THIS CHALLENGE IS SUPER FUN and really challenges your creativity. You'd be surprised with the things you come up with actually. In my case I used two songs per couple and stopped writing exactly when the song ended, no cheating! The couples all have like different genres.. And there really is no time to think or plan ahead. Well, maybe there was a liiittle time to plan, but not enough time to finish everything. Come try this out~ Hope you guys will enjoy this super random short drabbles! XD
Maerin stood in front of the mirror, watching herself as she tried on several dresses to go on a date with Tae Min. It had been nearly 7 months after they started dating, and she figured she was ready to move on to the next stage of their relationship.
“He is a guy after all, you know what guys want,” Seul Yi had spoken very wise words to her.
So here she was, studying her body from every angle in the mirror, feeling utterly despicable in the outfit she had chosen to wear. It was way too revealing for her taste. The cut on her chest was a little too low, the skirt would reveal too much of her thigh when she made a single move. She had no idea what she was doing or who she was anymore.
“Who am I? This is not Ha Maerin,” she muttered to herself with a low sigh.
Her ringtone began to ring and Maerin knew it was Tae Min calling to announce her was probably already in front of her house. She quickly ran to the front, picked up the highest pair of stilletos she could find in her shelf. Honestly this wasn’t like her at all. She never wore make up.
With hesitation, she opened the door, coming face to face with Tae Min who was neatly and formally dressed in suit and ties. He gave her a quick glance, widening his eyes in surprise.
“Uhm… You look… Nice…” he muttered the words, trying to sound as genuine as possible.
“It’s horrible, isn’t it? I’ll go change,” Maerin stormed back to her room. She felt uncomfortable since the start and shouldn’t have listened to Suel Yi’s advice at all.
There was a small chuckle coming from Tae Min as he quickly entered her apartment, closing the door behind him. He grabbed her by the wrist and spun her around so they’d only be a few inches away from each other.
“Tell me why you’re dressed like this,” he said softly with the charming smile on his face.
“Because I wanted to… Because… Men likes… This kind of outfits,” Maerin answered timidly, feeling like crying at her stupidity.
“No silly,” Tae Min laughed as he patted her head. “I like you for you, not for the clothes you wear. I like you, Ha Maerin.”
He pecked her forehead.
(I actually really like this one cause of the nice moral message, and because of ToHeart's song. But especially because I finished the sentence EXACTLY when the song finished!)
MyungYi (Myung Soo x Seul Yi)
The jar in her hand was beautiful, filled with thousands of starts made out of paper strings. Seul Yi knew it must’ve taken Myung Soo hours to fold every single paper one by one, finally created a total of 100 stars to give to her on their 100th day anniversary.
“Thank you,” she had told him with a faint smile.
Though this was very sweet and all, and she appreciated Myung Soo’s effort, she really did, she couldn’t feel that something was still missing. The guy was always gone for so long, and she missed having his presence next to her.
Even today, she had to thank him through a mere call after receiving the jar of stars from the delivery man, whom she thought looked quite handsome too. If her boyfriend was going to keep this up, she might as well get to know the mailman named Ki Kwang.
“I hope you like them,” Myung Soo told her.
“I do,” Seul Yi held the jar in her hand as she studied it form different angles. “But everything’s black.”
“I like black,” Myung Soo simply stated.
She couldn’t help but chuckle. She liked everything that Myung Soo liked anyway. “Me too,” she agreed.
But she couldn’t have this anymore, she decided it was time to make a change. It was unfair to both her and Myung Soo if she never communicated her desires to him.
“Oppa! I hate that you’re not here!” she said bluntly.
There was silence on the other side of the line.
“On our 100 days anniversary, I really wanna be with you. I like the stars, but it’s not the same as having you by my side.”
“Oh… But, I’m shooting all the way in Busan,” Myung Soo spoke, reminding her of the project he was given from his work. Being a photographer was tough with many sudden schedule trips.
“Fine, be that way!” Seul Yi pouted as she hung up the phone. This wasn’t the way their special day should end, but she couldn’t help but feel disappointed. This did not give her the victory at all.
(For this one I am super sorry!!! Hahahahahaa! They were suposed to make up and I planned Myungsoo would surprise her dressed up as a star, saying he'd be the brightest star in her life and stuff.. But no time... And Seulyi wasn't suposed to be mad, but then Victorious came up and she became mad. So yeah, it ends with the fight XD)
HoBi (Hoya x Bi Ah)
Bi Ah heaved a deep sigh as she had to work on her late night shift at the diner once again. It did not help because she was forced to wear those inline skates as part of her uniform, along with a blonde wig which she did not like. The only good thing was the pay, the pink colored uniform…
And Lee Hoya.
Bi Ah cleared shyly when she encountered him again that night. He always appeared at the exact same time every day, 8 PM, sitting at the same spot at the bar on the very left side where it was more secluded. She approached him to serve him.
“M-m-may I take.. your.. uhm.. order?” She tried her best to utter the question. It never worked out. She had tried so many times to talk to him without stuttering, but everyday was just the same. She felt like crying inside, knowing the guy probably thought of her as a weirdo.
Hoya was too nice for that though and always smiled at her in a way that made her heart melt.
“I’ll have the usual,” he answered with his deep husky voice. So attractive.
“Okay!” Bi Ah cheered up again, smiling bashfully to herself. Hoya was her regular customer after all and no one else served him but her. She knew what he wanted more than anyone else, and he probably wouldn’t say “the usual” to others since they didn’t know him as well as she did.
So she quickly got ready to prepare his late night sandwich which he always ate at 8 PM after he was finished with work. She barely talked to him, but she had heard his conversations enough to know so much about him. She knew where he worked, his favorite color, his name, and everything else.
“Hey, Bi Ah,” Hoya suddenly called.
The girl spun around in shock, almost tripping from her inline skates. It caught his attention as he quickly got up and grabbed her hand. “Are you okay?” he asked.
Bi Ah gave a shy nod.
Maybe this wasn’t love yet, but she knew she was utterly and and immensely infatuated with him.
(My very first time writing HoBi, and I always imagined BiAh would be the very shy one.. This was inspired by Tae Yeon's MV working in the diner.. I think this is short but sweet, cause you know they pay attention to each other even as strangers. Unless it's a little stalker-ish XD)
XiuHee (Xiu Min x Hee-Jin)
Hee-Jin stood in front of the Christmas tree, holding a small pack of cookies she had decided to bake for her crush, Min Seok. Today was going to be the day where a miracle would take place; the day she’d make way for love to enter her life.
She was going to confess.
“Hi! Sorry, did you wait long?” Min Seok’s voice called out to her, as he came running to her form a distance.
The girl immediately shook her head, blushing as she stared at Min Seok’s adorable visual. She couldn’t believe he was her senior in school when he looked so young and squishy.
“I shouldn’t have kept a lady waiting, I;m sorry,” he said as he held his arm out in front of her.
She giggled in response and linked her arms with his as they started walking around the busy Christmas street. Everything was decorated so beautiful and made her feel warm and giddy inside. She and Minseok had been long time friends, but her feelings changed one day. And now she was hoping he’d feel the same.
But what if he didn’t? Would it ruin their friendship? Would he hate her? She was panicking by herself when Min Seok realized something was wrong with her facial expression. She was a very expressive person after all.
“Are you okay?” Min Seok asked her worriedly, halting them as he studied her further, ensuring she was alright.
“Uuhm.. Oppa, I need to tell you something!” Hee-Jin squeezed her eyes shut as she bit her lips nervously. At that moment, there was a sudden loud chime coming from the nearby church bells; ringing a loud beautiful ring to indicate it was almost midnight.
She had to do it now. She promised herself she wanted to gather her courage during Christmas day. This was like the personal alarm clock she had set for herself.
“Min Seok oppa, I like you,” Hee-Jin spoke with all her courage, stretching her arms to give the pack of cookies she had made for him.
Min Seok looked surprised, chuckling at her confession instead of giving a proper answer.
“W-what is that supposed to mean?” She asked, pouting at his vague reaction.
“Isn’t this clear enough?” Min Seok asked, placing his hand behind her back and pulling her closer to him. He gave her a small kiss on the lips before the clock continued ticking.
(This one is super shoujo manga-like. But hearing Way For Love just reminded me of Christmas, and this idea appeared. You know his answer right? :3)
WooMi (Woo Hyun x Hyun Mi)
“We’re going to play the XOXO game now!” Hyun Mi announced as everyone else were neatly gathered in a circle during the party.
“Explain,” Maerin said.
“It’s like spin the bottle, but instead you have the choice to pick X, a kiss, or a O, a hug,” Hyun Mi explained.
“Sounds, interesting! Let’s start!” Maerin cheered. She had no patience for fun games like these and took the empty bottle form the center and handing it to Hyun Mi. “You go first, since it’s your idea.”
“Okay~” The girl did not protest and quickly spun the bottle, not having thought this entire game idea through. Her eyes kept watching the spinning bottle as it landed right on Woo Hyun.
“X or O?” the guy asked with a grin.
“O…” Hyun Mi said, turning a lot quiet at once. Everyone knew she was crushing on the guy, except for the guy himself. Well, he might’ve actually known about it and then pretended to be obvlivious.
“Are you sure? Ill let you change your mind,” Woo Hyun teased with a grin as if he was expecting for the latter.
“Maybe I suggested the wrong game,” Hyun Mi said, knowing she was not going to survive the skinship as Woo Hyun laughed at her, pulling her in for a friendly hug. It made her heart burst with ecstacy. Everyone else cooed in excitedment, and it almost muted the loud thundering of her own heartbeat.
“My turn~” He called and began spinning the bottle.
Everyone watched in anticipation, loudly squealing when the bottle landed back on none other than Hyun Mi.
“You two can keep playing this on your own. Consider us invisible,” Hoya remarked.
Hyun Mi looked extremely nervous by now, giving Woo Hyun a hesitant look. “X or-”
“X!” He answered without waiting, motioning her to come over.
Hyun Mi whined in defeat as she moved in front of him. Of course she was partially happy about this, but more embarrassed actually.
The guy had placed both hands on her shoulders, and she squeezed her eyes tight for what was about to come.
But instead, she felt him giving her a small shy peck on her forehead instead of on her lips, which was what the game initially required.
“Oh..?” she uttered, letting her hand glide to her head in confusion.
“There’s no need to rush it. This won’t be our last kiss, you know,” he said.
(Woohyun will forever be a big cheesy flirt, even in these short drabble challenges XD Hehe, I still love it~ I don't know if this game actually exists or not, my mind made it up as soon as XOXO started playing XD)
ChanRin (Chan Yeol x Yerin)
Yerin was listening to the song from through her earphone as she was busily walking on the treadmill of the gym she frequently visited. She was already reaching the maximum limit of her strength, drenched entirely in sweat as she was running out of water.
It was time to call it a day and she got off. Her attention was then caught by a strange looking guy who was dressed in a formal business attire, trying to try out the treadmill next to her with the most confused looking face.
“You turn it on like this,” she decided to give him a helping hand. The guy still looked very puzzled. “You don’t come here often do you?”
“No, this is my first time trying out a gym,” the guy spoke with a nervous laugh. “My name is Chan Yeol. You seem a professional at this kind of stuff.”
Yerin smiled proudly as she shook his hand. “Not exactly a pro, but I come here often enough to know what to do. I’m Yerin.”
“Maybe you could teach me? If you have time,” Chan Yeol began, biting his lips.
“Well, first of all, you should start changing into something else,” she pointed out, eyeing him from top to toe in that slick black colored outfit. She had to admit he looked extremely good in it.
“Oh! I probably can’t move in these,” Chan Yeol laughed nervously as he proceeded to his blouse, taking it off right in front of her.
“W-w-wait! Why… What… I didn’t ask you to show me your body… Ya! Put your clothes back on!” Yerin’s face flushed red immediately.
“You told me to change, so I assumed I could go bare,” Chan Yeol spoke.
“At home, but not in here! There kids!” Yerin yelled, her eyes trailing along the gym area that was strangely enough completely empty. They were the only two people inside.
“Seems fine to me,” Chan Yeol spoke as he continued to stare at the treadmill. He got up on it and tried his best to figure out what to press. He decided to challenge himself and kept increasing the speed.
“This is fun! It’s so fast!” Chan Yeol spoke, continuing to press the button to go higher and higher.
“No! Go lower! This is too fast for you! You’re still a beginner!” Yerin yelled, trying to stop him.
But it was too late when the machine spun out of control, and he could no longer keep up with the pace or find enough time to slow down.
“Whoaaaa!!!”
One thing led to another, and he ended up falling right on top of her.
(This one feels like it would be the beginning of some story or something >.< He was gonna get off and apologize, but the song ended, you know~ And it has some HIPS inside jokes too XD)
SooHa (Jisoo x Hana)
Hana was kicking the ground with her feet, feeling the tears in her eyes after what her parents had told her. She found everything unacceptable and so unfair. Why did everything have to happen to her? This trigerred her to run away from home as she was now sitting by herself in the park, trying to think things through.
“Hey Hana, what are you doing here?”
Hana looked up from her spot, seeing Jisoo, the source of all problems appear in her line of sight. In fact, he wasn’t the problem itself, but everyone else made him into the problem.
“I.. I was bored at home,” she lied, quickly sniffing and wiping her tears away in the hope he did not notice anything.
Jisoo did not buy any of that, but respected hr privacy enough to not keep questioning her. He took a seat besides her and kept accompanying her in silence; he accompanied her with his presence.
This was one of the many reasons why Hana liked him so much. It hurt just thinking being without him, though they were technically not dating. He was just someone she was very close to, someone she could look up to and share her problems with, except for this one.
“You should smile, bunny, you look brighter that way,” Jisoo spoke, placing a hand on her head.
The sudden move was too affectionate for her poor fragile heart to handle. And without knowing what exactly happened, the tears started to flow out of her eyes.
This surprised the other guy.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean for you to see me like this… But I figured that there is no one else who knows me as well as you do… And…” Hana was unable to continue speaking as she kept crying bitterly at everything her parents had told her.
“You can be yourself around me; no pretenses, no acts… Just be the Seol Hana I like,” Jisoo told her softly.
Hana looked up at him, blinking her tears away, wondering if she had heard him properly. Was that a confession? Or was her mind playing tricks on her?
“I like the Hana who drinks water instead of alcohol,” Jisoo tried to explain himself, making it worse instead.
“Because alcohol smells,” Hana spoke.
Jisoo laughed as he began to pat her head, seeing her squeeze her eye shut at the affectionate touch. “And that is one of the many reasons why I like you, Hana.”
Hana looked at him with her cheeks glowing red. There was no way Jisoo could be a bad influence on her, he was everything she needed in a role model boyfriend.
(I was so ready to write a holy scenario for them, but my gospel songs did not appear. Instead it was more angsty, but I still try to make it fluffy~)
