MINJI WAS BORN ON THE 4TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2001. SHE'S AN ONLY CHILD AND WAS SPOILT BY BOOKS INSTEAD OF TOYS SINCE IT WAS A VERY INTELLECTUAL FAMILY. MINJI WAS GROWN UP AROUND LITERATURE AND MUSIC, SINCE HER FATHER WAS AN EDITOR AND HER MOTHER WAS A MUSIC TEACHER. in 2008, minji's mother was diagnosed with vocal nodules and was unable to sing after sometime. after not being able to sing, minji's mother quit being a music teacher to become a house-wife. IN 2014 HER FATHER HAD A JOB OFFERING IN AUSTRALIA TO BECOME a full-fledged author and a korean literature teacher so hence the reason why the family had to move.
minji didn't adapt to the change. she was a year younger due to the korean age system and there was a whole new language to learn. she was placed in the 7th year, the first year in high school but never talked. she was made fun of by other students for being non-active in sports and for never speaking. minji barely had any friends. it was an all-girl school so practically everything was based on gossip. minji was treated horribly in school but never spoke to it to her parents. after the first semester ended and the second one started, the bullying had become more physical. bullies poured water and milk into her food, making minji not eat it. her food was spilled multiple times and name calling was definately worse, especially because minji did not know any of the slang words they were using.

after the third term, minji's parents finally found out about the bullying via the teacher and made the plan to go back to korea, where it was better suited for everyone. a few weeks after coming back to seoul, jellyfish entertainment was holding auditions so minji auditioned in hopes of shaking off the vivid memories of bullying. so far, minji has gotten a bit better in terms of socialising.
