BACKGROUND: I grew up in a family that consists of 2 sisters and a father and a mother. my sisters name are lee Harin and Lee chaerin. LEe chaerin sounds familiar, right? That's because, 2ne1's leader, CL, is my big sister. us in general are all really close and my other sister and I visit her very often.
But anyways as I grew up, I knew that I wasn't outgoing as the rest of my family, I prefer writing, rather than speaking. Sometimes when I walk to school with Harin, I think I have the power of invisibility, (I am the legit Tetsuya Kuroko) because they would come to her while I just get shoved out of the barrier of people. But I didn't really care, because I will get noticed for myself one day. I had one friend and he was like, the immature choding who likes to make a joke all the time, but he always end up making me smile on the hardest days.
When my Chaerin debuted when I was in elementary school, since Chaerin picked my sister and I up from school since I was in nine, all the kids knew that she was my big sister. So by the time I was thirteen I was the most "popular" kid in my class, because I was labeled as "CL's Little brother" Everything changed, boys who didn't hang out with me, started to invite to parties, girls who wouldn't even give me the time of day, started to flirt with me. I tolerated and ignored it until I started high school. A lot of people called me "SL"and that's when I told them "My name is Sungrin, not SL." But still people kept trying to befriend me to get closer to my sister. I ignored it but there was one comment that made me snapped "I would so make a better brother than you." after a twitching of my eye, I started to swear at that kid, which ended with me going to the principal office.
After that I started to distance myself from CL because I hated being compared to her. I didn't like smiling because with my eye smile I look more like her. Then one day when she call me that familiar, bitter name, SL. That's when I yelled at her yelling that I hated her that I don't have my own name anymore. We got in to a big argument and me storming out of our house. That's where I discovered healing of rap. I saw a rap battle that was taking place. I saw that how there was such anger in their voices and at the end of the battle they just seem cool with each other. I was planning to leave but the MC called me out. I was frozen in my mind, yet my feet were moving to the center of the circle. There was no beat, but thank god that the other guy went first. I observed that he was just going with what he was comfortable with what he was talking about (hard life). When It was my turn I rapped about how, I was always compared to the people around me so much, I started tp forget my own identity. Suprisingly, I won. Then I went home I was no longer angry, but I was filled with regret. So luckily CL was sleeping here since she was off from promotions and I apologized to her and explained to her why I was pissed off at her and what made me come back. She told she understands but then ended it on the lines "No matter what, You're still my brother." I thought the fight would make us weak but it just made us stronger.
After that I staretd to practice rapping, with the help of my older sister. She mentored me about trap and writing. She worked with me on my breathing, flow and diction. She told me I was a natural but I know that was still lacking. When she wasn't there, I would practice writing I've been doing that for three years, I'm far from amazing but I'm good. I fell in love with rap because, it's not just rhymes and beats, it's my stressreliever. Now that Cl is not promoting, she helps with my rapping and wished me the best when I decided to try out for the show.

ORIGINS: I am in my last year of high school. I'm not the smartest student but i'm ranked in somewhere between 15-20. But atleast i'm not considered dumb. I don't study much, because I focus more on rapping now. I wanted to be an idol, but Cl advised me not to because, the training is hard. I don't do underground rapping because, usually the places that hold legit rap battles are in underground clubs. So I post some videos of me on youtube. I have built of a fanbase of over 5.000 suscribers. But now I want to get off the computer screen to the small screen.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION FOR SMTM?
~i CAME TO sHOW ME THE MONEY BECAUSE, i WANT TO EARN THE RIGHT TO CALL MYSELF A RAPPER. BECAUSE, i BELIEVE THAT THE TITLE SHOULD BE EARNED NOT SOMETHING YOU CALL TO YOURSELF such a title.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN FROM BEING ON THE SHOW?
~I hope to gain more charisma and have more presence when I rap. Because, that's always been a problem because when I rap, i am heard but I'm not seen.

~I want to be on team amoeba culture because they have so much style and energy on stage and charisma has always been my weak point and something that I want to work on.

~I think it would be all the idols. Mostly because, since they're idols they performed to much more places and in front of much more people than i have in the past three years I've been rapping.
WHO DO YOU ADMIRE MOST AS A HIP HOP ARTIST?
~I have to say Cl because, If i don't, she'll kill me. But seriously, I do admire her a lot as a hip-hop artist because, she can compose, sing and rap plus she has so much stage presence and such presence in her voice. If i could take anything from her it would be her charisma.
WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
~I mostly draw my inspiration from what happens with me and my personal life and things that happen with society these days.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IDOL RAPPERS?
~IN the words of "idol rapper" we tend to focus on "idol" rather than "rapper". Yeah, they're idols, but they must obviously be talented as a rapper in a group or soloist or else they wouldn't be here and I'm sure that are trying to prove to themselves and other that they are just a rapper. Not an idol rapper. just a rapper.
do you have a fanbase? If so, is it predominantly male? female? why?
~On my youtube channel I have over 5, 000 suscribers so, I guess I do have a fanbase. It's mostly female because, usually they would add a "cute" or "Adorable" to comment on my videos. So, I guess they just watch for my looks, but I disabled the comments on my videos after my 5th video because, I wasn't getting the feedback that I wanted.
what's your on stage personality like?
~My onstage personality is like a bad boy-persona. Because, I don't like to smile at the competition, but I will smile if I/my team wins.
DO you curse openly?
~Only secretly, because my noonas and my parents will give me when heck of a scolding and beating. (this isn't going to air, right?)
WHAT is your attitude towards the other competitors (in general)?
~I can give off the cold, flower boy vibe. But, if you don't judge people by dramas and take the time to know me, I can be very friendly, but I'll still you as a bit of a competition, friend or no friend.
HOW well known are you as a rapper?
~I'm not that known, but I do manage to get recognized by a couple of fans on the street and it's well known that I eat at "B-tea" (not a real place) a lot so, i'm a regular face there. But, me being a rapper doesn't compare to how well known as i am as "CL's baby brother".
