appearance 〉 at the cutest height of 155 cm but a not so cute weight of 56kg, seonhwa is the force that you don't want to mess with. people often mistake her for being a ball of cuteness from her size alone, sometimes also attributing her slight eye smile and bright smile to such idea, but the reality is that she's more similar to her fiery red hair that she's permanently dyed (and retouches every 6 weeks). pulled up high into a ponytail and constantly swinging as she paces around the room trying to figure out how to improve the newspaper, she's practically hard to miss from a country away with how pigmented her hair color is and how violent it looks from far away.
what's even more notable to oh seonhwa would be her puffy cheeks that she lovingly calls swollen but is otherwise just chubby to everyone else (ie. seokjin and minseok). seonhwa has heard so many things about her cheeks that she would be surprised if someone came up with something new to describe how big they are: how fluffy they are that people want to take a bite, how you could probably bounce a coin off of it and it would fly in the air, how she could easily eat ramyeon all she wanted and no one could tell if her face was swollen or not because her cheeks are permanently that way. but to her, the only time she finds her cheeks charming is either when she smiles from genuine joy or when someone she cares about affectionately pinches her cheeks.
otherwise there's nothing else too special about seonhwa's outer appearance. she has her ear lobes pierced, she likes to wear or light pink nail polish, and smells like rose water thanks to her perfume because seokjin once said that the flower and it's multitude of colors reminded him of her and the idea has stuck onto her like glue.
style 〉 for seonhwa there's something comforting about being in skirts and dresses compared to wearing shorts or jeans. while her attitude is brash and her tongue is crass, she is definitely a girl's girl when it comes to what clothes she wears. outside of school uniforms it seems that seonhwa is forever stuck in skirts and dresses and it amuses the crew as she is always the one to whine whenever she's compared to a barbie doll. no matter the length, she'll wear it as long as it doesn't seperate her legs, even though she knows she'd be drowning in cloth if she dared to wear a skirt past her knee caps let a lone a maxi dress. varying in colors from black and white to pastel yellow and green, her collection of "feminine" clothing is vast and not as limiting as her personality would've usually have been.
in times when she does have to wear something other than a skirt, it's usually the same pair of pale blue skinny jeans that match with whatever top she has in her closet. the other girls and seokjin will complain that she has no variety and will occasionally try to slip in either a darker pair or one of a random color (pink, seokjin thought it'd match her collection of pink clothes― unfortunately she screamed bloody murder and forced him to wear it instead, to everyone's distain) but sadly those pairs of pants will be discarded to the back of the abyss called her closet. and shorts? what are those, she has no idea what the concept of those are, like what the actual ?
for footwear seonhwa is pretty open minded to such concept. though her collection isn't as wide as her dresses and skirts it's still enough that she is sometimes forced to clean out her 2nd closet bi-annually. from multiple pairs of black and white converses (namjoon approves), to leather boots obviously scuffed from episodes of kicking yoongi's off the crew couch, to heels that give her enough cm to try to reach jimin's height― seonhwa will wear anything that makes her feel comfortable and maybe stylish.

about me 〉 for her there are only two sets of volumes that are relevant to her: loud and louder. as the group's microphone and intel of what's going on in at school, she is the one that everyone goes to when they either need to know something or need something to be known. some people find her intimidating due to her rash and brash personality but when it comes down to it she just is determined to be known whether people like it or not. bottom line: if she's in the room and is silent that means trouble is coming your way.

(actually the real truth is that she's the king but for the sake of not tooting her own horn she'll settle for second best). as the school's editor in chief for the school newspaper one wouldn't think that the publication isn't a big deal but when you have someone like her managing a staff that produces award winning pieces such as the exposé on the cafeteria food (which happened to be the same food being served in jails) during her sophomore year or the editorial on the new and hottest biology the high school has ever seen during her junior year, one would have to wonder how she does it.
in truth, seonhwa is a natural extrovert and a socialite at heart; always the first one to make the intial greeting and determined to get the last word she comfortably leads in conversations and interactions because she knows that it's hard to get the ball rolling when no one wants to step up and get over the silent tension of getting to know people. for some they admire seonhwa for being for social and captivating; the way she speaks has a lot of variety and she seemingly blends in naturally with any crowd she's presented to, never feeling too out of place with whomever she speaks to. even the way she enunciates words makes people ease into her charming facade that allows others to feel free to express whatever they are thinking. for others it's a burden because sometimes she just speaks too well that sometimes too much is let out, and it's unlike her to not be paying enough attention to forget every single detail said. her words can be like riddles and tongue twisters: worded carefully to confuse those that talk to her to become so comfortable that they themselves become vulnerable to her tatics to pinpoint weaknesses in others. while most of the time it isn't intentional, she doesn't mean to purposely strike fear in others, she's too smart to not take advantage of such opportunity. and when others try to play her game she can't help but become a bit cocky and effortlessly dodge such attacks because- lets be real- she was the one who created the game so it's no surprise she would know what to do if people would try to lure her into such easy traps of double meanings and word play.
but at the end of the day what makes oh seonhwa the successful editor of the newspaper and number one source for everything related to high school would be her tenacity to be the best. described as "everyone's worst nightmare" seonhwa is everything you don't want but absolutely need in a leader: someone that is hardworking to the point of , sometimes too overly ambitious and maybe a little rough with her delivery (both physically and vocally). while she isn't adamant on finishing her chemistry lab report or her calculus homework, she will (and has) dedicated hundreds of hours endlessly reading and writing for the sake of satisfying her passion of all things literaure, and with such dedication grants her such a vast vocabulary and seemingly sophisticated library of quotes (most of them being some form of back handed sass). because of her passion for writing, and the newspaper in general, she has also gained a strange mentality of needing everyone else that works with her (whether its the paper or a school project) to be on the same level with her in terms of getting done fast and right on the first try. ten times out of ten though people can't keep up and having such people unable to keep up only makes the ambitious seonhwa need to pull out her metaphorical whip and crack it to scare others. while others may mutter that she's a slave driver, hounding at people to get things done, she will happily smile at them and only agree before pushing their head back down to force them to continue working. she knows she shouldn't act in such a matter because "good relationships make great work" but there's still a dark part of her that is too proud and selfish to not force others to play her way.
otherwise, oh seonhwa is just kinda like everyone else. she's terribly fickle in deciding if she likes pie or cake, which boyfriend is the better boyfriend, and if the color pink ever really does look good on her. like all high school girls are she is a bit shallow and often picks looks over heart and sometimes says stupid she doesn't mean, but that's what life is all about right? as long as she picks herself up and dusts off her dirty knees and remembers to compliment herself at least 5 times a day, she'll live to see tomorrow and the tomorrow after that.

003 : history and relationships
background 〉though she doesn't broadcast her personal life out to the student body, becuase she really isn't that type of person to brag about materialistic things of such nature, it's implied that oh seonhwa is from a rich background― which is only half true; coming from a family of a successful stock broker father and a bank teller mother and two older brothers (one that's a newly graduated pharmacist, the other who is an aspiring archeologist) they are a modest upper middle class family. she's always lived comfortable enough to not have many financial worries: there was always a guarenteed dinner on the table at the end of the day and she never really had any clothes with holes in them (unless she made them herself), but its not like she could casually walk into any store and buy the entire stock without making a dent in her (parent's) bank account. now that her brothers have or were in the process of finishing university money has become a little tighter in anticipation of her own journey of higher education

/ yoongi : though yoongi himself is convinced that no one knows about his love for hiphop, seonhwa can empathize with him as she also appreciates the music like him. because they're so close in age these two have a comfortable friendship like her and seokjin but often get in alot of spats because of their hot-headed personalities; more often than not their fights are playful and never serious but when they do get to that point yoongi will usually be the one of bend and forgive first because a) he's a man, he shouldn't act so childish and b) seonhwa is a girl, she'll take forever to get over her own ego. yoongi is the one that usually snaps her snarky comments about the other members to her. 9/10 they're about namjoon.
/ hoseok : what she sees as literal sunshine, she finds solace in hoseok when everyone and everything is being annoying to her. she's not extremely close to him but she's still good enough friends with him that they just get into alot of heart to heart talks when the others are busy with other things. she can see the passion he has for dance and loves watching him practice and he admires her persistance for perfection for the newspaper and always comments on it whenever a new edition comes out. surprisingly he's very observant and thoughtful so when things such as love comes up she's surprised that he even knows what he's talking about (because she's not one to truly divulge in her history).
/ namjoon : sure, she doesn't trust him with anything in his posession, but she does trust in his words. first and foremost namjoon is the most intelligent of the bunch, something everyone forgets because of his dangerous hand, but she appreciates it because it takes a lot of effort to be so smart and have the dedication to study so hard. while they do hang out casually with and without the rest of the crew, they mostly share an academic friendship where they often do work together because he excells in math and she excells in literature. sometimes she'll even let him help edit the newspaper, and by help it's more like she forces him to beta her beta-ing. she still doesn't trust anything in his posession though. also she may or may not have made fun of him one too many times, but it's not like he complains... much.
/ jimin : being the representative for males in their own little sub-unit called #funsized, jimin empathizes when people tease (or try to) seonhwa about her height. seonhwa usually repays him by being his knight in a shining skirt and will retaliate anyone that teases him (which is usually just the crew themselves) because she's seen him when he's frustrated and angry and those are times when her inner mother comes out and lends a shoulder for him to cry on. she knows jimin has a heart of gold and shouldn't be messed with so she doesn't try to annoy him, but when she does she tries to do it with a lot of affection. at times though she won't tolerate jimin's charm because she knows he's truly acting cute or y just to get into her wallet. yeah, her wallet.
/ taehyung : as the only one she claims to be her precious child despite having 12 other members to consider as children, taehyung is as sweet as candy floss to seonhwa and she can't help but reciprocate such love. though most people can't get over his 4th dimensional personality she finds it his biggest charm and waves off anything strange he says and seemingly just understands whatever he's trying to convey. sometimes seonhwa can't handle his randomness though and tries her best to bite her tongue because of her love for him so she usually keeps it in until she has time to talk to seokjin in order for him to talk to taehyung about it as he's the true father between the two of them.
/ jungkook : though they aren't as close with each other compared to everyone else, seonhwa still tries to be affectionate with the most mature member of the crew. lovingly calling him "little fetus" as he calls her "big fetus", the two have a friendship that spands over casual text messages and snapchats at random times of the day, especially at 2am when neither of them can sleep. sometimes seonhwa wishes he just chill out and have some fun as often as the rest do but then she thinks about it more and she becomes thankful that he's not as rowdy as the rest.

but with every handsome knight in shining uniforms is the fact that the flawless complexion they have obviously have some kind of crack deep inside of their armor. for seokjin its the fact that even though he's kind, he's too kind. so kind that even if he's borderline he'd probably sacrifice his boxers just to keep your hair from frizzing up from the summer rain. if you asked any member of the sweg crew you would've at least encountered a story about how selfless seokjin was where the situation was too ridiculous for him to be acting in that matter ("one time in anatomy the pig we were dissecting spontaneously combusted in front of us. yoongi made fun of me but seokjin hyung calmly put out the flames with his favorite pair of gardening gloves and bought me a cookie to make me feel better" namjoon recalls, being randomly interviewed by an unidentified reporter). but more often than not, seokjin is too good for himself that he often silently beats himself up for it. he personally knows he's not the most brash or brave of the bunch, often preferring to stay out of conflict and always watching his step before jumping into any conclusions, and if he did have the will he would speak up but he doesn't. maybe its the fact that he doesn't want to conflict with someone else's ideas or he's just comfortable with his position as the kind soul, but in general seokjin knows he needs to eventually grow a spine and be the man everyone thinks he is but truly isn't.

➤ you're cute, i'm cute, let's date : even before the creation of the sweg crew, once upon a time in a distant land, kim seokjin and oh seonhwa did date.
cue all the surprised gasps in the audience.
while the idea may sound so farfetched now it does loosely explain why the two are crew pairs and are fairly close despite being complete polar opposites of one another. but before anything gets lost in translation the beginning of seonhwa and jin's story dates back to junior high, the year prior to entering high school, as the two were classmates in the same school. after happily jumping into puberty with seokjin's limbs growing taller than the list of words seonhwa could speak in a minute and seonhwa's beauty blooming nicely like a rose seokjin had carefully grown, the two were naturally attracted to each other by their new found looks. so obviously it was inevitable that these two beautiful people would date, right? right. their relationship was as innocent as all cliched romances were: going on cute coffee dates, holding hands as they sit in history class with their teacher's back faced to them, leaving small declarations of love within cute post-it notes pasted on their lockers. for those that knew of their relationship often envied them as it was too perfect not to stare at; they were a match made in junior high school, even the usually boyish seonhwa couldn't deny that this was what she thought love should be like and openly hoped it would last forever.
➤ high school blues : but alas with all good things, they must all come to an end, right? for seonhwa, she didn't expect their end to come so soon, and especially didn't anticipate seokjin being the one to end it. (quite frankly it still bugs her and some people that knew of this relationship that he really was the one that ended it) but as their time in junior high was ending, seokjin knew that the pretty flower that seonhwa was couldn't be held back by someone like him. sure, he's still confident that he's more handsome and prettier than anyone, but seonhwa was in a whole different league of the social food chain. she needed to thrive in the jungle of high school and claim her spot at the top with the way she carries herself. by this point of the application i probably fell asleep. i have no idea where this is going. oops. thus when he approached her that fateful night with all of their traded couple items and a frown etched on his face she knew she was in for a long night of tears and a never ending craving for ice cream and wanting to punch someone in the face (but not seokjin because "it's okay, he has the right intentions, i can do better than him now")
though that never really happened.
since coming to high school seokjin hasn't ever dated another girl because he just had no will to. for a second he thought of turning gay because maybe it would've been nice to be cared for instead of caring for, but then he met namjoon and yoongi and preferred to care for others because it was safer that way. whether it was because his standard was set too high to compare any other girl to seonhwa or the fact that he wasn't in the mood to put enough effort to date, everyone in high school continued to admire the boy from afar, and silently continued to wonder if he would ever find someone to love more than flowers in the gardening club. (at one point hoseok was purely convinced that seokjin only loved to tend to flowers because they were pretty to look at and easy to talk to because they didn't back, which to be honest is completely reasonable)
for seonhwa she did the opposite as the breakup did become a catalyst for her to catapult herself up to the ranks of
➤ and now i pronounce you mother and father : fast foward to present day, and after two years of not talking, seokjin and seonhwa came to their senses and eventually began talking noramlly again. seeing the two of them together often makes people scratch their heads in confusion with their polar opposite personalities but with seokjin's benevolent nature and seonhwa's tendancy not to care about what people think, those judgements hardly ever affect them. as the sweg crew became official it was only seokjin that was formally invited to join as seonhwa's intimidating personality surprisingly did scare yoongi and even at the suggestion of seokjin didn't change his opinion to invite her into the club. it was her ear that led her to finding the group's existance and her persistance to exploit deep dark secrets (yoongi's love for hiphop, being one of them) that allowed her access to the group. intially there was obvious tension but with the help of seokjin, seonhwa was gladly accepted within the group.
in terms of origin stories, it was taehyung that dubbed seokjin and seonhwa the parents of the sweg crew, as he was the doted child of the group compared to the ever stubborn jungkook. with sekojin's affinity to being kind and seonhwa's tendancy to step up and lead the group when they become to obnoxious to handle, the crew happily agreed, and laugh at the pair as they humbly accept their roles while cringing at the thought of being paired together.
even though they still look perfect together there is always something that has to ruin it; for them it's in the form of the soccer team's captain kim minseok. while in the past seokjin had been tolerant seeing his previous ex girlfriend date guys left and right there was something that always bothered him about those two together, but could never pinpoint it to an exact reason.
regardless, it came to a surprise to everyone that minseok and seonhwa worked so well together despite the fact that the introverted team captain never glanced at any girl and seonhwa didn't bully him into the relationship as she previously would. they have lasted for 3 months and were only believed to last for more if something didn't come to stop it but nothing ever did. for once seonhwa began to believe in love and deep inside the glimmer of hope of happily ever afters could potentially shine again.
but on the other hand, the fact that there has been less of a smile on seokjin's face lately has (oddly) made her heart sting a bit.
➤ the fault in our friendship : though you know what they say: opposites do attract. and maybe there'll come a day when seokjin will be brave enough to corner seonhwa to tell her his feelings for her. or maybe seonhwa will come out of her denial that she does want seokjin and not someone like him. but who knows?
aka yoongi has a bet with namjoon and jungkook that seokjin wouldn't be the guy to break up seonhwa and minseok but the other two disagree.
