KCON16NY DAY 1 EXPERIENCE

So as most, if not all, of you know, KCON16NY just ended. I went last year and of course with the amazing lineup they had this year, I had to go. So here is my recap of what happened on Day 1.

So I checked in and got my pass booklets. I got P2 combo so with them, I got two BTOB fan audience passes and I had a chance to get a hi touch and the Kpop gods must have shined upon me because I got a hi touch with Ailee. For those of you who don't know, Ailee is my ultimate female bias. I've actually told her that when I talked to her on ASC. She is my queen so I was beyond excited to get to meet her in person.

Anyway, I traded my second BTOB pass for an Eric Nam one (I wanted Seventeen or BTS, but hardly anyone was trading for them so I got me some Eric, but I'll talk about that in my Day 2 blog post)

So I had to run from one end of the convention to the other to make it on time for the BTOB fan engagement. I have loved them since close to their debut so to actually see them in person was amazing. I always do height comparsions because I want to see how tall they are compared to me (I'm 5'8 so I'm a little on the tall side). Sungjae obviously was tall, but I was bit shocked to find out that Minhyuk wasn't as tall as I pictured him to be. Ilhoon was actually taller than I thought he'd be, but he could have been wearing insoles. The fan engagement was awesome!

So I bought a whole bunch of merchandise; albums, t-shirts, posters, etc.

Next up was the Ailee fan engagement which JunCurryAhn MCed so I got pictures of him too. Ugh, she is so freaking beautiful in person. Body goals though. I wish I had a body like hers. And she is the sweetest person I've ever met. So when I did the hi touch, I asked her if she remembered me. I said, "I'm Morgan from ASC....from the Don't Touch Me era....I won your signed album" and she was like "oh yeah that's right!" I was like "YES! She remembers". I actually stood there for a good 10 seconds and the security had to come over and nudge me and tell me to move along but it was so worth it! He wasn't mean about it either like some could have been.

Now onto the concert itself; just a short recap of that though. Seventeen performed exactly as good as I thought they would. Ailee was spectacular as I figured she'd be. She even teared up with how blessed she was to perform at home which almost made me cry. I wasn't excited about seeing Crush or Dynamic Duo because I'm not a hip hop fan. Crush, even though I'm not big on ballads was really good, but Dynamic Duo blew me away. They owned that stage and got everyone so hyped. And lastly BTOB. Dear lord, Born To Beat, they exceeded my expectations. They are SOOOO amazing live! Eunkwang and Changsub's high notes are a life altering experience let me tell you.
