APPEARANCE —
baby faced beauty Sowon certainly doesn't look like a typical person standing on the streets. With bright eyes that seem to sparkle under the sunlight - Sowon, with a straight face may look a little exotic in the eyes of strangers and friends alike. Sowon has a tendency of looking her age - people often openly express surprise when they find out that she is merely 18. But when she smiles - her years melt away as her apple cheeks expose themselves.

○ i ain't no size 2 if there was one thing that sowon had to endure throughout her years growing up, it's definitely snide comments about her size. As such, she has grown to be a little insecure about her figure. She is definitely not fat by any means - but she definitely isn't a size zero either. Though her bones are definitely thin and smaller - and contribute in helping to make her look smaller, her thighs remain a little bigger than she likes.

FASHION SENSE —
they don't make you the way they used to sowon has a tendency of being careful wth the clothes that she chooses to wear. If Sowon had a chocie, she would definitely not be seen outside with anything sleeveless - cardigans and long sleeves are definitely essentials in her wardrobe.

PERSONALITY TRAITS
○ posi vibes bright  cheerful  eloquent
○ neutral feels extroverted  stubborn
○ bad vibes dramatic  emotional  absent-minded  naive  tactless

PERSONALITY —
○ wow why don't you just go up to him and ask for a picture you know that one person who has bubblegum music at full volume at 3 in the morning? That is probably Sowon. The person ing in a ridiculously loud voice about the person in front of them ahem you? That is probably Sowon as well. To the people who don't know her well enough - strangers and acquaintances alike, Sowon is definitely someone lacking in tact. Sowon is the person who will openly point and stare at you when you mess up and the person who will openly snap pictures of the cute guy sitting across the subway. She lacks consideration for the strangers she manages to interact with on a daily basis - and she definitely doesn't know how to be discreet when it comes down to it.

○ how the are you so bright and happy all the time Most people have this impression that Sowon is literally someone who literally just cannot shut up. Truth be told, they have good reason to believe so. Sowon is certainly the moodmaker in her group of friends. She is excitable, constantly full of life and she is constantly trying to engage everyone in some sort of conversation. It doesn't matter if she has only slept a few hours the previous night - if you guys are out, Sowon will often be the person cracking lame jokes, lightening up the atmosphere. Going out isn't the same without her - she is the person who will fill up those empty moments in between with something hilarious, but also entirely stupid. Sure, she certainly has her own reservations about meeting new people. But people are unlikely to notice this - fearless and confident, she has no qualms when she actually has to meet people.

○ "you grow with people - you just need them" As with most people in her generation, SOwon had spent a good chunk of her pre-adolescent years believing that she was an introvert through and through. But years past by, and what felt like the ugly head of her talkative and outgoing nature seems to greatly imply otherwise. Sowon has no issues striking up a conversation with the people around her - and her nights are spent quietly thinking about new conversations with friends she would see the next day. Sowon is definitely not shy - at least, it wouldn't seem that way to strangers. Her big, and ever-growing network of friends also beg to differ. Sowon finds energy with the people around her - and is often bored and listless when she doesn't have anyone to speak to. This can make her a little tiring to be around with.

○ don't dull the sparkle in your eye if there is one thing sowon definitely lacks in, its how she isn't ready to become an adult. Responsibility is not something that she enjoys - in fact, she tends to procrastinate on her bills and y'know, looking for a job. It doesn't become glaringly obvious until you watch her stumble around, doing things that people her age can do with both eyes closed/ Sheltered by a loving, doting family - sowon still doesn't know the sauces they serve with Macnuggets at MacDonalds and she sure as hell does not know how to do her laundry. Don't even get me started on how she struggles to fold her clothes. Though not necessarily someone who sees the world with rose-colored glasses, Sowon definitely does not have the experience - and doesn't want to have the experience of doing grown up things.

○ making mountains out of molehills on the other hand, people often feel that her talents are not put into good use - she should really try out being an actress. Sowon can tend to get dramatic. Sowon is a whole lot of fun to hang around with - especially around introverts. She is never short of accounts about the people around her and their ridiculous antics. With her animated voice, complete with his hand gestures - Sowon knows how to entertain the people around her. Sowon is well aware that this is one of her selling points as person - she thinks as she speaks, and this often leads to creative, but fun and nonsensical accounts of random moments of stupidity. These often cause people to feel closer, more at ease with her.

○ and I never like to admit that I was wrong if there is one flaw about sowon that stands out to the people around her - its the dog-headed determination to be right even if she isn't. Sure, she's wrong. She knows that she is definitely not right - but she sure as hell isn't going down without a fight. Willful, stubborn and young - Sowon bleeds with immaturity because of her stubbornness. Sowon isn't only someone who will ignore advice offered out of good will, she will probably lash right back at help. As one can possibly imagine, this led to one too many conflicts with family and friends. Most people are rightfully upset - all reason is lost to a hot-tempered and childish Sowon, who wants things done her way even if they aren't for the best.

○ I'm just thinking out loud Sowon, by nature, is a rather emotional person: empathetic even. Powerful and destructive, Sowon's feelings are both her best friend and her greatest foe. On one hand, she tends to be sensitive to the emotional needs of the person and strives off listening to them. On the other hand, Sowon is also guided to do things according to the feelings that she feels so strongly about. Sowon is firstly, easily stirred by the hardships and tears of others. On the other hand, her feelings - so strong and powerful, can cause her to turn a blind eye - she is often guided to do things according to how she feels at the present moment, with not even the slightest regard for the future. She's a rollercoaster that goes up and down - its tiring to deal with her.

BACKGROUND —
○ i'll take you back to the year ninety eight Sowon was born in the later months of the year 1998 to Jung Seokjin and Seo Yoobin. They were a young couple - in the year 1998, Yoobin had only just hit 26 a few months before Sowon's arrival. Yoobin and Seokjin had vastly different personalities - Yoobin was a snappy and quick woman while Seokjin was sturdy like the ground. One would think their romance was sure to burn out in time to come - but Yoobin had lost her father at a young age and Seokjin was a responsible man. They were ready to make it work - even if it meant broken backs and calloused fingers. Two years later, Sowon was gifted with a younger sister - Jung Sojin.

○ have you ever loved someone so much, you would give an arm for? Despite their young age and the many burdens and sacrifies that come with being young parents, Sowon and Sojin was raised with nothing but love. They weren't spoilt rotten, no. In fact, Yoobin kept a tight leash on their two daughters, raising them with plenty of discipline. They never skipped a day of school and they barely threw tantrums - and they lived most of their days, dangling somewhere between fearing and respecting their mother. But they were also very dearly loved by their parents. During their younger years, Seokjin quit his job just so he can look after his daughters.

○ and i know it hurt so bad, it broke your momma's heart though sowon was pretty much an angel in her early years, you probably can't say the same for her years in school. Sowon wasn't always likeable - and having a group of friends isn't something that happened to her automatically. During middle school, in fact, people often avoided her because even in their own little ways, they realized that Sowon was too intense for kids her age. At the same time, Sowon's relationship with her parents weren't the easiest. They were always arguing - fighting, actually. She has since simmered down a lot from her old ways - and having entered high school, it was like Sowon was a new person.

RELATIONSHIPS —
if there is one person that can somehow manage to stir the protective, maternal instincts in her, it is definitely baek soonhee. It might certainly be because of her age and how she is always calling out to her - but she the two of them indeed have a close relationship with one another. Soonhee feels like she can lean on Sowon - and sowon has no thoughts of letting her down.

high school friend :: baek soonhee, 18, high school student

around taeseon, she can get a little quiet. In reality, the two of them hardly speak to one another. But when their interactions are over the Internet, the two of them are definitely the noisest people around. Taeseon, however, is usually more quiet in real life and thus - the two of them might appear awkward.

○ jeon-nim yet another nickname created by sowon in a rusty attempt every time jungkook starts whining about something stupid. This is mostly used playfully and is a nickname that jungkook approves of - he often takes advantage of this nickname as a leverage for her to do what he wants

you don't know me, even I don't know myself If Sowon is honest, Jungkook is someone that Sowon cannot quite figure out. Jungkook is hard working - there is a certain greediness to Jungkook. As with any other child, Jungkook wants what he wants and often lacks consideration for the people around him. One thing is for certain though, Jungkook has a certain way around people - proven by the juniors and seniors that greet him around the hallway with a friendly chat. Jungkook certainly knows his value as a person: he can tend to get a little big-headed, though he is also the few people that will turn back to look after those weaker and smaller than him.

what do you mean To say that Jungkook and Sowon are friends is an oversimplification of their current relationship. Sowon and Jungkook have dated for a short period of time during their first year of high school before breaking off - their differences in personalities were not well-complemented. Sowon likes to think that they are good friends now, but it feels like the two are somewhat drawn to one another. Though you wouldn't catch her admit it, there are certainly some lingering feelings on her part about him. They share a some relationship right now - somewhere between being friends and wanting to be more.

DATE OF BIRTH — 27 february 1997
AGE — 19 years old

PERSONALITY TRAITS —

○ neutral feels honest  optimistic
○ bad vibes stubborn  emotional  self-critical  insecure
PERSONALITY —
hey there, the guy with the pretty smile with his ridiculously attractive features and tasteful sense in clothes, Hoseok turns head and stops traffic every time he leaves his house. Sure, there are one too many perks with being deemed as being extremely attractive by the people around him but there are certain drawbacks as well. People often assume that he doesn't study (he does, he just doesn't attend school as much as he should), that he probably smokes (a little, but he is no chain smoker). People see Shin Hoseok as the caricature of a jock - someone whose really nice to stare at, but probably has less depth than the children's pool. Though there are certainly some truths in their words, friends know that he is more than just a pretty boy.

○ your phone is really annoying, can you get it to shut up?? similarly to sowon, hoseok is a rather popular guy with the people around him. Being easy on the eyes is one thing: Hoseok has plenty of female friends who decided that even though they can't really have Hoseok, they don't mind having him as a companion. Hoseok is also a loyal friend - and pleasant enough that people, guys and girls just want to hang out with him. He has a ridiculous amount of friends: he somehow manages to keep in touch with the people that others would have already lost touch with - like the kid from his middle school who moved to Daegu? Yeah, he still talks to him.

○ one must not tell lies honesty is certainly the best policy for Shin Hoseok. Hoseok is no though, and this has earned him a rep among the people he is acquainted with. He has somehow managed to achieve the need to call things out when he has to with a certain tact. In fact, Hoseok carries himself with a certain kindness and maturity that is rarely seen in people his age. He is often the first few to notice when someone is a little off - and you bet that if you called at 3 in the morning, he would answer his call even if he is tired. Hoseok definitely doesn't live life aimlessly (he still doesn't know what he wants in life, to be honest) but Hoseok sticks to his guns - that you can be sure.

○ doesn't matter if my friends call me stupid and my parents refuse Though easygoing and adaptable with a pleasant demeanour, things are definitely different when it comes to himself. Hoseok is extremely adamant on doing things the way he wants things done. Hoseok is a creature of habit - he has a hook for his keys, a corner for his shoes and school bags and everything is labelled accordingly. He prides himself on being a man of principles - he has a code that he sets for himself and constantly strives to live up to his own expectations. And of course, he takes great pride in having the discipline to do things the way he wants done. He often turns a blind eye to the well-meaning advices and people watching his back. Its exasperating, really: he smiles and nods - sometimes agrees, but goes ahead to do the things you told him not to.

○ this feeling that overcomes me every night, i hate it With his sensible words and caring eyes, it's easy to think you have a prince charming in Hoseok. But not even charming Hoseok is perfect. Around people, his emotional nature serves in helping him keep up with people socially. He gets angry when you talk about that random of a stranger who decided that he didn't want to share an elevator with you and laughs when you bring up that one time you attempted to eat sand because what you thought of as the love of your life decided to break up with you. But he often gets the brunt of his emotional personality. He wears his heart on his sleeves - genuine and honest, he reacts easily and quickly to the feelings that hit him. If you cross or hurt him, he isn't the person who will shrug it off coolly.

○ but enemy was in the mirror Certainly, Hoseok looks like the Korean version of a Ken doll. Dearly loved by all and a bustling, busy life - but Wonho also his own demons to fight and issues to overcome. Hoseok has a tendency to perfectionism - if it isn't obvious enough from how things must be done in a certain order and how they should be of a certain standard. Hoseok isn't too used to failure and losing - and his few moments of inadequancy and vulnerability left a bitter taste in his mouth. When things aren't going well - at the first moment where things don't look they are going well, he is the first to apologise. He is quick to bash himself - and the crumpled look on his fear really shows how his confidence is merely a front.

LOVE STORY —
chapter zero Hoseok and Sowon lived in the same neighbourhood - in fact, the two of them were actually neighbours for a good number of years in their life. They sometimes take the same bus home and buy fish cakes from the same street vendor. To Sowon, Hoseok is the noisy young punk - he is often spotted with his friends downstairs their block, a bottle of beer in their hands as they laugh over nothing. To Hoseok, Sowon is that girl who is always talking on the phone and plays loud Taylor Swift music at 3 in the morning. Their impression and knowledge of one another were just mere stereotypes. Even after attending the same school, it became easier to recognize one another. But, they were a year apart, and had their own friends - and naturally, neither made efforts to acknowledge the other.

○ #one: goodbye chapter one The first time they formally met each other was the night after her breakup with Jungkook. She wasn't proud to admit it, but she had spent her afternoon in a daze. She wandered around Seoul before finding her way home by foot. Hoseok had first noticed her when he was out buying lunch. The next time, he was waiting downstairs. As he climbs up the usually uninhabited playground they had claimed as a hangout spot, the two meet eyes to eye and they end up settling for the stone tables and chairs. His friends wouldn't stop giving him hell about it, whining about how drinking just wasn't the same without the squeaky and dirty child-sized slide set at the playground - they ended up going home quickly. He didn't really mind - his mind was occupied, unsettled by the sight of his cheerful and noisy neighbour looking muted and dull. He comes back looking for her after sending his friends home - to find her by the staircases. He asks her if she's okay and all she does is sigh heavily - he offers her beer, and she takes the beer as a sign of appreciation.

Footsteps - one step, two step and they stop right in front of her. Hesitantly, he starts, "are you okay?". She sighs and then shrugs - if her feelings were held in some kind of bottle, it was obvious that they were screwed tightly. It was already coming eleven in the night - and she knows that she should go home soon. But it feels like there is liquid lead in her veins - poisonous, and heavy - she didn't want to go home, she didn't want to do anything.

Wordlessly, he takes a look at the beer in his hand. Him and his friends, they take turns choosing the beer to drink. And if he had to be perfectly honest, this was one of his favourites - slightly flavoured to taste like orange juice, even though it still left a bitter after taste down your throat. There was about half left. He thought about how hard he had to convince his friends, and took a look at the downtrodden girl in front of him.

"Don't try to down this too quickly," He doesn't expect a response from her. He thinks that she can't drink anyway - she doesn't look like a drinker and wonders if he has wasted a can of beer. As he unlocks the door to his house, he hears the sound of the hollow beer can hitting the ground softly - as if it was lifted before being put down. Before his heart can be lifted, he tells himself that it's probably his imagination - its all wishful thinking, he thinks as he locks the gates behind him.

○ #two: just a tiny step forward A simple beer can seemed to have changed their impression of another. Sowon, who had previously seen her senior as nothing but a young punk (but really though, who can blame her - he didn't attend school regularly and hung out with scary, loud kids). Previously, the two of them had bumped into one another just far too often for their liking. As if it isn't bad enough they share the same route and the same bus, they had even once reached for the same pocket of M&M chocolate chip cookies. Now, it seemed as if their luck had ran out. Eyes scanning the crowd, they would be lying if they said they didn't have the inkling of a hope they can somehow see the back of one another's head. They met a few weeks later - she was still not looking too well as they took the same lift. Neither said a thing, but sharing a lift had never felt so comfortable. Hoseok had broke the ice first, asking if she had felt better. Numbers were then exchanged.

○ #three: convenience store love story things were far more easy afterwards. Numbers were exchanged, and the two of them quickly found themselves glued onto the screen far too often for their own liking. Neither had planned it out this way - it started with a mere text because they were too lazy to actually exchange numbers. Texting one another was strangely engaging though - Hoseok was soothing and patient and Sowon was a breath of fresh air. They found themselves talking about everything under the sun. Sowon still hasn't fully recovered from her breakup with Jungkook. You can find her dodging him in hallways and missing out on outings because seeing his face was not something she wanted to have to deal with. And she was thankful to Hoseok, because she knew that without him around - she would probably be rotting at home with a bag of chips in one hand, eyes glued onto some cheesy sitcom. Living only just next door, they find themselves heading down together to grab meals or having conversations that last way past midnight. Hoseok is charming and caring. It's obvious that their relationship is surely going to develop into something more than friendship - and really, neither minded.

○ #four: plasters over bullet holes it takes only a month or two before Jungkook and her were on speaking terms. It was a struggle, really - but persistence is the key with Jungkook. After one too many notes expertly thrown across the classroom and texts and phone calls - the two of them eventually talked it out, coming to a general consensus about their break up.  It was evident to Hoseok that Sowon had brightened up plenty ever since Jungkook returned to her. He didn't really want to have to think about the depth of her affection for Jungkook - his insides would twist themselves into unbearable notes when it happens. He thinks it's too much to handle. So he it up at first - messages were no longer as prompt and Sowon didn't seem half as interested in hanging out with him. Jungkook wasn't even a topic she liked discussing - though mostly open, she became discreet and closed up whenever Hoseok tried to bring him up.

Slowly, but surely - Hoseok takes small steps out of her life. Sowon didn't quite notice: her head was too wrapped around Jungkook for her to fully comprehend that Hoseok was walking out of her life. Sure, she knew that Jungkook didn't like her in the same way anymore. But it didn't stop her from harbouring quiet hopes that the two of them can be together in the end.

○ #five: waves of feeling, an emotional roller coaster Sure, Sowon gets the momentary happiness of being by his side as a friend. But there were a few brushes between the two of them where it was largely implied that Jungkook sees Sowon as more than a friend - sometimes he sends her cheesy good morning/good night texts, sometimes he spends time waiting for her and this has sowon wishing for something more than just fiendship. But for just a little while, Sowon is satisfied. Sowon didn't really get jealous of the other girls he spent time with - largely because they are a big group of friends, until she sees that her friends see Jungkook the same way that she does. Sowon starts acting on the feelings of inaequancy and jealousy. It doesn't help that Jungkook doesn't seem willing to tie the knot, and the thought that Jungkook might choose someone else over her makes her feel so small and little - there begins the catfights, the drama, the he-said, she-said.

○ #six: things we lost in the fire He sees Jungkook sending Sowon home one day -- it was his turn to chip in for beer. The two are close enough - shoulders brushing each other as they walk. And he is hit by the biggest tidal wave of jealousy and bitterness. Fuelled by these negative feelings, he decided to call off the meeting with his friends (he didn't want anyone rationalizing his feelings, it just made him feel so small). He drinks himself to a frenzy. She, on the other hand, was out for a night snack - Onigiri sounded like a good idea for her until she sees Hoseok - drunk, shouting and crying. She should walk away - but they have been friends for a period of time and she didn't want to leave him in the lurch. (and she's really shaken by his confession too). She looks after him for the night, and leaves when he's fallen right asleep.

"I really liked you and I thought that you liked me too
but I saw the way you looked at him - and wow you
must really like him, don't you?"

"I do."
"I like you, though."
"I know."
"I really love you."

In sowon's opinion, they are finally even. There are no more scores to keep and definitely no more debts to be returned. After pondering for a few days, she decides that it would best to delete his number on her phone. And one deleted entry becomes several. She deleted a whole list of people - their numbers, their messages and even the photographs of them. She finally realizes that a long list of 70 over contacts have been reduced to be a measley four and what remained of thousands of photos were well, 10 at most? Her messages were reduced only to 3 to 4. Heart sinking in the small space of the playground, she can't stop the tears from flowing.

○ #six: elevator love confession (one step, two step) They didn't manage to see each other for a long time after that - until the two of them found themselves on a lift. He only wanted to ask her if she was okay - to apologize and thank her for that one night. But they ended up arguing - it turns out that his suspicions were not uncalled for and she had intended to avoid him. Annoyed, he pulls a lever - it brings the elevator to stop before he turns around and starts confronting her.

 one step, two step
if you go one step, two step away from me
i'll take three steps closer to you so the distance us
won't be too far
if you take take one step, two step towards me,
i'll stay still next to you
so our love doesn't feel fast
