Writing Fanfics

I remember before I started to write fanfics, I would always stay up late reading them. There are some addicting fanfics out there haha. There came a point where I’d have all these ideas in my head and then I decided to write my own. I realized it was harder than it looked, but I enjoyed it. There are so many random stories I wrote and haven’t published.

I’ve never really liked writing and now that I do I still don’t consider myself a writer. I think its because I find my writing average. There are so many good writers out there and I feel like I’m not to that level with my writing. Some writers are really good at describing literally everything.

I love reading comments that say they like my style of writing because it makes me feel like my writing isn’t too bad. Anyway, I started writing fanfics because I love Kpop and being able to create something from your imagination and being able to manipulate it however you want is amazing to me because you never know what you can create. Writing also takes up my free time. I don’t have a lot anymore, but I still try to find time to write when I have nothing to do. I just hate when I get blocked, it really .

Why did you start writing fanfics or why did you start reading them?

Honestly, I knew nothing about fanfiction. I had no clue that there was something like fanfic in the first place. But when I clicked on the link of Sooyoung's picture, it led me to this site which had introduced me to the world of fanfic. And I loved it very much! As to why I started writing fanfic, it's because I love writing. Ever since I was twelve, I always wrote stories for my English essays. And my teacher loved what I wrote her. But when I discovered this site, I read lots of good and awesome fanfics and thought it would be great to write a fanfic about the fandom I was in. That was how I began to join the reader/writer community and though I am not a good writer myself, knowing that there are people who like what I had written, I'm motivated to keep on writing stories :)

I've always liked reading and I started writing way before I found fanfics. I started writing because I would get all these story ideas in my mind and I realized I should write them down. Then I got into K-pop and K-drama. I started using the K-pop/K-drama idols/actors/actresses in my stories. When I found AFF, it was like a library of endless fics to read! It just fed my love for reading. One day, I just got enough courage to finally publish my story. I pick the one that had my favorite OC character, whom I've featured in several stories. It's also my most recent since it was supposed to be an extension of the OC's life.

I like reading fics because, well, nice stories about my idols. I honestly can't remember how I get in too deep like I am now, lol. Published books seems mediocre to me now after reading fanfics - and that either says something about the talent in the fanfic community or how deep I'm in, lol. And I started writing it for real last year because Jongin walked into my mind, sat down and said "write my story" so I created Psycho. Psycho is tbh just the beginning, I rewrote a oneshot, wrote a little more oneshots, found my style, kept writing Psycho, took on a 30 day challenge that suddenly became much much more and ~boom~ now I'm here. Writing when I have time (and the feels) and giving my readers chills (hopefully) in the mental disordered angst that I usually write ;; but I like it here, so it's okay uwu

I started writing fanfics because I love writing. I know my writing isn't great, but I love to express myself in the written word. I write because I love creating this Universe that my characters can live in. I write because I love giving life to these characters. If people comment on my stories, that's great, but the stories I write are the ones I would love to read, and I find that important. I write for me first, and other people second. If you like my worlds, then great. If you don't then that's too bad, but I love my worlds so I'll keep writing about them. I think that should be the most important rule of writing - write something you want to read about, and write it for yourself. No other reason.
