THAT'S RIGHT KYUNGSOO NOTICED ME!

(I'll explain this later)

Okay, so I don't really do these kind of blog posts and I haven't been on my tumblr acct in years so I thought of gushing over my experience seeing Exo this past Sunday here. I just need to do it omg If you read through all of this bless you because I am probably not going to read this over and just have all types of word vomit. Two days later and I'm still a mess! 

First off, this wasn't my first time seeing Exo live. I was lucky enough to have already seen them back in 2014. By chance Exo was having a concert in Singapore a few weeks before I was traveling to Korea to study. I legit didn't think my parents would allow me but I was able to go through the SM Global package thing. Which being at that concert can be a post itself. It's not the first time Exo was going to be in America aka California but I was so happy to hear them coming to the East Coast, esp Northeast. I had a feeling the venue was going to be Prudential, which is even closer to my actual hometown. It's only about 15 minutes away can yoU BELIEVE IT. Also, yes the venue was in New Jersey and not New York…but it’s the NYC Metro Area so I’ll let it slide.

I was originally planning to go with a group of four friends but during ticket sales we ended up being separated into groups of two people. Which made us kinda sad but I'm glad we were able to get first level seating. Leading up to the concert day was such a blur. I have no idea how fast time went. Kyungsoo is like my ultimate bias. Not just my main bias in Exo, so I was so excited to make a sign for him. I thought it'd be typical to have a sign that says 'D.O' or '경수' so I ended up making this:

I'm so happy a lot of people recognized who it was on my sign when I was walking around! I worked so hard on it and just really wanted to make sure Kyungsoo could see it. On the day of the concert, I met up with a bunch of my friends and we drove to the venue. We got prepaid parking last minute because protip: the VIP parking garage has a much shorter line to get inside. Also, there was like six of us in one car so we didn't mind splitting the expensive cost of the parking. 

Once we arrived I had to get the lightstick I pre-ordered, which I'm glad I did because even though MMT ended up selling merch at the venue I was not going to wait in a long line for a $10 lightstick. Even though I already had a sign I wanted to get the lightstick as a keepsake. We waited around for a bit since I ordered some goods from one of my favorite Kai fansites, MPST. I wish I was able to talk to them more, but they were so busy ><

After that, I was able to get a Sekai photocard and a Suho banner, which I didn't get a chance to take a picture of....it's still in my tote bag somewhere in my room. h a h OH!! I also got to meet another fic writer at the venue and that was really exciting!! I'll be her beta for exordium~

We still had time before the show and all of my friends had seating, so we decided to hang out at the Marriott hotel lounge nearby. I won't go into too much detail but the bartender was so kind to us. SHE GAVE US FREE COOKIES. YOU HAVE ME ONCE YOU GIVE ME FREE FOOD OKAY. By then I had drank quite a bit, but no worries I sobered up by the time we got inside. 

I originally had Section SAY THE NAME 17, but they closed it off and I had to get new tickets from Guest Services. It's basically the same section we would've been in if the stage didn't go past our original section and we got a few rows closer so I was totally okay with that. I was worried our stage wasn't going to be like LA's because on ticketmaster the extended stage looked different. I was really happy some of the stage had so extra space on the sides because let me tell you KYUNGSOO WAS ON MY SIDE SO MANY TIMES I FORGOT HOW TO FUNCTION. I had the perfect spot to watch Baeksoo during "Playboy." THOSE PANTS ARE SO TIGHT LIKE PAINTED ONTO THEM BY THE GODS. Also, Jongin is #2 in my bias list and he was on the other side of the stage so I legit had such a hard time figuring out where to look. Video proof: [X]

I recorded quite a few vids but some of them I kinda don't want to share because wow I'm such a mess. AHAHAH The videos that were kinda “okay” I posted on my twitter acct. I have some more Kyungsoo focused fancams but idk if I’ll ever get to uploading them. I’ve already sent them to 123434x of my friends in group chats. 

I'm pretty sure most of the Exo members saw my sign. It's pretty hard to ignore okay like I was right in their peripheral view. I was wondering if Kyungsoo would ever notice and then it was during “Peter Pan” that I had felt so alive. The members were splitting up to opposite sides of the main stage and while Kyungsoo was waving I could see his face brighten up a little more in my direction. I AM NOT BEING DELUSIONAL. THE FRIEND I WAS WITH CAN VOUCH FOR ME DO KYUNGSOO FREAKIN NOTICED ME. I also have it on video but I sound like a dying whale.

After that I was trying so hard not to drop to the floor or something. It really made me so happy. I also got to see Kaisoo dancing together during “Peter Pan.” The only Kaisoo I witnessed (but there was still Chansoo and I got a soft spot for that ok). I know the members were probably exhausted especially Kyungsoo and Minseok since they arrived the day of the Chicago concert, but they really still gave it their all. All of the members did their best that night. It made me appreciate my babies so much more. I’m sure they’ve always wanted to come to New York and thought it was nothing but a dream. I feel honored that I was there to make it a reality. There was also a lot of people. LIKE A LOT. The venue wasn’t sold out but there was definitely more than 12,000 people there. The silver ocean was so nice!

I was also happy when they tried their best to use as much English as possible. Suho is such a dad okay. (Not in the kink kind of way..I mean if he’d be into that.…👀) He spoke the most English that night. Chanyeol is the one who talked the most in general. Even he said he had been talking to much LOL There’s a bunch of comments I could make about their several ments, but I’m sure a lot of people saw videos on other social media. 

Though can I point out some of the member’s reactions to whoever was translating that night? Okay, I’ve been to quite a few Kpop concerts in NY and let me tell you ALL OF THE TRANSLATORS WERE HORRIBLE. I don’t expect them to be professional translators, but a lot of the times the idols aren’t saying anything difficult. Yes, I’m taking into account of other things that can make a person not be able to translate to the best of their abilities. But the translator at Exoluxion did such a poor job. The members were saying a lot of sincere things and it was being mistranslated repeatedly. As someone who knows Korean, it is very frustrating to see it happen. Can I say that I love Baekhyun because he was throwing shade on that translator. i.e. imitating her and there was one point where his last comment at the end was about three lines long and the woman translated it into a few words…HIS FACE HAD ME DYING. (the tea is hot. it is scalding.) 

Other things I want to point out. WOW CLUB EXO WAS SO LIT. DROP THAT IS MY JAM AND MAY I QUOTE MY FRIEND DURING THE CONCERT “THIS SONG MAKES ME WANNA TWERK"

KYUNGSOO ALSO ASKED IF WE WERE HUNGRY AND I WANTED TO SERVE HIM STEAK SO BAD (and also me as dessert ya kno)
