ariannaㅡwho goes by the nickname 'riann'ㅡis a normal living creature born at london bridge hospital from (obviously) london. her father is welsh and her mother is korean. riann never bothered to know more of how they met, or what their past lives are, but all she knows is that her mother was found by her father sleeping on a bench near big ben. turns out, her tour bus left without her and due to her tiredness, she randomly fell asleep. riann thought that it was funny yet so sweet; how they manage to meet and fall in love despite the cultural barriers.
as a kid, riann always had interest in singing, it was quite obvious since her mother and father used to be in bands when they were young and her older brother loves to play the piano and guitar. her mother would gladly accompany her to her choir practices and would cheer her on when she joins any contests. at the age of 6, she managed to win 5 competitions out of 8 of what she joined. her father rarely had time to watch because of his work, but riann understands. she could never hate her family. her older brother, brian, would always make fun of her after her performances, but riann knows that he's just being playful.
she studied at london until she was 9. during those times, she participated in many recitals. her last performance at london was a musical, a performance for the closing of the current school year. she landed a role as 'cosette' for the play 'les miserables'. videos weren't allowed but her mother managed to record her daughter's voice ( x ). when she went to korea with her mom, that was when she started to dream of being a korean singer. she even stated it when she was a guest at star king ( x | ignore the (2008) label ).
after a few more appearances, she was offered to train at ccm entertainment, to which her parents gladly accepted since riann also wanted it. she was trained to dance and sing but even after 4 years, her debut is still unsure. her parents told her that maybe it's time to switch companies, but she asked for 1 more year. after that 1 year though, unfortunately, she still hasn't debuted. with her older brother helping her with auditioning, she successfully landed a spot at sm entertainment. she passed the two other rounds of auditioning and sm stated on her contract that if she was able to reach their standards before 2014, she would debut.
TRAINEE LIFE:
riann wasn't really bullied or anything during her trainee days because of the fact that she's not fluent in korean. actually, they all tried to understand her situation. usually, she's known as the 'british girl who sings at star king'. it's because of the fact that it's the reason why she's scouted. training at ccm wasn't that hard, but it wasn't so easy either. she's studying at an international school at korea because she still finds it more comfortable when she's around foreigners like her, even though she's half korean. after 5 years of training at ccm, her family told her that it's best for her to choose another company.
with the help of her brother, she managed to find sm entertainment.
