The black Mazda stopped and someone stepped out. The person bypassed the vehicle and opened the passenger’s door, taking out of there a bouquet of daisies.

It was a cold day in Gyeongju, and she [the person] pulled the coat closer around her muscled body.

She [the person] passed by the gates and touched the green garden, which was a bit humid because of the past night’s rain.

She [the person] walked slowly through the tombstones until she [the person] found one in special. She [the person] felt her heart beating fast while she [the person] sat down in front of it.

She [the person] read the name on her mind and smiled, resting the flowers above it.

“Hey, baby” she [the person] greeted, touching the stone gently “I’m sorry for not coming here last week. I was so busy” she [the person] apologized.

The place was empty around him. The lake was calm and sad, just like the sky. It was starting to snow again.

“I am getting married” she [the person] informed “With the woman that I told you” he continued, playing with the land “Things are getting serious between us” he confessed “She is such a great person and she treats me really nicely. She even does a butterflies’ party on my stomach” he laughed, looking up, in an attempt of controlling his tears.

He stood a while quiet, being vanished by a sudden wave of sorrow.

“You can’t come back, right?” he asked, downing his head “I know you can’t” he whispered weakly “But I wish you could. I wish you could be beside me right now and…” he paused, closing his eyes strongly “I wish you could be mine forever” he hissed, breaking down on cries.

He lost the power over himself and hugged the tombstone, caressing it as if he was caressing a human being.

“But you are, aren’t you?” he sobered, going back to the normal “You are mine forever. You told me that in the day of our wedding, didn’t you?” he inquired, separating from the stone “Yes, that is right. Nobody can take you away from me, my mushroom” he smiled angelically.

But darkness covered him again.

“I am sorry” he hissed, ashamed “I am sorry for allowing myself to feel for someone else the things you made me feel” he looked down, interlacing his fingers “But… She will never be you, baby. I may like her but… What I had with you was… Magical” he assured, sighing heavily.

He didn’t know what to say anymore. He wanted so bad to receive her approbation but, at the same time, he wanted to die and go meet his first lover.

“C-Can you… C-Can I… C-Can I-I b-be with t-this other p-person?” he inquired, gulping guilty “Could you let me go just for a while? You said you wanted me to be happy, didn’t you?” he raised his gaze to the sky “Can I?” he questioned.

The silence stood in the ambient. Nothing happened, and he smiled sadly.

Standing up, he fixed his coat and turned around, ready to leave. But he stopped, suddenly remembering something.

“I lov-“ he was interrupted.

A strong wind appeared out of nowhere and passed through him, touching his face. It was supposed to hurt but, instead, he felt like being kissed by an angel.

His eyes filled with tears and he closed them, smiling in a mix of sorrow and happiness.

Nothing blocked his path towards his car.

He was free.
