Hello! Once again, I would like to remind you that the plot of this one shot is not mine for this really happened. I don't know who the guy is but I admire his love for the other guy. I just saw his post and was inspired to make this. So all credits goes to him. I added and changed some parts also.

Baekhyun find himself running like a mad man early in the morning. He forgot that he has to meet his friends at the cafe near his dorm where he is staying for their report tomorrow in this particular subject. He has to join or else bye bye future.

Baekhyun arrived in front of the cafe panting really hard. He saw his friends talking and laughing for an unknown reason but he’s glad that they haven’t started yet. He went in but didn’t noticed the “Wet Floor” sign and slipped. All his papers, books etc were scattered and worst, everyone in the cafe is looking at him. Baekhyun blushed because of embarrassment. His friends came to him and helped him pick all his things. “Yeah,” he nodded. “Are you sure? Nothing hurts?” Chanyeol, his "bff" in their circle of friends asked. And he assured him.

“Let me help you.” someone offered a hand to him. Baekhyun looked up and saw a guy.

He was stunned at first but doesn’t want to be rude so he accepted his offer. Baekhyun’s friends is teasing him when that guy smiled at him went out of the cafe. “Stop it, guys. He just helped me. Let’s start already.” he said but of course his friends will every now and then.

Baekhyun didn’t feel anything when he saw that guy, though.

The result of their report? It's not that low but not that high either. That's why Baekhyun is kinda upset. He really wants to get a high grade on that subject. If only he and his friends put a lot of effort in that report then maybe...sigh. But what done is done. At least they didn't fail. Yes, that's what matters. He said to himself. 

He entered the elevator head down. He pressed the floor where his space is located

"Why do you look so dull?" someone suddenly spoke that made Baekhyun flinched. He looked to his side and saw the guy yesterday.

They guy smiled at him, "Hi, I'm Kim Jongin but you can call me Kai." and extended his arm in front of him. Baekhyun gulped, "H-Hello, I'm Baekhyun. Byun Baekhyun." and they shake hands.

"Soo, any problems?" Kai asked. "Oh? None, it's just that yeah. Never mind. Nothing serious." He replied with a small smile. Kai nodded.

Silence.

Baekhyun is having an argument with himself whether to say something or just ignore him. The silence is killing him! He looks at Kai who is looking at him. Why is he looking at me? he thought. 

"Uh," he started, "Thank you." Kai raised an eyebrow. "For...yesterday? You know..." Kai chuckled. "Ah, it's nothing. I find you cute though with your flushed face." Baekhyun puffed his cheeks. Why does everyone says that? he thought. Byun Baekhyun might be squishy and all but for him his "manly" yeah.

The elevator doors opened and they went out. They both got shocked when their units is just across each other.

Baekhyun has been staying here for 2 years and didn't know that Kai is living just across of him. "Since when did you moved there?" he asked. "Oh, I just moved two days ago." Kai said. Baekhyun nodded.

Since then, they would see each other often. Not just in the university but everywhere. It wasn't until 2 months later. Kai asked him out. Well not that kind of out. He asked him in a friendly manner. Of course he agreed. Sometimes they will go out with their friends that lead the two groups bond.

Baekhyun and Kai got closer than before. They would do anything together. They would sleep in each other's units. They will always jog around the university and etc. Like what best friends do. 

Then, there's this time when Kai needs to go back in his hometown.

Baekhyun woke up with a smile on his face. He immediately did his morning routines. After that he went out of his unit and pressed Kai's doorbell but no one opened the door that made him frown. Unlike these past few weeks. Just one ring and Kai will open the door with his wonderful smile. According to Baekhyun.

He was about to press the doorbell again when he received a message.

Kim Jonginnie 

Good Morning baekkie~

I will not be around for 2 days. I need to go home.

My mother said she wants to see you so maybe when I will bring you with me next time. In the meantime, enjoy by yourself. Keke. Kidding. Just do whatever you did when I was not around before! See you :)

Do what I was doing when you're not around before? he asked himself. What does Byun Baekhyun do when he Kim Jongin is not yet there. Hm, let's see. Study study study sometimes hang out with his friends but mostly he would kill his time by studying. In short, Byun Baekhyun's life is dull before but when he met a guy named Kim Jongin. Everything changed. Even his friends noticed this. The old Baekhyun is not that bubbly but now he's the mood maker along with Chanyeol. It's like Kai became a light in his life. And he's thankful. Very thankful.

He noticed that he can't do anything without Kai by his side. For the whole day Baekhyun didn't do anything much. Yes, he hang out with his friends but it's not the same. For the next day, he can't wait because Kai will return tomorrow! He continuously ring the doorbell in Kai's unit even though he knows no one will answer. When Kai messaged him saying he can't wait to see him again. Before he went so sleep that night he realized something. 

He's in love with Kim Jongin.

"Why did you asked me to come here? What for?" Kai asked.

They are in Baekhyun's unit. Baekhyun decided to tell his feeling to Kai. No matter what will happen he will accept it. He just want to say what his heart really feels because it feels like it's going to burst anytime. Every time he's with him he will get this butterflies inside his stomach. Wow, he didn't knew those feelings are real. This is the first.

Baekhyun bit his lip and sighed softly. "Uhm, nothing? ah, I mean..I.." he hesitated. What if Kai doesn't feel the same way? What if their "relationship" changed after this. He doesn't want that to happen. But awhile ago, he's so determined to say his feelings.

Kai frowned, "What? I can't understand you. What is it?" Baekhyun didn't know if Kai's already annoyed but he's nervous okay!

"I love you." 

There. Baekhyun said it finally! He looked at Kai who's looking at him wide eyes.

"W-What did you just said?" he stuttered. Baekhyun gulped. Is this is? The end of their friendship?

"I love you. I love you ever since. I-I don't know, I'm confused." he said honestly. "Are you sure about that? Because I know, I loved you from the start." Baekhyun felt his heart beating really fast. He felt...happy. Baekhyun hugged him and Kai hugged him back. They feel contented in each other's arms. Really contented.

"Is this right? We're both males!" Baekhyun asked him. Kai shook his head, "I don't know either. But I know I love you. End of discussion, okay?" and kissed Baekhyun.

After that, they start having this feeling. That feeling in which one of them will die if they are not together. They always visit each other's unit like what they've been doing but this time they will cook for each other. They will do household chores together.

"Baekkie~" someone whispered lovingly in his ears disturbing his sleep. But when he opens his eyes he didn't feel annoyed at all. Why? Kai is there with a tray full of foods.

"Let's eat breakfast here in your bed!" he exclaimed. Baekhyun sat up as Kai put the tray down on the bed. "But first," he pecked Baekhyun's lips, "Good Morning" Baekhyun softly hit Kai's chest with his right hand while his left hand is covering his lips. "I didn't brush my teeth yet!" he said. Kai shrugged, "I don't care" Baekhyun pouted and Kai pinched his cheeks. "Seriously, I don't care, Baek."

Or when Baekhyun is studying for his exams or just simply studying Kai will appear out of nowhere.

*ding dong*

Baekhyun opened the door and was surprised when he saw his boyfriend with a bouquet and a box of chocolates. 

"Delivery for Mr. Byun Baekhyun from his Prince Kim Jongin!" Kai said while laughing because Baekhyun's reaction is priceless. "Hi, Baek! I just want to give you these. Fighting!" he hands the bouquet and the chocolates to Baekhyun. He cupped his face and placed a kiss on his forehead. "I love you." and went back to his unit. Leaving the small guy who is still shocked. But soon, a smile is plastered on his face. "My boyfriend is so sweet."

Baekhyun's love for Kai is growing. Day by day.

It was a rainy day when the doorbell rang.

Baekhyun opened the door and saw his boyfriend who is very wet. He immediately invited him in and gave him a towel and a pair of clothes. They are in the living room when Baekhyun asked Kai where did he go when it's raining really hard outside. Kai just smiled and showed him a box.

"Here. I bought this for us." Baekhyun raised an eyebrow. Kai opened the box and revealed two rings. Baekhyun gasp. "J-Jongin..." Kai took one ring and put it on, "This one is for me," and he took the remaining ring and put it on Baekhyun's finger, "and this one is for you. Don't lose it okay?" and kissed Baekhyun's hand before pecking his lips. Again, Kim Jongin melted Byun Baekhyun's heart. And Baekhyun swore, he will never leave this man.

Years has passed, but their love is a lot stronger. Baekhyun graduated already and now working. But Jongin...he was diagnosed with cancer. All of their dreams crushed down. But Baekhyun needs to be strong for him, for them. They still need to have a family even though it's through adaption. They still need to get married. Every night, when Kai's sleeping Baekhyun will just silently cry. He can't bear the pain he is feeling. Everything hurts. The man he loves may leave him. The only one who truly loves him. His everything.

It was as if yesterday, when Kai's mother called him saying Kai wanted him there. So, he rushed to the hospital. When he got there he saw Kai sleeping but when his mother whispered something to him he opened and his eyes and smiled at Baekhyun. They were left alone.

Baekhyun is sitting beside Kai's bed holding his hand. "Baek?" Baekhyun hummed. "Promise me something," Kai said, "If I will die today, please move on. I don't want you to destroy your life. Love again, okay? Can you promise me that?" Baekhyun is crying the whole time but managed to uttered 'Promise'. Kai went to sleep but Baekhyun is still holding his hand while he's looking at the ring on his finger.

He woke up the next morning without Kai on the bed and he knew. He knew that his love has passed away. He left him with his heart with him. Baekhyun never felt this kind of pain before. This is too much. He cried and cried. His friends came to him and starts to calm him. He needs no one. He wants Kim Jongin. He wants him back. He wants to feel his love again. Who will be there to cheer him up when he's studying? Who will wake him up just to eat breakfast on the bed? Who will do everything Kim Jongin did to him? He can't imagine anyone doing it.

Everyday he will visit Jongin's grave with flowers. He will only say two words; first, "I love you" and second, "I'm sorry, because in all of what you want me to do, the last one is the hardest. Until now, I'm still in love with you."
