'Update soon' comments

Initially, I was going to let it slide but it's just overwhelming now.

I'm here today to address the constant 'Update soon'  comments that are posted on my story. I've been really patient throughout the time while writing that story.

I understood that some of you guys were just so excited for an update that you couldn't help yourself. I was okay with it for the time, but now it's very discouraging. It's stressful and adds pressure on me when some of you constantly badger me to update. There were times when people were rude as well and felt that it was my obligation to update when they said so.

Could you stop posting these type of comments? I get that you want another update soon, but I have a real life just like you and I have responsibilities. I can't just sit at home everyday and write chapter after chapter.

I'm a very fair person. If I know that it's been a while since I last updated, I post an extra long update to compensate for the long wait. I was supposed to space it out into four chapters, but I knew guys were waiting long. My last chapter was 17000 words in length, yet you still badger me to update soon about two days after?

I write those long chapters for a reason. So it'll be enough for everyone to read until I update again.

So please refrain from badgering me. By badgering, I mean stop posting update soon comments more than once on the chapter. It's not going to make me write any faster, it will just discourage me from writing it.

I had to get this off of my chest.

I think readers should comment what are there thoughts abot the chapter, how they feel about it, not "update soon" over and over again, that's usually what I do, cause I know it authors like those comments, they like to know what we think, if we liked the chapter, etc.

Have you ever had those comments on completed stories? Those are even more frustrating. I mean .... it's finished. What's left to update?

I hate that kind of comments as well. It's like they didn't respect or appreciate the current chapter and just waiting for the next.

That is why I don't like doing a story and people ask for "update soon" i would find that annoying and pressure on me... Id rather finish a few chapters or the story and then update with no problem.

I'm mean sure I'm up to date with your story and im anxious for the next chapter but I would say, "I can't wait for your next update" instead of saying "update soon" its understandable for people to get excited and wanting to read more of the story but sometimes everyone needs to chill out! When your ready to update you will.

I understand where you're coming from. I've never done an update soon comment because I know the author has other things to do besides writing new chapters

You should definitely post this in your next author's note. You're never obligated to write for them, Jessie. I feel you.

I understand what you mean. When i write update soon it doesnt really mean that you have to update every single day. It just shows that people are enjoying your stories & willing to support you & your story every step of the way. But also it has becoming a habit of mine when reading stories and commenting and then typing please update soon.... But the whole point is that i understand what you are saying. Sumbanim FIGHTING!
