in the early hours of a cold 'morning' at around 4am on the 14th february in the year 1996, kwak sumin was born. many members of her family and family's very close friends that were in the hospital to see her were tired however, things started to liven up when they were able to see her as well as the fact that somehow, majority of them ended up singing a lovely rendition of stevie wonder's 'isn't she lovely?' which the people in the hospital found pretty cute however, were then told that they needed to be more quiet since patients were trying to sleep. just as the day she was born was known to be an event of love, sumin grew up with lots of love from her whole family thus why she has such a close relationship with them. her whole family adores her for they knew how much and how long jinyoung and ahreum (her parents) have been trying for a baby. sumin and her family lived in daegu surrounded by her extended family members up until she was eight years old, and that was the time when she moved to incheon which was much closer to where her parents' new workplace was. sumin was at first lonely and scared of a new environment, but it didn't take too long until she felt comfortable and gained friends especially due to her father who had a co-worker/friend who happened to have had a son close to her age, and he happened to be kim jongin, later more known as exo's kai and soon, sumin went back to her normal self.
# THOUGH TIME PASSES, THOUGH I FORGOT, IS IT STILL POSSIBLE? time passes, and during a lesson in school, she happened to have had a 'lesson' of sorts where they discussed about dreams particularly when they were younger and how they've changed. that brought sumin back to a time when she wished to be an idol, and would often sing songs whilst using a hairbrush as a microphone, and would make up dances which she would get her family and close friends to watch, and sometimes, they would join in with her as well as re-enact scenes from shows she would see on the tv and pretend she's in a cf. she went into such a deep thought with that, and in the end, she made up her mind in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. around that time, jongin was planning to audition for sm, and days before his audition, she went up to him and asked, "can i come with you and audition, too?" which he agreed to, and luckily, her parents gave her permission to do it. luckily, they both passed and became trainees—the year was 2007, and sumin was 11 years old. she was likeable and pretty talented however, most trainees before believed that she was only accepted due to her above-average looks so, sumin worked hard to show that she wasn't just a pretty face, and trainers have commented how she's improved so vastly, and at times was awarded by featuring in something or something similar. she ended up training in sm up 'til 2014 and ended up auditioning and training in big hit instead. she left sm for the chances of her debuting had now slimmed greatly for she wasn't even part of smrookies, and the fact that the smrookie girls they had were considerably much younger. a staff member from sm happened to hint to her to audition for big hit entertainment for she happened to have had a friend who told her that the company had plans of debuting a new girlgroup. she followed her advice, and thus why she's standing here and being included in show 'hello cupid' with other trainees and having a bigger chance to show that she's worth it to debut, and not wanting to have all her intense training go to waste...
