Son Seungyeon was born on April 8, 1995 in Seoul, south Korea. She has two older brothers, who were very fond of her. She grew up in a happy and loving family. When she was 10 (2005), her parents sent her to the Philippines for three months to study english, as they did with her brother dongwoon a few years back (2000). She loved the place, the food, and most of all, the people, and she even considered studying in a university there when she goes to college...that is until she decided to become a singer.

When she came back to Korea, her life started to get a bit tougher. Being the children of a university professor and a high school teacher, she and her brothers were expected (By their relatives and other people and not really by their parents, ironically) to do well in class, to be at the top 3, at the very least. Seungyeon had never met those expectations; she never went above being the 7th in her class. Before her trip to the philippines, the people around her think that being 7th is still okay, she's still young, she'll still improve. But after her trip, they started expecting a lot more from her, like she went to the Philippines to get her brain literally upgraded or something. Everyone (except her parents & brothers because they love her too much lol) kept telling her to "be like her brothers." For some time, Seungyeon hated her brothers a bit because she hates being compared with other people, but her brothers were always supportive and encouraging, she couldn't keep hating them. She still doesn't like being in their shadows all the time, so she wanted to make a name for herself.

I don't remember how it started but i suddenly found myself blabbering about my family, and i was a bit embarassed by the fact that I talked too much, so I asked her about hers. She hesitated at first and i told her she doesn't have to tell me if she doesn't want to, but she ended up telling me about herself and her family anyway.

I've witnessed how hard she worked for our debut; i've been training with her almost every hour of every day. She takes her work seriously. She earned this spot in the group as much as the other members did. And honestly, if it weren't for her, the company wouldn't exist and our group wouldn't exist as well *laughs*
