"Jeongmal?! (Really?!)" I nearly yelled at my parents. "Aniyo! (No!)" I rejected the preposterous idea my parents had brought up, in the middle of dinner. I slam my fork and knife down, before I lost some of my self control and did something I would surely regret. "How could you do this to me Umma? Appa?" I asked them, with utter disbelief.
"It's for your own good, Micha-ah," my mother stated, while glaring at me from across the table when I slammed my utensils down. My father just sat there in silence, like he always did, when my mother and I were fighting.
"For my own good?!" I asked, incredulously. I scoffed. "You're FORCING me into an ARRANGED MARRIAGE with this guy!" She emphasized her point.
"Choi Young Soo is wealthy, and he knows how to carry on your father's company. He's a good prospect, indeed. Surely don't intent to carry on with this ridiculous infatuation you have on that boy from school," she spoke in a curt tone that told me her last sentence was not a question.
I glared at my mother for a while, still not believing that my mother had struck a new low, by actually arranging a marriage for me. I mean, she’s tried to break me and Henry up before, but to actually arrange a MARRIAGE for me? I scoffed at the proposal of an arranged marriage; I was pissed off. "I do too intend to carry on with this 'ridiculous infatuation,' mother, because I love Henry. Regardless of what background he comes from!"
