PERSONALITY At first glance people might say that she's your typical girl-next-door who can at times be a tomboy, who loves to play with the guys. but that is only the case if you don't know her very well. Jin-kyeong is indeed an incredibly sweet girl, always there if you need a shoulder to cry on whether it's for something small like a bad grade or the end of a relationshipp, someone to comfort you, in case you fought with your parents or are just feeling blue, or just simply need help with something, be it homework or help with planning a surprise. It's just in her nature to lend a helping hand, that and she wants to see the people around her happy, for that she would go lengths to see a smile on their face, be it acting silly or just stay with them and talking with them until they feel better.

though that's just the surface everyone, outsiders, see. once you get closer to her, you will soon notice that she is unbelievably stubborn, especially once she decides on something, which explains why she refuses defeat when coming closer to a person who seems to reject her company. she will just keep trying and understand their situation and adjust, since she wants them to warm up to her. though this just shows the passionate side in her. Jin-kyeong is a very enthusiastic person, she always puts 100% in everything she does once she starts it, especially when it's a subject that is very dear to her. there are times that her passionate ways get on others nerves, if they are doing something tiring and she is still jumping around and trying to get them pumped up, still they can't help but smile when seeing her antics.
however, she may be very smart and observant when it comes to other people, usually at least, but when it comes to herself, she is unbelievably oblvious. it doesn't matter how obvious someone shows that they are interested in her romantically, she never notices a thing unless you tell her to her face. though it can be frustrating for others to watch this happen at times, it is useful when they plan a surprise party for her. nevertheless, the only things she is aware of, when it comes to herself, are the times someone is angry with her.
it also comes as a surprise that she is a bit feisty, who loves a good argument with someone about their views and opinions on certain topics that contain her interests. but if someone picks a fight with her, this doesn't mean that she would back down without a fight, no, in fact, she would probably smile sweetly as she verbally fights back with a honey-sweet like voice. her friends are still not sure, why she can be so terrifying when that happens. jin-kyeong is also a very straight-forward person, who doesn't shy back to tell someone off if she doesn't agree with their methods or their attitude. she always voices her opinion, to the point, wehre one may say that she is blunt. still,
however. underneath all that, there is a deep hidden core that she hates to let others see. she always tries her best not to let that out. the part of her that is incredibly insecure and fragile. due to the incident, where she lost her parents in an accident, she always feels that she is going to lose a person she is close to or simply doubts the decisions she made. every serious fight she has with a friend, hurts her deeply and makes her feel regret instantly once they part, but she always lets them cool off or so she hopes. she always fears afterwards that they will come to hate her, but once they make up, she feels instant relief. no matter how she may seem on the surface, always wearing a smile on her face, on the inside, she can very easily break. she doesn't want to show this side of her to anyone, so she always keeps quiet when it comes to her family or stuff that involves those emotions to come out. but at the same time, this is also the reason, why she easily detects other people's sadness and trying to cheer them up. she is very empathic.
BACKGROUND jin-kyeong was born and raised for the first 10 years of her life in berlin, germany. since germany was a country with a lot of diversity, she had no real problem fitting in with the other kids. although they were your average middle-class family, she had a very happy childhood with lots of friends. during that time, she took part in various activities, like art, music, sports, photography and practicing martial arts. also her parents were strict when it came to her origin, making sure that she speaks and understands the language fluently, she had to learn how to write korean and hanja at the same time, she was learning the western writing system. however, one day, she and her parents were on their way home after a fun day out, just spending time with each other, they got into a car accident. the driver was slightly drunk and drowsy, so he hadn't paid attention to their car, unlike her parents who did. due to that, her mother had instantly shielded her from future harm as her father tried to avoid him somehow. sadly, he couldn't make it and jin-kyeong lost consciousness for a couple of days because of the impact, but her injuries were minor since her mother protected her. but, once she came to, her past self immediately asked for her parents, only to be given the sad truth that they had passed away and she was currently in the care of her aunt and her husband, who were visiting for a month.
at that time it seems as if the world crashed down on her, after she received the news. she seemed like dead to the outside world, her friends and remaining relatives, jin-kyeong had just felt lost and insecure and kept asking herself 'what if' questions. there hadn't been a day, where she wished they made a different decision, like just staying at home or making surprise visits, but nothing could have been changed. she had to accept their death, which just broke her heart. during that time, her aunt had gotten custody of her, meaning that she will move have to move to their home in america. her aunt and husband thought that was a good idea, which they have to put into action soon since seeing her niece that way just made them want to cry. once it seemed as if she was feeling a little better, they had told her the news, jin-kyeong just accepted it and informed her friends, who promised they would stay in touch.
nevertheless, once they arrived, she still kept to herself, worrying her new family. she also had to adapt to the new house, which was awkward for her since her aunt's family was much wealthier than she had expected. her older cousins suggested that they should make her see a psychologist to let her grief over the death of her parents out and speak of her worries about this new life. it helped and she had started to smile more, but she had a rough school year. she had just started to learn english and just had 2 years of elementary school knowledge, making it hard for her to keep up with school. jin-kyeong also kept to herself and was quiet since she was still grieving over the fact that her parents died, making her an easy target for bullies. she had been bullied for weeks and she just took it without defending herself. however, a guy, max, put a stop to it before it could go too far and made her see that this couldn't go on. he had told her that he didn't know what happened to her or what's going on with her life, but she had to think about her family and their pain when knowing something like this is happening to her.
that was like a wake-up call for her. she started to think what her parents would do and think if they were still alive and knew this was happening to her. then she started to think about her new family, remembered their worries, pain and sadness after seeing her live like she had for the past months since the accident. jin-kyeong felt so stupid and regretful over her actions, she instantly thought that this couldn't go on and had to change back to who she was. the next time someone tried to bully her, she started to fight back and defended herself while verbally attacking the bullies, letting her thoughts about them out. they were dumbfounded and scared since she never reacted like that before. the whole school witnessed that excange and started to change their opinions about her, especially since she started to defend bully victims after that incident.
she began to open up more and be more like her old self, bringing joy to her family. she started to intensively study english and took up her old activities again. soon she became like her old self again. she and max became best friends, even when he had to move. they continued to stay in touch and she visits him in l.a. when holidays came up. the way she was now, no one would think she would have gone through such pain and tragedies, as she always kept a smile on her face now and started to act like her old self. she started a manga club, since she had an interest in it since she was young, and met many new interesting people. jin-kyeong actually first became interested in acting due to animes and voice actors. her interest intensified when her club started to adapt a one-shot manga as play and she had to play the main character. she gave it her best and when the play turned out to be a success, she felt an incredible rush, being able to give life to a character she adored. she wanted to feel that again.
when she was 15, she met her current boyfriend, he was a friend of max, whom she was introduced to during her visit. they started out as friends, but grew closer very fast. it seemed as if he cared for her very much, although they only started going out when she attended a boarding school for arts (traditional and performing). she had previously refused since she doesn't really believe in long distance relationships. at the age of 17, she decided to study abroad in korea, which lead to afight with her boyfriend since she insisted that they break up while she was away. in the end he gave in, but he said that they shouldn't contact each other during that time, he was still upset about it. she agreed to his condition, but made sure that they were still on good terms.
coincidentally, she was now a student, where her future tv love attends. jin-kyeong actually met myungsoo because a friend had asked her to give him her cookies as she had leave due to an appointment. it turned out that they were in the same club, she hadn't really noticed as she was still getting used to everything. they started getting closer after the incident and became best friends, who their friends would call 2 halves as they seemed to complete and match each other. they never thought anything of it, somehow he just seemed to be able to see through her, just like her boyfriend, but he let her have the space she needed. to jin-kyeong he was very important, but she didn't know if she would date him, especially since she still had feelings for her boyfriend.
she just decided to see what will happen, but when the time, when she had to leave, came nearer, she was apparently summoned by him. she had waited at the place, she was supposed to be, only to hear him say she was incredibly annoying and clingy and that he wished she could see how pathetic she seems. jin-kyeong was confused and her heart felt like breaking, be it due to the feeling of betrayal or heartache, she didn't know, she just wanted to flee. what she hadn't known, was the fact that myungsoo had talked about a different person with the same name as her, who had been bothering for a long while. it was a trap set by a girl friend of myungsoo, who was jealous of their close relationship and wanted her gone.
after that misunderstanding, jin-kyeong started to avoid myungsoo and when she left, she told him in tears that she was sorry for being such an annoyance to him, but he was a coward for not being honest with her, leaving him confused, but he couldn't ask her what she meant, since she had left the next day. he would only find out later what truly happened. when jin-kyeong came back to america, she was picked up by her old boyfriend and family. they immediately sensed something was wrong, but didn't say anything as they knew she wouldn't tell. she got back with her boyfriend and when he got scouted, she convinced her family to allow her to follow him. she didn't want to be seperated again after such a long time and she was interested in the korean drama world.

She learnt how to play the ukelele and the guitar from her father and is very good at them. jin-kyeong took them with her when she moved to korea. however, she gets agressive when someone touches them. she is scared of it accidentally getting broken.
she prefers to write music herself than singing it, though she does like both.
jin-kyeong actually had several voice acting roles in amateur anime's created by her and her friends, under her nickname miyu.
she still enjoys voice acting and tends to do variou kinds of characters when she thinks she is alone.
one of the recent things she likes to do is trying out recipes from cooking mangas, from making simple onigiri to baking cakes.
she likes to create cosplay outfits, but rarely dresses in one of them.

on camera: at first he is like his on stage persona, cold, cool,mysterious and distant, not really showing any emotions during the camera. he tries to keep that image, but that immediately crumbles when they finally recognize each other again. he can't keep the surprise showing on his face. soon he behaves on camera just like he is off camera. he is his shy, awkward and dorky self. he has times when he thinks that he offended her and tries to make it better again. he doesn't take the lead often, but when they talk about photography or manga, his shyness melts away. he talks in detail and voices out his opinion and dislike. he starts to behave just like he did when they were in school. he jokes around with her and they play pranks on each other. although she was back in new york, they continued to talk, be it through video calls or just chatting. he made her smile as she does him while they talked. they continued to grow closer, asking what was new, what happened that day and so on. one day, she told him that she isn't going to be available for a while due to some things. he was curious, but hadn't questioned it. he knows she would probably tell him what it was. during that time, she was going through some preparations for her transfer. once everything was done, she went to l.a. and went to the skatepark, where she was pretty sure he was going to be. jin-kyeong had surprised him with her sudden appearance, causing him to fall off his board. she was surprised and ran to him asking him if he was alright. he just sat there dumbfounded and asked out loud if she was an illusion or real. at that, she laughed and just hugged him, saying surprise.
after that incident, she informed him that she had transferred to a boarding school here. mark didn't show it, but secretely he was really happy. they caught up during their reunion. afterwards they met more often, jin-kyeong started to get attracted to him, but she never said anything or showed any indications of her feelings. in the meantime, mark decided to just go for it, so when his birthday came and they had partied with friends, he took her to a place, where they can talk in peace. he had asked her out and she smiled happily as she said yes. they were happy together, growing even closer to each other, finding new sides to the other. as the months passed by, they also began to notice the sides their partner wants to hide. like jin-kyeong's vulnerable side. they started to understand each other more, but still were careful around some topics.
but then jin-kyeong told mark about her studying abroad, she would have been gone for a year and a half. they started to fight because she wanted to break up, but they had been close to their one year anniversary. it pissed mark off that she let her insecurities make the decision. he was disappointed that she doesn't trust him, he wanted to tell her to at least try, but he saw in her eyes she would never give in to that request. this was one of the times, where he hates her stubborness. jin-kyeong herself knew that what she asked for is too much, but she can't help herself. she cries and just keeps apologizing and mark reluctantly gave in. however, he was still mad and he knew it'd hurt if they were going to behave like before, so he requested that they won't contact each other during that time. they both knew it would be hard on both them, but jin-kyeong agreed. they both felt sad and their hearts felt heavy as she departed. but they still made peace, knowing they just want the best for the other.
when she came back, mark picked her up with her aunt and her family, as they hadn't seen her in a while. but as soon as he saw her, he knew something happened. her eyes had seemed broken, it was as if she had seen someone die in front of her. once they were alone, he simply took her in his arms and just comforted her. he had rubbed her back soothingly and just talked about everything that she had missed. she thanked him and squeezed him tight and asked mark to never betray her. he was surprised at her request, but still promised her that he would never do something like that. he would break up with her before that happens.
after a few weeks, when she seemed well again, he asked her what happened that made her like that. jin-kyeong didn't tell him everything, just that someone she thought she was close with, seemed to just pretend to like her and in reality hated her and talked about her behind her back. mark didn't ask any further, he'll let her talk when she wants to. it didn't take long before the two began to get back together again.
they were happy, even with a few fights here and there. then mark got scouted and he would have to leave this time. jin-kyeong didn't want to be apart again, so she told him, she would go with him.mark was surprised, but definitely relieved, this time they wouldn't break up again.
