Guilty, Beauty, Love

Sungyeol wasn't really sure how he'd ended up letting the hottest guy in his Japanese class (and possibly, the whole University) to come to his apartment, forcing him into one on one time with him.

But here they were.

Not that he fancied Myungsoo or anything, they were just friends of course.

But even as a friend he had to admit the younger male was hot.

Exceptionally so.

Like honestly, how did he even manage to get a face like that?! Was it even legal?!

But no feelings were involved.

Definitely not.

The two had met by chance, Myungsoo taking the spare seat next to Sungyeol in their first Japanese lecture. Sungyeol had noted straight away that the other male was incredibly attractive but was surprised to find that he was very quite and reserved. Because of this, originally the two were incredibly awkward around each other; what with Sungyeol being loud and slightly obnoxious it contrasted severely with Myungsoo's personality and made their interactions very stunted. But, neither male knew anyone else in the lectures and so they continued to sit next to each other every time.

Because of this, Myungsoo slowly opened up to Sungyeol more and more, answering his questions and talking to him a little more everytime they sat next to each other. Sungyeol learnt that the other male was a year younger than him. It made sense; Sungyeol had taken a gap year after graduating High School and so, although they were both first years, he was year older than Myungsoo. He also found out that Myungsoo was majoring in Photography; Sungyeol was majoring in Drama.

But the biggest break through came about when their first assignment was announced a few weeks into the semester. Upon hearing the announcement, Myungsoo  had asked Sungyeol if they could study together.

Sungyeol may have agreed a little too enthusiastically. Luckily for him, Myungsoo didn't seem to notice.

When they met up at the library to study a few days, later things went a lot better than expected; although not in the way of study. Sungyeol accidentally mentioned one of Myungsoo's favourite animes and managed to get the younger boy talking more avidly than he'd ever imagined he could. Sungyeol couldn't help but ask questions and make comments at just the right intervals to keep Myungsoo talking; the twinkle in his eye as he talked about anime was so endearing and Sungyeol didn't want it to go away.

Plus, he found it adorable that the stoic guy who always wore black was actually a massive dork who loved cute cats and girly anime.

Sungyeol could've kept talking to Myungsoo about anime forever if it hadn't been for the text from his flatmate, Woohyun.

Okay, well, maybe Sungyeol ignored the first few texts but after about the fifteenth one he finally gave in, telling Myungsoo he'd better head back to his apartment.

They managed to packed up their basically untouched textbooks but it had taken another hour (and a very annoyed call from Woohyun demanding to know why he was taking so god damn long) before the two had parted, finally forcing them to end their conversation.

Well, face to face anyway. They exchanged numbers before parting and spent the whole night texting.

From that moment on Myungsoo and Sungyeol had become close friends, seeing each other almost everyday, sometimes just to study (or try to anyway) but also just when they had time, having coffee together or just quickly meeting between classes to chat.

"Sungyeol, as if you don't have the hots for him! Even setting aside his stunning looks, he's all you ever talk about and let's not forget all the times you've brushed me off just to spend time with him!" Woohyun had retorted to Sungyeol one night, whilst they were having dinner, after Sungyeol had denied having feelings for Myungsoo for what had to be the hundredth time at least.

"That was one time and I didn't think it was urgent that I got home because normally you just go out with Sunggyu on Friday nights!"

Sunggyu was Woohyun's boyfriend; a fourth year whom Woohyun had met in his first year when he'd been assigned as his tutor for his first music assignment. Whenever asked, Woohyun would claim it was love at first sight but Sungyeol knew the truth.

He and Woohyun had been friends for years but Woohyun chose to go straight to university unlike Sungyeol. Even so, they'd kept in touch over that year, talking frequently, and Sungyeol remembered clearly what Woohyun's first impressions of his new tutor had been. "Maybe he's attractive in the right light but it doesn't make up for his personality! He's an old man stuck in a young man's body, and not the nice old man type, the type that yells at you for stepping on his lawn! He's got a pole up his or something, he's so annoying!"  That wasn't the whole rant but it was the crux of it. Sungyeol had let this information slip one day in an arguement with Woohyun, telling Sunggyu in the process. Sunggyu hadn't really reacted at first but then he had smiled and said, "oh, that's almost flattery compared to what I said about you."

To this day, Sungyeol didn't actually know what Sunggyu had said about Woohyun but he did know that after Woohyun finally got Sunggyu's friend Dongwoo to spill the beans, the comments were enough to induce a week of sulking.

"You knew  he was out of town for the week doing a research assignment! We made specific plans to go out for a good meal together because there was no food in the house but you came home FOUR HOURS late!"

Sungyeol rolled his eyes, "Who even does a double degree in Music and Science, like what the hell kind of a combination is that?!"

Woohyun simply glared at the tall man and Sungyeol sighed; it was times like these when he wondered who was really the Drama major of the two of them.

"Okay! I said I was sorry like a million times! It was months ago, what do you want from me?!"

Woohyun pretended to think, "hmmm, how about... uhhh, I don't know...how about you ask Myungsoo out and put me out of my misery!"

Sungyeol groaned, "No!"

Despite Woohyun's constant pressuring, Sungyeol refused to ask Myungsoo out. Even if he did like Myungsoo (and that was an IF), he knew the younger man didn't think of him that way so the whole thing would just be a wasted exercise that would most likely ruined their friendship. And Sungyeol was much too fond of their friendship to risk it for something as stupid as asking Myungsoo out.

Because of this, Sungyeol had avoided having Myungsoo come over to his apartment, worried that his flatmate would say something unnecessary and make things awkward.

Also, Sungyeol was little bit uncomfortable about the thought of hanging out with Myungsoo somewhere that wasn't public.

For no real reason.

It had nothing to do with feelings.

Nope.

But when Myungsoo had told Sungyeol that the wifi in his dorm was being repaired meaning he had no internet to watch the latest episode of an anime he was really into, Sungyeol had offered for the younger to come over the next day so they could watch it together, without thinking about what he was saying.

It wasn't until he'd got home that night that he realised what he'd done.

Luckily for him, it turned out Woohyun had plans with Sunggyu (thank god) so Sungyeol didn't have to worry about that.

Even so, Sungyeol found himself awake the next morning, his stomach tying itself in knots, his anxiety so bad that he didn't even have any appetite.

And Sungyeol always had an appetite.

He had also woken up uncharacteristically early and there was still five hours until Myungsoo was due to arrive.

Getting out of bed, Sungyeol searched the apartment for something to do; TV and the internet couldn't keep him preoccupied for long, he was too fidgety to sit still. He considered cleaning the apartment but because of Sunggyu it was already pretty much clean or at least 'clean enough to be habitable' as Sunggyu put it.

Then Sungyeol thought of his room; an area of the house Sunggyu didn't clean.

And neither did Sungyeol.

Thanking god that he'd realised this before Myungsoo came over, Sungyeol sprinted to his room and set about making it look presentable. It was the only time in his life that he had ever cleaned of his own accord but at that moment he was simply glad to have a distarction to pass the time.

After what seemed like days, he was done and he checked the time; still almost two hours until Myungsoo was coming over.

Damn it.

He decided to go have a shower to try and calm down a bit and to help him get ready.

Hot water worked a treat and Sungyeol felt his tension slip away as he stood in the hot shower, thinking of anything but Myungsoo, and it was only when the hot water finally began to run out that he got out of the shower.

Once out of the shower, though, the anxiety quickly returned with a horrifying realisation; he had to pick an outfit.

After pulling everyhting he owned out of his wardrobe he decided that none of his clothes were good enough for Myungsoo and so, in a moment of desperation, he went into Woohyun's room to see if he had anything better. None of Woohyun's clothes fit right though (not that that was really a surprise, Sungyeol was 'like a hundred feet tall' as Woohyun had so eloquently put it once) and so Sungyeol had to head back to his own room to try again.

He set about trying on almost everything he owned and after much deliberation, he finally settled on a pair of black skinny leg jeans and a dark grey button up shirt with a black knitted jumper over the top (the choice had nothing to do with black being Myungsoo's favourite colour).

Sungyeol looked in the mirror and sighed; it would have to do.

He put away all the clothes he'd thrown around in both his and Woohyun's room before checking the clock again;

Half an hour.

With nothing left to do, Sungyeol began to pace.

Ten minutes before their organised time, there was a knock on the door.

Because he'd been pacing in front of the door, Sungyeol opened it at record speed, Myungsoo's hand still raised from knocking.

"That was fast," Myungsoo said, the surprise evident in his voice. Sungyeol flushed a little redsearching for an excuse but nothing came to him.

So he just settled for a smile and a shrug, "come in!"

Myungsoo smiled back and stepped inside, taking off his shoes and preceding to look around the apartement. Sungyeol took the opportunity to properly look at the younger male; he was dressed in all black as per usual and the outfit was pretty simple. He wore black jeans (that were tight in all the right places) and a black button up. It was simple but Myungsoo looked stunning in it, as per usual.

Sungyeol couldn't help but think about how plain he must look in comparison.

"This place is pretty fancy for a broke University student like yourself..." Myungsoo's comment snapped Sungyeol out of his thoughts and he looked up to find the younger watching him. Sungyeol quickly looked away

"Yeah well, my parents agreed to support me for my first year and Woohyun's from a rich family so..."

"So you're both spoilt rich boys huh? That explains so much..." Myungsoo said teasingly, looking away from Sungyeol to take another glance around the living area.

"Excuse me! Woohyun might be but I am NOT!" Sungyeol was outraged at the accusation, his eyes comically wide, forgetting his nerves.

Myungsoo snorted, "surrreeee you're not."

"I'm not!" Then Sungyeol realised something, "and what do you mean that explains so much?!"

"You're the brattiest person I know, now it makes sense why" Myungsoo replied, checking out a painting on the wall at the same time so that his back was to Sungyeol. Even so, Sungyeol could tell he was smirking and he knew he was just baiting him but he was easily riled up and couldn't help but take the bait anyway.

"Ya! Kim Myungsoo! I am not brat!" Sungyeol exclaimed, storming over from his spot by the front door, intent on shoving or hitting him or something. Myungsoo sensed this and turned around just in time to poke his tongue out at the older male before running out of the living area and into the kitchen, managing to narrowly avoid the angry Sungyeol. He then opened the fridge and began to inspect it's contents as if he hadn't just riled Sungyeol up.

"Hyung! You told me not to bring anything but you don't have any fooooddddddd!" Myungsoo whined childishly, pushing the fridge door closed and turning to face the other (who'd followed him into the kitchen), arms crossed stroppily.

Sungyeol snorted at the childish display, "oh yeah, I'm the bratty one."

Myungsoo only pouted in response, making Sungyeol roll his eyes, trying his best to ignore the part of his brain that found the younger extremely endearing.

"Okay, we'll go down to the shops and get some food, will that stop you from sulking?" Instantly Myungsoo brightened up, nodding enthusiastically and grinning.

"And you can pay because you're rich!" Myungsoo exclaimed, looping his arm thorugh Sungyeol's.

Sungyeol ignored the way his heartbeat increased because of the youngers actions and sighed, "I should've known you'd use me for my money..."

Myungsoo simply gave him a smile.

"If I didn't know you, I'd question how it would be possible for you to eat all this!" Sungyeol exclaimed, seemingly his millionth complain since he'd found himself at the checkout with a month's worth of food. He'd tried to argue that it was excessive but Myungsoo had simply pouted and Sungyeol had caved.

Now they were back at his apartment, in Sungyeol's room because that was where his laptop was. Currently Myungsoo was trying to guess his password whilst Sungyeol put all of the food on his desk.

"Yeah yeah yeah, I know I know, you've said that like fifty times already. Give me a clue to your password ppplllleeeaassseee?" Myungsoo pleaded. He'd been trying for five minutes with no success.

"Nope." Sungyeol replied, finishing setting all the food down on the desk and going over to sit next to Myungsoo on the bed. He watched him type 'w-o-o-h-y-u-n'.

"Why the hell would it be Woohyun?!" Sungyeol exclaimed indignantly.

"Dunno know, thought maybe he was your secret crush or something" Myungsoo replied nonchalantly, eyes trained on the keys of Sungyeol's laptop as if he expected the answer to appear.

"Um, no, Woohyun is such a pain in the , I'm in constant shock at Sunggyu being able to put up with him." Sungyeol retorted, trying not to feel bothered by how Myungsoo obviously didn't care who he liked.

"Well, I tried all of your favourite animes and favourite characters and then I was trying other names but nothing works!" Myungsoo huffed. "Will you just tell me please?! What have you even got on here that needs such a strong password?!"

Sungyeol rolled his eyes at the younger and took his laptop from him. Facing it away from the younger he hit 'L' and enter and the laptop unlocked. Myungsoo couldn't see the keys but could tell by Sungyeol's movements that it had only been one key and he was livid.

"It's ONE key?! What the hell?!" Myungsoo exclaimed angrily, throwing his hands up in the air and falling back onto the bed in dismay.

Sungyeol laughed at the younger's dramatic display, "am I the Drama major or are you?"

Myungsoo ignored the older's comment. "You know this is going to bother me, just tell me what key it is so I can be done with it!" He whined, looking up at the older male from his position sprawled on the bed.

"Nope. Learn to deal with it."

Myungsoo made another whiney noise but Sungyeol ignored the younger, instead working on getting up the latest episode of the anime Myungsoo wanted to watch.

He couldn't tell Myungsoo his password because it was a suspicious password. The reason it was suspicious was that it had come about from a story Myungsoo had told Sungyeol the first time they'd hung out in the library. He had told Sungyeol that when Death Note had been rising to fame kids had noted that Myungsoo looked a lot like one of the main protagonists; L. It became an ongoing nickname and stuck with him through most of his schooling.

Sungyeol had found the story exceptionally cute and had changed his password when he got home that night to 'L'. He didn't mean anything by it; as he said millions of times, he didn't have feelings for the younger man. But he knew it would probably seem that way to Myungsoo and he didn't want to freak him out.

Whilst Sungyeol was trying to get up the drama and lost in his own thoughts, Myungsoo had spotted his anime collection on his shelf and had gotten up to check it out. Sungyeol didn't notice this until he heard the younger let out a surprised squeak of excitement making the older look up.

Myungsoo had Ouran High Host Club in his hands and he looked positively thrilled by that.

"You own the whole series?!" He asked excitedly, beaming at the older male. Sungyeol couldn't believe how adorable he looked.

"Yeah, I couldn't resist" Sungyeol replied, finding himself feeling excited even though it was his own DVD. He couldn't help it; Myungsoo's happiness was contagious.

"It's my all time favourite anime! But every time I try and buy it, I either don't have the money or they've only got half of it." Myungsoo was bouncing excitedly on the balls of his feet as he told Sungyeol this and Sungyeol couldn't help but smile even more.

"Look, I normally pretend that someone left it here once when anyone finds it because they don't appreciate it's worth but in all honesty, I'm a real fan of it," Sungyeol admitted, "I even know all of the words to the English version of 'Guilty, Beauty, Love'. It's the most English I know to be honest."

Myungsoo's eyes lit up upon hearing this and he rocked back and forth a little on the balls of his feet in excitement, "sing it for me!"

Sungyeol went red upon the suggestion and laughed awkwardly, "I'm not really a very good singer though..."

Myungsoo waved his hand dismissively at the comment, "I'm sure you're fine, I don't mind anyway. I just want to hear. Pppllleeeaassseee??"

Sungyeol rubbed the back of his neck, unsure if he really wanted to sing for the younger boy. Looking at him though, he obviously had his heart set on hearing him sing and Sungyeol had come to know how stubborn the younger could be.

He sighed, "okay, but don't say I didn't warn you!" Myungsoo only nodded, face expectant.

So, Sungyeol took a deep breathe and began to sing.

"What a crime, such a beautiful crime, that God would make a star as bright as I~"

Somehow, Myungsoo's smile managed to become even brighter as he listened to Sungyeol sing and Sungyeol felt his heart skip a beat; how is he actually so gorgeous?

"And I know it's a disgrace to admire this perfect face, reflected in your eyes~ So it's right, that I suffer tonight, all of the pain of the passion inside~ What my heart can not deny what I'm feeling inside, that makes me long for you~ Guilty, Beauty, Love~"

As Sungyeol continued to sing, Myungsoo continued to smile his dazzling smile making Sungyeol's heart beat irregularly.

Maybe I do like Myungsoo a little. The thought suddenly crossed Sungyeol's mind and although he tried to dismiss it, as he kept singing he couldn't help but start to see that maybe he'd been being a little bit in denial.

He closed his eyes to try and block the thought and stop Myungsoo's gaze from messing with his head.

"Take my hand, take the key~ You can open the door~ Take a step, take a chance~ Now you'll find there's so much more~ There's a world you've dreamed of and if you'll allow, let me you the-"

But before Sungyeol could finish the verse, a pair of lips cut him off.

Sungyeol's eyes flew open to find that Myungsoo was kissing him.

Actually kissing him.

Sungyeol couldn't move, frozen in shock, unsure if this was really happening. He couldn't gather this thoughts or work out what to do.

It must have only been seconds but time felt like it was passing in slow motion.

When Myungsoo pulled back, he was bright red and seemed unsure of where to look, his eyes looking anywhere but at Sungyeol.

"I'm really sorry, I don't know if that was out of line, I kind of didn't think about it and I don't know if you wanted tha-"

Finally, Sungyeol's brain switched back on and he realised that Myungsoo really had just kissed him.

And that he really wanted him to do it again.

Without another thought, he leant forward and connected their lips again.

For a second Myungsoo froze but then he kissed Sungyeol back. Sungyeol's fingers reached around and twined in Myungsoo's hair and Myungsoo's hands came up to cup his face. It felt perfectly natural and right and Sungyeol wanted to kiss Myungsoo many more times after this.

He felt very stupid now for ever denying liking Myungsoo because he realised now he always had.

And he'd spent months missing out on perfect kisses like this.

After what seemed like eternity, the two broke apart but moved only a few inches apart; Sungyeol's fingers still in Myungsoo's hair and Myungsoo's hands still cupping his face.

"Does that mean you like me back?"

Sungyeol simply nodded, not trusting his words but unable to stop the smile that spread across his face upon hearing Myungsoo's question.

Myungsoo beamed  back and removed his hands from the older's face to hug him, hugging Sungyeol so forcefully that they both fell back onto the bed. Sungyeol chuckled and hugged him back.

After a while, Myungsoo pulled them back up and pulled back to smile at Sungyeol.

"Hey Yeol?"

"Mmmm?"

And then Myungsoo kneeled and started singing softly, "I kneel before you, kiss your hand~" he placed a soft kiss on Sungyeol's hand, "tell you I'm a lucky guy~"

Sungyeol was now bright red and all he could think to do was lean forward and capture Myungsoo's lips in his once more.

"So am I."

Woohyun came home, intent on telling Sungyeol all about his day just to spite this friend because he was being so stupidly stubborn about Myungsoo, but when he flung the taller man's bedroom door open he found that Sungyeol was not alone.

Actually, he was lying on his bed, cuddled up with a shorter man with black hair and striking features, watching Ouran High Host Club.

Sungyeol's eyes went wide upon Woohyun's entrance and for a minute no one moved.

Then Woohyun smirked, "ah, you must be Myungsoo, right?"

Myungsoo nodded, "and you are Woohyun I assume?"

Woohyun nodded, his smirk growing wider with every passing second and Sungyeol felt like he was watching a car crash.

"So, Sungyeol, anything you want to tell me?"

Sungyeol scowled, "no."

"Really? It looks like you want to tell me something."

Sungyeol narrowed his eyes further at the other man. "Just get out Woohyun."

"I just have a quick question for Myungsoo though; it's the first time we've met after all." Woohyun turned to Myungsoo, "you don't mind if I ask you a quick question, right?"

Myungsoo looked nervously between Sungyeol and Woohyun, "uh...n-no?"

"Are you and Sungyeol dating?"

Before Myungsoo could even try and answer Sungyeol groaned and exclaimed, "yes, okay?! You were right, happy now?! Get out would ya!"

Woohyun looked more pleased than Sungyeol had ever seen him and he knew he would be hearing about this for weeks. For now though, Woohyun complied, leaving the room after quickly saying to Myungsoo "thank you so ing much for being stupid enough to like this brat" (at which Sungyeol threw a pillow at him).

When he'd left the room, Sungyeol turned back to Myungsoo to apologise for his friend and flatmate but he found Myungsoo giving him a surprised look.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing, it's just...so we're dating?" Myungsoo said uncertainly.

Sungyeol went red, realising he hadn't actually technically asked the younger boy.

You idiot Sungyeol.

"Uhh... well, I mean, only if you want to be..."

For what had to be the millionth time that afternoon, Myungsoo beamed at Sungyeol.

"Yes! I definitely want that!" He exclaimed, smiling and snuggling closer into Sungyeol.

Sungyeol breathed out a sigh of relief and smiled, "thank god for that."

"My Tamaki Sungyeol" Myungsoo said softly into Sungyeol's shoulder.

Sungyeol chuckled and held the younger a little tighter.
