I'm disappointed, but at the same time I'm not?

This isn't an angry rant or anything, I swear. This is me just honestly trying to let out some feelings here.

I've literally just heard that EXO is having a Tokyo Dome concert, and I feel conflicted.

I'm happy for them. Oh gosh, I'm really happy for them, I really am. I'm proud of them, because I really do love EXO. A lot of people seem to think that I hate EXO but I really don't. While I'm not happy with a lot of what the fans have done, I don't in any way hate EXO. The fans and the group are two different things.

But at the same time, I'm terribly upset by this. I think it's just a hit to the pride.

Because I'm not trying to say that EXO doesn't work hard. I know that those boys have worked their hardest to get to where they are now. I really do.

But I just don't feel like Tokyo Dome is truly something they've earned, you know? And this isn't just me being a hurt Shawol. It's really not. Because it's not just SHINee that have been to Tokyo Dome. So have SNSD, TVXQ, and Super Junior, and they are all groups that I love dearly. What I'm trying to say though, is that EXO has spend nearly the amount of time that previous SM groups have to get to Tokyo Dome. They don't even have a single Japanese song.

Have they even shown any interest in Tokyo Dome before it was announced that they were going?

And I'm not trying to say that it's bad that they're going, because it's not. Its a great achievement. I just feel as though its rushed is all, because I don't think that they've gotten to the stage where they've really earned the privelege. Like, I understand EXO's popularity, I do. And I know that they're an amazing group despite my dislike for their live performances. That is my opinion that I choose to stick to. While I love their albums, I don't think they sound good live. But you know, you have your opinion and I have mine. Just because I don't think they sound good live doesn't mean that I don't like them. They just aren't my favorite.

I think my biggest problem with it all is that, in all the years that I've known SHINee, Tokyo Dome is something they strived for. Tokyo Dome was their absolute dream. To them, it was the of their career and though I know that I shouldn't feel like this, I feel as though EXO going to Tokyo Dome has sort of shattered that. Because they've been out for three years, no Japanese songs, I've never heard them mention Tokyo Dome before, and suddenly they're just there? With a 3 day show no less, when SHINee had been waiting for the chance to be there for four years and they got a two day concert.

And don't get me wrong. SHINee made the most of those two days. I wasn't there, but I listened to the live audio streaming, and you can believe me that I cried my eyes out with all the pride.

And again, EXO going to Tokyo Dome isn't a bad thing, I'm proud of them.

I just wish it hadn't been now. I wish it were when they actually showed the true desire to go there, you know?

The only words I'm going to say, EXO gets everything so ing easy. So ing easy. And easy success fades away the quickest. Im nothing like you've said, I'm not proud at all. I don't even like them. I kind of feel sorry for all of them, I truly pity them. With all the Tao stuff that's flooding my notifications (goddammit) , everything bad that's happening to exo I kind of expected it already. This Tokyo Dome upsets me, I'm disappointed in Tokyo Dome, I don't think it is as legendary as I thought anymore.

I feel you. This is actually the first time I'm learning about this and it saddens me and I feel kind of insulted as a shawol. Granted that EXO's talent can never compare with SHINee, no offense. I just think being 5 in a group is more difficult thab 10. And yes, they may havr more fans now, again 10 boys! I think having a Tokyo Dome concert without a Japanese album is really cocky. But I get why SM is doing it now. They're at the pinnacle of their popularity so they want to milk it for all its worth because who knows when they'll become 9, 8 or just completely disband, right? Ugh! I'm starting to not like exo without even watching a single performance. Oh I remember I watched some of them when they did a terrible version of WSS. Again, no offense and this is just my opinion.

To be honest. I think it's the place itself Tokyo Dome that invited EXO to perform there. It went so well with the ones before and SHINee that they wanted another great group to join. So I happy for EXO. But remember it's money and sellings and all that jazzz. Tokyo dome will come into so much for EXO

I 100% agree with you! I don't think it's amazing when i heard about it, i just like 'what? That fast?' cause compared to other group, they need years and japan songs to tokyo dome and it's not three years with no japan song

some people think TD has lost its significance now....i was disappointed too...it feels like fame and popularity is all that matters nowadays--groups keep competing against each other. before, kpop used to be something fun- i remember when groups collaborated and did funny stages together... i'm not saying that EXO doesn't work hard since SM keep pushing them to do lots of activities but... I just feel that in a 100m race, EXO would have a 50m headstart.

i don't know how EXO reacted when they heard that they were going to Tokyo Dome, but SHINee cried. SHINee cried when they received their first Dasaeng while EXO receives them like it's paperweight ;-;

Me, too.
Besides, I feel as though Tokyo Dome just got less precious (you know? Having a concert not bcoz of talent but bcoz of fame).
This is getting worse~

I get what you're saying, but I think it's less about EXO and more about SM mangement. The way they treated EXO, before the members where even chosen, like their only group made it for me pretty clear that they (will) have/had an easier way than every Group before them. But that is the business and there is nothing we really can do about it.

I get what you're saying. I actually never heard about EXO going, but now that I have I'm feeling the same as you. Disappointed, yet kinda happy for them. I mean SHINee has seriously worked so hard for it, and cried their hearts out seeing how much the fans had done for them, with the whole surprise thing (I hope I'm talking about the right thing) But EXO? I actually thought the Tokyo Dome was the last place they'd be going to. They seemed so occupied by other things in their lives except for Tokyo, I've never heard of anything about them wanting to be there. Whereas SHINee was literally overjoyed to be there. The light in their eyes was so familiar to look at because that's what I know I look like as they continue to be successful with their careers. But like you, that was kinda shattered knowing it didn't even have to have EXO to raise a finger to reach that place..I'm not saying they're not any good. But there was just no fight for it you know? There wasn't any effort put for specifically that place, so the fact that they got their spot there is great, but it doesn't give you that feeling of achievement when thinking of them performing there. It's like hearing a ballad being sung by two people, one who held physical beauty of their voice, while the other sang their hearts out which made the song ten times more beautiful. Not really sure if I explained that right .-.

I actually completely and 100% agree with this. I feel like EXO should be around a little longer before going to Tokyo Dome. Just like you said, I'm not hating, but I feel like they don't really "deserve" it yet. There are a lot of groups that are better and deserve it a lot more than they do, yet EXO is going without having released a single japanese song? I understand and think exactly how you do, and am also a little disappointed about this. I know that they have worked hard, but I feel like they haven't worked up to this point yet.
