Chen’s POV

‘’Yah noona, who is that girl?’’ I asked my cousin, Luna who’s working as a waitress in our coffee shop. Yes this coffee shop is belong to my family and now my father asked me to manage the coffee shop and yeah since I like coffee to so it’s such a good opportunity for me.

‘’Girl? Which girl?’’

‘’The girl who sits on that table every weekend’’ I pointed out my finger to someone that I mean by.

‘’Ahh Jung Eunji. She is our loyal customer’’ Answered Luna

‘’Is she normal or what? Why did she always smiled alone then cried’’ My words caused me got a slap on my head. ‘’Yah noona! How dare you hit my head, I’m your boss okay, I could fire you whenever I want!’’ My respond as my hand rubs my head. It hurts what

‘’Serve your right for judging people like this. I told you she is our loyal customer, we need to respect her not bad-mouthing her like you did, idiot!’’ Said Luna and then she leave me alone. I saw she goes to that girl, who called as Jung Eunji and approached her with a smile.

‘’Noona must be crazy as that girl too I guess. What’s special about that girl anyway, tsk. She is just lucky because she’s that pretty—

Wait, did I just say she is pretty?’’

‘’She has been our loyal customer since five years ago. Well two years ago she always came here with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend left to up there three years ago but she still comes here by herself’’ I turned my head back as I heard a voice approached me from back

‘’Ahh Minseok hyung. You know about that girl too? Wait did you said her boyfriend is d-dead?’’  

Minseok hyung, our barista, replied me with a nod

‘’Of course I know her, as Luna-shi said, she is our loyal customer. Her life is so sad, right? Every weekend she will come to this coffee shop and ordered the same thing all over again. She used to dislike coffee that much and she always argued with her boyfriend about the coffee’’ Minseok hyung chuckled. Seriously I don’t know but I could feel something in heart. Something ….weird.

I throw my sight to that Jung Eunji again, she is talking with Luna and I realized something with her smile. Yes, it is beautiful and that eye smiles make it even beautiful but if you observe it, her smile is seems so empty. Her lips are smiling but not deep in her eyes. It always seems like those tears would fall anytime. For reason I feel guilty, I shouldn’t think nonsense about her.

Without I realized, the longer I look at her smile, the faster my heart beating. As I realized my heart beating faster like that I put my hand on my chest as my eyes blink rapidly ‘’What’s wrong with my heart, why is it beating so fast like this? Aish’’ Little did I knew, I’ve fallen for her, for her smile. Suddenly, like there’s a spirit comes to me saying that I have an important duty that I have to bring her smile back, her most sincerely smile, not that fake smile.

Weekend is coming again and as usual, Jung Eunji would come to our coffee shop and I saw Luna already prepared her usual menu and about to send it to her but as fast as I can, I stopped her step

‘’Noona, hmm let me do this okay?’’ I took the tray from her hand and she is still in her confuse state

‘’No, I mean, you guys always said that she is our loyal customer, so I guess I need to approached her and yeah I was kinda guilty of what I said about her last week’’I explained ‘’Well, good then if so, I think you should do it to’’ Luna said as she patted my shoulder

Slowly I brought my step to her place and I took my deep breath before I start to approach her

‘’Good morning, Miss, your breakfast is served. I hope you enjoy it’’ I put a cup of coffee and a slide of cheesecake on the table and I noticed that she look at me confusing

‘’Oh, I’m Kim Jongdae, the new owner of this coffee shop. Not the new owner exactly, it just my father Mr. Kim gave this coffee shop for me to manage it’’

Without any answer she nodded and not forget to curve a smile on her lips

‘’H-hmm by the way, can I sit here? I mean I heard that you’re our loyal customer, so I think I need to get know my loyal customer, and I heard even my dad knows you that well, so may I?’’ I’m waiting for answer and I shouted ‘yes!’ in my heart as she allowed me to sit

‘’You don’t seem like you’re talking that much’’ I said as I laughed awkwardly. It’s really awkward.

‘’Yeah, I’m sorry, maybe because we just know each other’’

‘God, her voice is beautiful as her smile-‘

‘’Yeah, you’re right. Haha so did I bother you? If so I will leave you—‘’ Yeah, I felt like I’m bothering her own moment to be honest. Like, you can see it in her reaction

‘’No—no, you’re not. I just— I’m sorry if I made you feel so’’ She grinned

‘’You look so beautiful grinned like that’’ Without I realized those words slip out from my lips

‘’W-what?’’ She blinked and I noticed what I’ve said

‘’N—no, nothing. Haha’’

‘’Yeah, but I believe I heard something. Haha, so you’re new here. So how’s work anyway as a new manager?’’

So finally she starts to get comfortable around me. Well, Minseok hyung’s right. She is lovely.

‘’Well, it kinda hard and yeah I’m still not that familiar with the situation and this place. I live at State for almost 5 years so it’s kinda different. To be honest I need someone to shows me more about this street, anything but yeah everyone is busy, so I think I need to do it by myself’’ I shrugged 

‘’I see, but hey, what about if I help you to get know the place around. I’m free anyway’’ She suggested

‘Great! That what was I’m waiting for’ Cheered me in the heart and I tried to act cool in front of her

‘’Really, Miss-?’’ ‘’Jung Eunji, just called me Eunji by the way’’

‘’Alright, Eunji? Is it really okay for you?’’ I asked to reassured about her offer

‘’Yeah, it is. Why? You don’t wanna go with me or maybe you afraid if your girlfriend finds you out with other girl?’’ She chuckled

‘’N-no, that’s not I mean, I mean yeah maybe you feel kinda uncomfortable with it since we just know each other like yeah we are still strangers?’’ 

She laughed at my words. Really I love her laughed, her eyesmile.

Eunji’s POV

‘I don’t know why did I feel comfortable with him even we just knew each other. I’m not that kinda of person even I’m friendly type. It was just Baekhyun oppa ever made me felt that way’ Eunji’s thought.

After I finished my breakfast, I walk him around the street and tell him everything at the street, those shops around and else. After almost an hour half walking around, we rested under a big tree. For a reason, a longing for Baekhyun oppa is coming to me again. We used to sit under the tree back then; the view from the tree is really beautiful with the fresh air. I signed a bit, but load enough to approach that Jongdae’s ears.

‘’Why? Are you okay, Eunji-shi? Are you tired?’’ He asked non-stop.

‘’Oh no, just thinking of random thing, I’m fine, Jongdae-shi’’ I replied with a smile. How come I became so careless like this, but I can’t help the thought of Baekhyun oppa.

‘’Ahh, I thought you’re tired or something’’ He nodded and thrown his sight back to somewhere only him knows where. I look at him secretly. He’s talking too much and he is really friendly as well. Since we departed from the coffee shop until here, he talked and asked me non-stop. He talked about his life at State, how is it different when first time he came back to Korea, his hobby, his addiction to coffee, he really wants to become a barista like Minseok-shi someday and else.  Guess what? He really does remind me of Baekhyun oppa. He’s talkative, just like him.
