» PERSONALITY & Background

Personality:

" Nice to judge you " - Byeol is honest, she will be straight-forward when she meets someone new. She thinks getting assumptions out of the way in the very beginning is best, and doesn't care how people view her, she just needs to know how the other person is like. Because many people would try to make a good first impression, Byeol takes people by surprise by how blunt she is and she's able to see a sliver of their true self with her observance. She doesn't act a certain way, she just acts like herself.
...Or so she thinks. In her own view and mind, Byeol thinks she's pushing away people from the first meeting by being sassy, but from the other person's view, she's blurting out nonsense that doesn't make sense to their ears at all. When they're being confused and attempting to piece what she said, Byeol takes it as surprise, which is when she categorizes them as people she wouldn't associate with. Because of that weirdness, they end up steering clear of her, and don't attempt to make conversation at all.

" Ignore the haters " - Byeol doesn't care what others think of her. It's who she is. Sure she's "weird" because she likes things that are different than others and expresses it in her own way, but it's what makes her different from everyone else. Byeol thinks everyone is made to be alike in some way because of the way media shows it, and she really hates it. She likes being different, being herself. To the people who ask her "Why are you so weird?", she responds every time with "It's who I am." If people want to judge her, it's fine with Byeol. She doesn't want to socialize with fake people anyway.

" Thanks for putting up with me " - Byeol has a soft side to her, but that's only if you really take the time to get to know her and to get her acceptance. Her 'sass' and honesty is just a protection mechanism for her because her trust is actually hard to gain in person, mostly because she'll actually have to interact with them and takes more care in putting distance with them. Online, she's a bit more open in terms of letting people know her, but really it's because even if she doesn't like someone, she could just block them, right? Can't do that in person. When you get close to her and she knows that you don't mind her passionate interests, Byeol will talk about anything with you, even if you don't understand. A nod is enough for her. She will burst into her opinion about the latest episode or of a recent game she played, she'll share things that confused her and things that made her feel really smart, and seem like a complete child.

Background:

" Children educate themselves " - Ever since Byeol was a young child, she was already in love with anime and all things that were animated by the Japanese. She wasn't even old enough to know what it exactly was, but she already preferred it to cartoons and real life people. "It's pretty and sparkly! Real people are boring. Cartoons? That's a weird name... and it's not detailed enough. Are they trying to be a lazy style of anime?" Her mother didn't want to take away her means of happiness, so she let her watch all the anime Byeol's little heart wanted to.

" Maturity starts when drama ends " - Byeol's parents have always seemed distant from each other to her, although it was odd to her when she'd see other families, she didn't question them. It didn't come as a shock or confusion when her and her mother moved away and lived apart from her father, but because her mother had to move around often to suit her work schedule and Byeol's education, Byeol was never able to keep a friend from her multiple schools. Without someone her age to talk to everyday, she had children-life-sized animals to talk to and listened to anime as a means of listening to someone. She never had much interaction with actual kids in school because she was 'different' from the rest of them.

Byeol tried to turn over a new leaf when her mother finally settled them down in Seoul at the age of 13, when she entered a school she would finally stay at for more than 2 months. She kept silent about her anime obsession and tried to seem normal as she conversed with her classmates, but would never understand the things they were talking about. She moved on from the popular people to the more quieter people of the class, and actually found out a couple of boys liked anime like her, so she let her interest out. She was so into describing one certain anime scene, that the popular girls heard her and shunned her because they thought she was weird for watching 'boy things', and chatting with boys about them. "But, this anime isn't for boys! See, there's a girl, and a stuffed animal, and it's pink everywhere!" "Ew, who cares. It's all fake anyway."

She went through all of high school as an 'outcast', because she openly expressed her interests. Byeol made acquaintances with a couple of guys, and some quiet girls who don't talk much, but she's not close with anyone in person. All her trust lies in her online friends. She watches anime at home, and made a rep as  a blogger and reviewer about the latest episodes of anime, without giving out too many spoilers. She seldom writes fanfiction, but mostly if she has intense feels for a certain character at the moment. She moved into The Vortex when she first went to college because it was cheap and the girls seemed to all be unique in their own way, so she thought it'd be nice to live with them, and they wouldn't bother each other.

»  Q & A

01.) What do you like about college? "I'm able to create animations of my own, and learn to develop my own video games. Everything that I do in college, is my own and will benefit me in the future."

02.) What would you say to someone in a boy group if you were just meeting them for the first time? "...Hm. Probably something like "Um hi. So, do you like anime? Manhwa?" If they were famous though, I wouldn't know it unless there were fans around, and I probably wouldn't say anything unless I needed to."

03.) When faced with stressful situations, how do you handle your emotions? "I binge watch a new anime series, or rewatch Naruto... Nothing better than reliving all the childhood memories! Or listen to the songs from it, they're amazing too."

04.) What do you dislike about college? "Hmm... The judgement? The fakeness? I don't dislike anything about college, except maybe the workload... Really just the people."

05.) Do you believe in soul mates? ..."If they're able to accept who I am, and if I deem them acceptable for me, I believe there's someone out there who's perfect."

» What you want

When she first meets the boys, she's unaffected by their looks and just treats them a bit coldly at first. After observing a bit, she opens up to becoming friends with them. Eventually she notices their charms and openly fangirls about them, not as much as anime, but the guys appreciate it. Some of the younger guys would ask to watch anime with her, and she would accept, treating them like little children.

Specifically for Jin though, Byeol will admit she likes him more than the others, because of his awkwardness. The other boys seem to have an air of confidence and carefreeness all the time, but Jin doesn't have that air naturally, only when he's performing or practicing. Because of her awkward people skills when she actually likes someone and wants to be their friend, she's not sure how to talk to Jin to start a conversation. Byeol said the same thing she does to everyone, which is asking if they like anything she likes, but Jin didn't exactly give her a positive answer like V and Jungkook did. However, she finds his awkwardness as the eldest member really endearing and she likes him for it.
Jin tries to get closer to her like the maknaes do because they have more in common with her, but his awkwardness makes it hard. He gets jealous when V and Jungkook get close to her and she starts fangirling as she talks about her life, anime, and clings to them unconsciously because she doesn't even realize it. Jin is drawn in by her different personality, which is on par with V's, and is amazed how easily she changes attitude when she cosplays.
When Byeol finally gained some confidence and was closer to the guys, she asked them all to cosplay with her, including Jin, so she could finally grow closer to Jin specifically.

COMMENTS: I look forward to your review and story starting! I will do more applications~ ^^
SUGGESTIONS:
- Byeol making all of them, girls and boys, cosplay with her, for fun.
- Byeol cooking a big meal for everyone because she just finished a new wonderful anime, and is feeling super happy.
ONE ULTIMATE SCENE REQUEST THAT WILL BE IN THE STORY NO MATTER WHAT IS CHOSEN: The guys being dorks as they usually are, but mess up a lot when they first meet all the girls.
