personality : being an only child, sunsoo has grown up to become quite independent in various aspects. she is adaptive to different kinds of problems, which also makes her resourceful and fast enough in finding their solutions. when in the mood, she also tends to think outside the box when planning, but being quite the perfectionitsi, she makes sure that her plan still makes sense and is logical 'till the last bit. she keeps her realism intact, in other words. she doesn't want other people to rely on fantasies and wishes alone like she once did when she was younger, because it can lead to huge disappointment and sorrow. to avoid this from happening often, she tries her best to be frank and genuine about this when giving advice to others in the nicest way possible. she is very tenderhearted, so the last thing she wants is for someone to hate her for verbally hurting their feelings. if that does happen, though, she will remain humble about the situation and apologize for her mistake. she is also wise, a trait she got from the people around her. when someone gives her advice on any kind of problem she has, she listens very well to that advice and keeps it in mind even after the problem is solved. this helps whenever someone asks for advice from her this time. when this happens, she applies everything she has learned from her past problems somehow to the advice she'll give the person. that way, the advice she gives is more helpful as it was more personal and a bit more heart was put into it. because of these good (( and neutral haha )) qualities, she appears persuasive to the public in a good way, because she seems friendlier and that she can understand your feelings better. she tries her best to keep these positive traits of hers, as she believes that these will help the romance club greatly.
buuuuuuut unfortunately, nobody's flawless, including sunsoo. she can be too tolerant of others' wrong actions at times. she tends to keep quiet about those actions often due to her humility, and thinking that they'll clean that mistake up soon enough. she worries quite a lot about things. she asks her friends too often if she has dirt anywhere on her face when they go out together, or panics too much over a deadline that's still quite far ahead (( sounds familiar hAHAHAHA okno ))... this leads to her being slightly self-conscious as well, especially about her outer appearance (( like her aforementioned habits of asking people about how she looks and stuff )). she is also irritable and can get scarily angry if you hit the right nerve of anger within her. teasing her too much isn't that big of a deal to her, though, but serious insults to her and her loved ones are what hit that nerve the most.
background : bae sunsoo was born an only child in junggu, incheon, to seaman bae insik and pediatrician lee nara. her family was in the middle class of society, being able to afford enough for both their needs and wants but not too much. she wasn't that close to her parents because they weren't at home that much; her father came back home from his trips once a month or so, and her mother comes home daily but often late at night. despite that, she doesn't hold grudges against them or think they don't have enough time for her like most teenagers think these days. she knows that they love her enough to keep taking care of her and that's more than needed for her happiness.
being an only child, she had always desired more company, more friends to treat as siblings. she found a lot among her cousins and classmates from elementary school, but most of them (( not all though, bcs there's jaejung woo )) lost contact with her as time passed. after that, she just learned to be content with what she had now: her parents. she didn't give too much attention to her own social life for a while and prioritized her family more, which was much better for her. she didn't think losing friends was too big of a deal, and didn't experience too many heartbreaking moments in her childhood because of that.
it was in high school when she started to break out of her bubble a little bit. she discovered more about her writing skills at that time and participated in writing contests at school, which gained her quite the popularity. she made some friends and lost some, and while they may not have all stayed with her, they still made her high school life enjoyable enough.
future plans : after college, she would immediately get to work on her pilot novel. like how others would take post-college vacations, she would spend weeks travelling all across the country off her personal savings, solely to find inspiration for her future books. she would find willing publishers and beta readers, and try her best to find ways to get her book in stores once it's finished. her increased time by herself would also be spent improving on her works by the day. she would love to meet new people along the way like friends and such, but she wouldn't immediately think she'd find romance too. she would think that if it does come, then she would just go with the flow of it and let fate do its thing on her, as long as it has good intentions.
family :
first cousin — lee myunggi (25) + psychiatrist // calm & collected, always willing to help, intellectual // myunggi and sunsoo have the typical younger-sister-and-older-brother (shalll i make that 'cousin?' they're just that close, you see. same goes for myunggi's younger sister, gayoung too!) relationship, but minus the minutely quarrels. they have always gotten along with one another quite well. myunggi looks out for sunsoo, of course, but he knows within him that she can take care of herself better than he can, maybe. they used to visit each other a lot to hang out when they were a bit younger, but when college came around for sunsoo and myunggi got himself a job, their visits became less frequent than before. now, their communication often depends on video calls and text messages, with some outings when they both happen to have the time. // 9 out of 10 (( faceclaim: high4's baek myunghan ))

ultimste role model hoobae since the history of ever — jang maeri (19) + dance major // caring, sociable, genuine // maeri has been one of sunsoo's idols since the day they first met at a physical education class! sunsoo admires maeri's infinite talents which include singing, dancing, rapping, and the like. they were partners for an activity in phys-ed class once, and their friendship started since then. they got to know each other through social networking sites and having lunch together sometimes at school. when they're together, they can show their true selves to one another and laugh as loud as they want to just because. maeri asks for sunsoo's help a lot when it comes to academic activities and judging her improvement on her talents. sunsoo helps as she should and always tells maeri that whenever she needs help, she'll get it from her sunbae with just a call. // 7 out of 10 (( faceclaim: clc's jang yeeun ))

— aw. i didn't know you had that people-person side to you, jaejung. ( ` jaejung speaks as if stating the obvious: noona, i don't love people. the people love me. sunsoo stares at him weirdly. ) ooookay, suit yourself. i think parties or other kinds of social gatherings would attract lots of students, if they're even allowed around here. if not, then how about setting up booths during school festivals like a marriage booth, photo booth, or a simple matchmaking booth? i haven't organized any of them before, but i think they'd pique students' interests.
what would your role in the club be, exactly? any individual skills to boast or whatever?? :
— i could scare all of your haters away! or is that not an acceptable role/skill... other than that, i'd be the listener and advice provider of the club. if you just need anyone to vent out your feelings to, i can willingly be that person for you and give you some helpful tips to solve your problem as well after that. i can conjure up plans to get your otps closer to each other too; just don't ask me to be the one to carry out those plans or you'll end up with horrible end results.

☁ — she majors in journalism & creative writing. writing has been her passion since she was 6 years old, when all she wrote were still sappy, nonsensical love stories about magic and royalties on a spiral notebook. since then, she continued to experiment with different literary genres and forms, like poetry and song lyrics.

ideal type : the one thing she requires from her future husband is his acceptance of who she truly is. she would love someone who'll be able to stand her everyday antics, and think she's adorable despite what others think; or someone who wouldn't mind waking up next to her in the morning and kissing her despite her morning breath (( ok maybe that's a bit overboard... )). this is because she thinks that if the one she loves fully accepts her as she is, everything good about that person will show throughout their time together if he's serious about her; his genuineness will show, his care, his attitude towards your actions... bonus points for him if he never fails to show her his love through physical actions and words (e.g. "good morning, beautiful~" ; "you're the most beautiful girl in the world, you know that?" ; "i love you 'til the moon and back!" ; etc.), and if they have a lot in common with each other.
how they'd interact : the awkward side of her will take over, because honestly, who can act normal in front of their dream guy??? even if he wasn't her dream guy though but they ended up together, she would still be awkward around him. she would try her best to crack jokes around him like how she does around her friends, but in the first place, she would probably forget the punchline to the joke. she wouldn't be very open to the guy either, not until they get to the point in their friendly relationship when they start to trust each other with whatever deep, dark secrets they might have. despite that, she would make sure to always be by his side in times of need, and listen to his problems so she could try to help-- not necessarily as a member of the romance club, but as a caring friend.
