EXO - My Response

Hi guys. I haven't been keeping up with EXO's situation lately. I'm really sorry to hear about the whole rumoured departure of Tao, and how Lay deleted all of his Instagram pics, and how Xiumin also deleted his account.

I feel like the more popular one group gets in the K-pop world, the more they are pushed to show better appearances, better performances, better everything. Really. But that's just about how every entertainment agency earns money. They have a particular group/individual that just happens to catch everybody's eye, and then they push and push and push that one group/individual to greater heights.

When that happens, someone is bound to get hurt, give up, break. They'll find that it's all too much, and that it's quite literally killing them to keep going. And EXO is only human. Sure, they have the talents, the perseverance, to have gotten this far. But don't you think someone will eventually reach the end of their rope? Koreans support this K-pop way of life. What if it becomes too much for one person?

EXO has gotten insanely popular. How do the other groups feel now? B.A.P, NU'EST, WINNER, TeenTop, B1A4. Their companies are probably pushing them even harder to show better images! To get to that peak. To climb higher than EXO.

'We Are One' is EXO's catchphrase. What if, no matter how hard they are trying to stay together, something drives them apart? Be it family, S.M, regret, resentment. And despite all that, their song 'Call Me Baby' is... I don't even know anymore, but that song hit really high on who knows how many charts.

Koreans may be strong enough for this way of life. But you've also got foreigners coming in to join the groups. Homesickness?! The desire to speak in their native language? Their families, friends, relatives they left behind to pursue this dream?! Heck, I have considered auditioning as a singer. I have even thought up scenarios where I get a leave of absence around 4 times a year and visit whoever the heck I want!

I'm still caught up in that dream. But now.... It doesn't seem worth it. I know I would be crying at least every other night, not knowing how the health of the people I love, cherish, and care about, is.

It's tough. It's happened to me before. I'm just about breaking.

I'm not the type of person to wail in despair over a member leaving. It's just not my style. EXO will always be one of those great groups that caught my eye, that I hope I will never forget. '3.6.5' was the first Korean song I ever heard. I fell in love with Baekhyun's voice. I don't think I'll ever forget that feeling of comfort.

I hope I didn't offend anyone by posting this. I'm open to discussion.

I don't mean that EXO fans are stupid, but they say a lot of hurtful sh*t, and that goes for other fandoms too

I'm glad that at least some EXO fans have a brain. Knets are calling Tao a traitor, but why? Because he's hurt? Because his family are worried about him?
