It was kind of sad how much Jongin lived on his phone. The only time the boy would put it down was for dance and dinner, not even during regular classes. That lead up to the many detentions, pink slips, and calls home from teachers. His mother could care less about him getting in trouble with his phone as long as he kept grades high and strayed from real, physical trouble.   Jongin's favorite thing to do was to roleplay as his favorite anime character, Kai.   He belonged to a Kakao group chat of 15 people (and counting), who all play roles as anime characters. The characters mingle with each other, sometimes date, sometimes have... . Jongin feels weirded out by that. What the kind of person pretends to have intimate relations with cartoon characters (*clears history*), and was glad his "partner" was uncomfortable with it, too.   His boyfriend, well, Kai's boyfriend is a character named Kaneki. The person behind Kaneki was a boy, Sehun. Sehun is the only one who knows Jongin's name and what he looks like.   The two began to know each other personally when their characters started to get along easily, and they only clicked even better when they spoke about their real lives. Jongin learned that Sehun was a dancer like him and just a few months younger. Sehun is a foreign exchange student in America from Korea, which makes it easier for Jongin since speaking english in the group chat is hard for him. He guesses that's why he liked Sehun so much, he appreciated being able to speak korean and feel comfortable with him.   With a 13 hour time difference, their friendship was hard to keep up with at first, but they've made a somewhat schedule to have time for each other. Since Sehun doesn't want to risk losing his scholarship by getting in trouble for using his phone, he texts Jongin first thing in the morning and when he's out of school until, usually, three in the morning.   Luckily for Jongin, Sehun is home sick today. He needs Sehun today because there's a lot of stuff going on in his home that he can't speak with the others in the chat, and frankly he has no real friends to talk about it either.   "Jongin~" he hears, but ignores the whiny voice and continues to write his long message to Sehun.   "Kim Jongin, get off your damn phone," the voice says again. It's Kyungsoo, Jongin's neighbor and closest friend out of the internet. They're in Jongin's room, supposedly studying.   "What? What? What do you want?" he groans, locking his phone and setting it done.   "Are you talking to your boyfriend from New York again?" Kyungsoo questions as he flops down on his side.   "Sehun's not my boyfriend," Jongin snaps, "I'm not gay."   The other laughs as he flips the page of the text book in front of him. "Yeah, and I'm Mother Theresa."   Jongin scoffs, "You might as well be, you little ."   "Oh, and you've gotten laid by all your internet friends, right?"   They both roll their eyes and mumble a 'whatever'. Kyungsoo continued to search through the text book to find the answers to their homework while Jongin picked up his phone.   He was halfway with writing a paragraph to Sehun on why he was feeling down.   Life wasn't feeling so good for him. His mom was starting to work more at the hospital and she was really the only person Jongin ever looked up to. His father on the other case...   Kyungsoo was about to complain to Jongin again when there was a slam of the front door and they both looked up instantly.   "Dad's home," Jongin gulps and turns to the other, "first time all week
