Music.

Lively, bouncy music.

The sound saturated the air alongside laughter and smiles.

I could smell the happiness.

Music

Slow, creepy music.

The sound filled the room. No laughter, terrified faces.

I could smell the fear.

That night was horrific. It was a spontaneous bend in a road I wish i'd never set foot on.

I didn't know why they left.

Or why my mother looked scared of me.

Or why my father was tugging her and my little sister away.

I didn't know why until I looked in the mirror that night. Jet black eyes stared back

I wet my hands to wash my face and blood ran from under my fingerails.

I was scared of myself. And that is why I never left the building. I was only young - 14. A Ringmasters apprentice at my family's circus. At what was the circus.

I'm 23 now.

I haven't seen the light of day or a human face in 9 years.

I don't remember what my voice sounds like. Or what I look like. I don't remember my name as I haven't heard it in a while.

I live in the circus because my life is a freakshow.

I am the main attraction.
