My High School crush.

He's a man, because he's not one of the students.

He was my Literature teacher, Mr. Bang Yongguk.

He was still in his late 20s, yet brilliant. Perfect for the job.

It was around spring night, when I got home from group studies.

My mother told me to stop by the rice store to pick up the new sake brew.

The owners are my mother's best friend since elementary.

From the start of the business until now, they always share everything they sell.

I went in the store through backdoor, like I always do.

Mr. Hakkai who was taking a cigarette greeted me warmly and hand me 2 bottles of the goods.

He said he can't wait until I come of age.

The whole store will be closed, but filled, dedicated to me and my friends to celebrate here together.

We talked while we headed out to the front door.

Before I bid my farewell and thanks, someone called my name.

Mr. Bang called me from the seats in the corner, he sat alone.

"A- Oh, good afternoon, Mr. Bang."

"I hope I'm not going to filed a report of my student for underage drinking."

Then Mr. Hakkai laughed it off, told my reasons, then expanding to the stories of his life in his younger days.

The clock turned to almost 11 PM.

"Mr. Hakkai, it's getting late. If you don't mind, excuse me, I have to send my student here home."

Mr. Hakkai realized his blabber mouth and apologized to me.

"Not at all, Uncle. You know I like to hear your tales, since I was 3."

I earned smiles from both Mr. Hakkai and Mr. Bang.

It's the hundredth times Mr. Bang smiled at me that night.

He stole glances since he called me before I supposed to leave.

In front of the shop I bowed down at him.

"Have a good night, Mr. Bang. See you at school."

I was about to leave when he grabbed my arm.

"I'll send you home."

I shake my head, "It's only 10 minutes walk from here. Thank you, Mr. Bang, but you should catch your train."

He flicked my forehead, like he always do when I spaced out in class. Thinking of him, ironically.

"I need to make sure my student safe. Obey your teacher and start walking."
