Struggling

The Struggle of Writing

This is a little rant and I’m bored so I thought of writing this. Okay so a lot of the time I struggle to write. Like seriously the struggle is fricken real!!! Since I write my own stories I have to think about new things all the time and how to keep the story going, but most of the time I sit at my desk or on my bed just staring at the screen of my lap top and the page is still blank. I can’t think of anything else to write.

Also instead of focusing on the story I’m supposed to be focusing on, my mind wanders and starts coming up with a new story. I can’t even finish one and my brain already wants to write another one, like what the heck? I don’t really like taking long to update because sometimes I forget what I wrote about in the previous chapter and I have to go back and read it, which takes even more of my time. Even when I do I don’t have anything to write about, it takes me forever to think, this :(

I sometimes read other authors stories and some update like every day or few days and it takes me forever to update. The chapters are really long and it only takes them like a day to write it. I find it amazing how fast some people can update a new chapter. I need to know their secret. I’m I the only writer that’s like this? What helps you write? Anything would really help or you can rant about it in the comments.

Sometimes I update weekly, at one point I could update a 2k word chapter daily. I had my 30 day challenge (which turned into a 51 chaptered story instead) which I updated daily as well. And now I feel like it takes forever for me to update. At least some stories. I don't know. ; ^ ;
I read back to get "the feel of the story" and get into character and then I write a new chapter. But I usually feel frustrated as as well, when it's been a month like - omg, it's been so long. ;; I hate it. I don't know what to change it though. I force myself to write sometimes, just - write. And if I have a new idea, a separate idea, I write a oneshot just to get it out. I don't want to limit myself because I haven't updated a story but I don't want 148434897 ongoing stories either. So - I have a few ongoing chaptered and the rest is oneshots, if I get inspired to write more.

I totally agree with you. Sometimes I'm forgetful person and when I try to update something,I have to read the previous chapter to know where I stopped. Usually after that I know what to write,cause when I have free time or before I go to sleep,I concentrate on the story and imagine it in my head. And my mind gives me all the possible actions or scenes that could be used in the story. But sometimes it when I forget what I wanted to write and it takes more of my time to replay the story in my head.

oMG I'VE NEVER AGREED WITH A BLOG POST MORE. like i think about my stories 24/7 but it gets so hard when it comes down to actually writing it and i end up getting stuck. i'm always amazed by authors who write so much for a chapter.

and then i always get inspired and develop new plot ideas that i just want to write asdkjlf THE STRUGGLES. i want to write chaptered fics bc there's more feedback and room for character development but i'm so bad at finishing them lmao.

maybe a tip (although i'm hardly qualified xD) would be to get inspired/in the mood to write? i find that listening to music helps me.
