Life usually starts when you were born, but to Ke Yi, it's different. The only thing she remembers was waking up in a completely white room dressed in white clothes with her name in black font on the left side of her long sleeves shirt. She has completely forgotten everything that happened before she got in the institute. There was a door a few meters away from the bed that she woke up from. But there seemed to be an invisible wall. She couldn't go one meter away from the door. She stayed on her bed, looking into space. After about 12 hours, the door opened. She was called out for her first academic lesson with the other 23 test subjects. She hated her life until she made friends with one of the male test subjects, Lu Han. Unlike her, he was feeling quite well about staying in the institute. Because of him, staying in the institute was worth it. Ke Yi began to open up to the rest of the test subjects. She especially became close to Kim Dani. Spending time with her made time fly faster. Somehow.
A month after Dani's 19th birthday, the scientist in charge of 3XO-DU5 gathered all the test subjects in his main laboratory where the painful process of them turning into irregular human beings occured. It was something that normal people wouldn't be able to handle. The scientist then introduced them to their partners. Ke Yi felt a little sad it wasn't Lu Han. But her partner was somehow... Similar to Luhan, but still very different. Starting on that period, life in the institue became more lively and less... boring. Back then it was just sleep, eat, study. Now they started learning how to shoot guns and other weapons.
Probably a year had passed when the staff began noticing that their test subjects began to have unusual reactions to different elements. The first reaction that they sensed from Ke Yi was that she never got blinded when light was shone on her eyes. Light started to come out of her palms unknowingly. The same thing happened to Baekhyun. It was appalling to all the staff working on 3XO-DU5. As soon as they found their test subjects dangerous, they put them into a more secured room. To Ke Yi, it looked like the exact same room she was in when she was first put in the institute. They were treated coldly by everyone except the scientist in charge. He couldn't let his hardwork put to waste. And seeing them made him feel merciful. So, with his help, the test subjects were able to break out.

Ke Yi's positive side often showed up when Subjest Lu Han was still alive. She was lively and the most social among them all. But, as soon as she found out about his death, she became lifeless and her negative side showed up more than her positive side. That leaves her partner to fix this issue of hers.

In any case where the situation is too hard for her to handle, she would stay quiet and keep the problem to herself because she doesn't want to trouble others. Ke Yi also loves to make other people smile and laugh. It brightens up her day.
[ The curriculum is hard? No... ] — Growing up in the institue, Ke Yi was the only one, along with former subject Luhan, who studied the most. She became an ace in Mathematics especially. Her partner dislikes studyig, so being considerate, she doesn't study in front of him or else he might faint just by seeing one mathematical equation.

What's so funny? ] — Back when everything was still peaceful, no worries in her head while going along with her everyday life in the institute, Ke Yi was one of the subjects who brighten up the mood along with the happy virus Chanyeol and some others. Sometimes, only the tone of her voice, or the way that she talks make other people laugh. Her casual talking can also bring laughter. This trait of hers can also break those awkward auras that happen at random moments.

There was one time when luhan bumped into her while she was reading a book. She accidentally raised her voice at him, and she was incredibly embarrassed and guilty about it. She apologised to him the whole day because she never wanted to do that to a Subject, especially Luhan. If it was just a random person who's not even in the institute she would surely get angry at him forever because of that small thing.

One second she's happy and then the next second, she's sad. Okay, that's a little exaggerated, but it's somehow like that. Her move is easily affected by the way her partner or someone close to her interacts with her.
[ Hey, are you okay? ] — Ke Yi tends to keep her problems to herself. If someone asks wether she's okay or not, she would most likely smile and give them her optimistic side. Both of them knows that they're near... But they can't seem to find each other.
After some time passed, Ke Yi finally couldn't take it anymore. She collapsed in the middle of the streets and had to be hospitalised. But before any random person helped her, she refused to receive medication. Because they kept insisting, light started to exert out of her palms uncontrollably, but the light was weak. The crowd left her alone, sitting at the sidewalk, leaning on the outer wall of a building. She felt scared and she cried day and night. Ke Yi wanted to get up and look for Baek, but it was too hard.
Baekhyun, being a man, never gave up searching for Ke Yi. He knows how Ke Yi reacted when Luhan died, so he's not letting that happen again. Recently, his hands has been giving off light intermittently. His light was weak. It was weaker than the flame on a candle. Despite that, it was a good sign that he was close to finding her.
