Attempt

Change

"Yoon Bomi, I'm sorry." Bomi stared straight at Chorong. The girl that had forgotten her is apologising, what could it be for?

"Naeun told me. I'm sorry for being an unreasonable girlfriend and inflicting so much pain on you. Y'know, I'm not worthy to be your girlfriend."

"No.. I could've been more understanding and more patient. I mean, had I not acted out of rage, nothing would have happened to you. I deserve all these consequences." Bomi hung her head low, still blaming herself for everything that had happened.

Patting Bomi on her head, Chorong comforted, "Stop blaming yourself, hmm? Look, I'm fine now."

"But-" Bomi was cut off when Chorong placed a single finger right at .

"No but-s." This made Bomi pout slightly.

"Fine. You want me to punish you right? You want to make it up for what you've done right?" The younger nodded her head profusely. "Okay. Then there's one thing you can do."

Bomi's expression signalled Chorong to continue. "Stay with me. Help me remember."

"Gladly." Bomi finally smiled. "Even if you don't want me to, I will bug and bother you all day."

***

The door closed behind them. After taking a deep breath, Naeun said, "Eunji ah we need to talk."

"Chorong wants coffee. Let's get coffee." Eunji was in an attempt to change the topic again.

"Can't you tell she just wants us to talk? You're not giving me the chance to, so she's creating the chance for me to."

"I'm just going to get coffee for them and go back in."

"Jung Eunji, can't you just listen to me? Is it that hard?" Naeun grabbed onto Eunji's shoulder, forcing the latter to look at her. She did not exactly shout, it was more like raising her voice slightly. The silence that came after was rather unpleasant to Naeun, so she continued. "What on earth is stopping you from listening to me? All I ever wanted to say was-"

"No, I can't just listen to you. It's not just listening to begin with! It's going to haunt me. Whatever you're going to say is going to be stuck in my mind. It is going to occupy my brain so much it would drive me crazy. It is that hard." By now, Eunji was rather agitated, so tears started forming in her eyes. In an attempt to hide it, she turned away, back facing Naeun.

"What's stopping me? Everything is. I'm scared, y'know? I'm scared of what's going to come out of your mouth. I'm not even sure how it's gonna be like. I thought you didn't like saying anything. You didn't tell me a single thing and you just left for America after sending me that text. Why are you trying so hard to tell me something now? You could just text me like 'Oh I'm leaving' and everything's settled. Settled for you, that is."

Eunji turned back to face Naeun, this time on her own accord. Tears were flowing freely, and she pretty much did not care. She just wanted to let it out. All out.

"That day was my birthday. Instead of sending me a "happy birthday" and expressing your whatever feelings for me, I woke up to a text saying you're leaving for good. Do you know how I felt? Totally lost. It was like the whole sky had fallen on me. I rushed to the airport but you weren't there, saying that I was depressed is an absolute understatement. For the next few days, I was seriously just pathetic. Refused to eat, locked myself in the room, everything. I just cried and cried all day, like how Bomi did when Chorong was unconscious. I blamed myself for not catching on earlier, for letting you go. It was a hard time, and I finally got over it. Then the next moment you came back and I feel my life in a mess again."

Eunji paused to wipe her tears away. "So now, don't try to say you have something to tell me, when you never once told me anything."

After she had finished saying what she wanted, Eunji walked away. Naeun did not follow either, she was in shock. She stood rooted, processing the long thread of words that had just been shouted to her.

Eunji entered with two cups of coffee. Judging from how there were tear stains on her face and the fact she entered alone, the two girls inside already knew it was not a great outcome.

"Here's your coffee, I'll be leaving first," Eunji announced lifelessly. The two girls just stared as she placed the coffee on the table and walked out.

"Bomi ah, go after her. I'll go find Naeun."

"But I can't leave you alone! And it's not safe for you to walk around alone too."

"Go. I can handle this." Bomi had an expression full of conflict. She knew Eunji needed someone, yet she just could not bring herself to leave Chorong like that. Especially when she just woke up.

"Go," Chorong urged. Bomi sighed and nodded.

"I'll come back later."

It did not take much effort for Bomi to catch up with Eunji. As expected, she found the girl crying. She offered the coffee to her and said, "Take something warm. It'll calm you down."

Instead of taking the cup of coffee, Eunji hugged Bomi, hiding her face in the latter's shirt. Bomi returned the hug and the two just stood there. No words were shared, the only sounds were the footsteps of people walking past, and of course, Eunji's sobbing.

On the other hand, Chorong took some time to find Naeun. When she spotted her, she was sitting on a seat at one of the dead-ends, her face buried into her hands. Chorong approached her as fast as she could - it was hard for her to walk since the accident - and took out the tissue packet in her pocket.

"Y'know, tissue absorbs tears better than hands do," Chorong said in a joking tone, trying to lighten the mood before she comforted her. And it worked, Naeun looked up and forced out a smile before taking the tissue.

"You really like corners, huh? I always find you crying in corners, like that time in school."

"Huh, you remember?" Naeun somehow knew what Chorong was referring to.

"Yeah, I remember pretty much everything related to you. It's just Bomi..." Chorong showed a slightly upset expression, but brushed it off quickly. "But it's alright."

"There are less people at corners. It's always you who appears."

"Because you have a good friend here who knows you well." This ego statement of Chorong cheered Naeun up a little as she chuckled at it.

"Couldn't deny that even if I wanted to."

"Naeun ah, you can just cry if you want to."

"I don't know how to feel.."

"Just let it all out." As those words were heard, Naeun cuddled into Chorong's arms. She was always grateful to have met Chorong. With Chorong by her side, Naeun knew her eyes would be swollen in no time, yet she would definitely feel better.

A/N: Sorry for the long rant by Eunji heh >< 2eun didn't work out still :/ what's going to happen? And I wonder how Bomi is going to help Chorong remember~

Chapter 31: feels and memories and emotions uwaahh T.T can you believe I commented here so long ago when this was still being written? I'm gonna say that every time I see my name hehe, it's so cool and also just wow how time has flown~ like, this was before Luv era? I was here before Luv era?! I forget it myself haha but enough about me, I'll speak on this story.

It was indeed the sweet and dramatic rollercoaster in the best fanfic way possible! haha it just has the tropes I grew up with and written in a nice way; all in the one fic but nothing's out of place. I especially want to highlight how well some conflicts are resolved, like the minor ones that could've caused argument between Chorong and Bomi in the days the parents opposed them. It stood out to me a lot, how much I love that they know each other so well to the point of knowing what they would do - that Chorong punched the wall and also pleaded without dignity. (Bomi being stern and patting her on the head was adorable hehe.) If something's wrong, even if they didn't tell each other immediately or wanted to hide it, the truth came out not long later - like when Bomi was stuck in her house without a phone. Then suddenly Chorong appeared for another reason so that was solved unexpectedly, but you have no idea I was so relieved! Omg and the text messages that led to punching the wall, that part solved quickly and so relieving for me. hahahaha I like that it's unexpected in those ways. through their warmth and tears, thank you for writing this one <3 I've enjoyed it well again ^^

Chapter 4: At least you could write that Eunji likes Naeun, not Bomi, so that neither of them is set aside... and 2Eun is also so good that we'd all love that
Maybe you do that on the next chapters but I haven't got there yet
