I'm pretty busy these days. I just started my final major project for my college course so I'm determined on achieving a distinction for this project.

As you can guess from the title my project is about "gender and fashion identity". I'm mostly focusing on the transgender community and alternative/visual kei fashion - so it's a super personal project for me as it will reflect everything about my identity and others I know.

I'm basically writing this post, because I'm looking to gather a bunch of primary research for my project. If you are willing to, please state your name or a preferred name in the comments and talk about your gender identity or fashion identity if you have a specific fashion identity that isn't exactly accepted in the norm of society. If you cross dress or do drag etc. you're also free to comment. Literally talk about the emotions you felt before and after you realised what your gender and/or fashion identity was, the responses you've had from the people around you etc. You talk about almost anything you want.

My plan is for my final outcome is to do a series of acrylic or oil paintings of portraits of either myself and fellow friends who are transgender/genderfluid/cross-dressers/drag queens and kings etc. with their stories surrounding them. Plus all the work I produce for this project will be put on display at a group exhibition for my college in about 3 months where I'll make an attempt to sell my paintings.
