The bright afternoon light carefully casted through the large window perfectly highlighting the blank paper that sat in front of you. The texture of the paper was so comforting to feel, the way that it looked and how beautiful simplicity could be. Lifting the lightest pencil out of your case, you looked out the window and crossed your legs, trying to find the perfect inspiration for your drawing of the day.

Leaning over, you opened the window slightly; the beautiful, warm, fresh spring breeze gently blew through the windows. The radio played in the background, the soft music helped you think while inspiration just came to you like a light bulb flipping on.

A smile curled on your face while you started to draw the outline for your drawing. A rounder oval was carefully sketched and with some lines for aligning the eyes  and the nose along with the lips and ears.

The beautiful light pencil carefully moved over your paper while your mind went over his features, how warm and comforting they were. But you knew that your drawing could never be as good as the real thing.

Once all of the beautiful features of his face were lightly sketched, you moved up to a heavier pencil and started to create the eyes and the edges of his lips. His song come over the radio and you couldn’t help but smile and blush a little at the sight of him singing. While you happily drew, you hummed to the song while the birds chirped outside.

Tilting your head from side to side, you took a break and looked out the window. Running your tongue over your lips and your fingers through your hair, you couldn’t think of anything but your boyfriend, Sunggyu. Turning your attention back to your drawing, you finished his kind, soft, and loving eyes. With a little more blending of the graphite, you finished his plump, yet perfect lips. His nose was the hardest for you but after a while, you finally got it perfect.

His face was really coming to life on your page, taking your blending tools, you carefully highlighted his chin and cheek bones as well as the skin under his hair. Shading his ears, you added some of your favorite earrings on him. But when you got to his hair, you were hesitant. Hair was never your strong suit and you, honestly, hadn’t had much practice with doing hair.

Closing your eyes once again, you visualized his hair in your perfect hair style. Building your confidence slowly, you started with the light pencil and drew every of hair. Occasionally taking a break, you moved to darker pencils, working on the lowlights while you hummed to more songs on the radio.

Loosing track of time, you were just about finished, with his neck left to do and the top of his shirt, you looked over your drawing. To you it was decent but you wouldn’t let Sunggyu see this, it was more of a private hobby to you than one that you would show off to everyone that you could.

An hour later, Sunggyu unlocked your front door with the spare key that you gave him. Making his way inside, he slipped off his shoes, hanging up his jacket and placing his duffel bag against the wall, his eyes moved around your apartment, but when he found you, he broke out into a smile.

The beautiful scene before him was breathtaking; you sat on the window seat in front of a large window that casted its light through the whole apartment. With your head tilting from side to side, the pad of paper moved under your grasp while the pencil in your hand carefully twitched in your hand. The soft humming from you was heard and Sunggyu couldn’t help but feel his heart swell at the tender moment.

Making his way over to you, he tried to see what you were working on. Never seeing you draw before he was becoming increasingly curious as to how good you were and what you were drawing.

Inching closer, you were too encased in your drawing and humming to see Sunggyu looking over at your drawing. Sunggyu’s eyes carefully moved your drawing, his eyes followed the hair as it hung over one of his eyes, the deep yet comforting eyes met his, then his nose and lips were the next for him to admire.

“Wow this is beautiful.” Sunggyu whispered not wanting to break your concentration. However, he did something worse, your whipped your head around to see Sunggyu leaning over you with his eyes moving over your drawing, you quickly pulled the pad of paper up to your chest.

“W-What are you doing here?” You questioned him a little shocked that he was here.

“You gave me a spare key, and I missed you.” He smiled looking over at you before kissing your cheek. “I really liked your drawing of me.” He whispered by your ear sending shivers down your spine.

Falling silent to his words, you chewed on your bottom lip while you folded the cover of your sketchbook over and placed it under one of the pillows that surrounded you.

“What are you doing? I wanted to watch you more.” Sunggyu grinned from ear to ear while your expression turned sour.

“I don’t want you to watch me anymore.” You whispered before getting off of your window seat and moving into the kitchen, the side of your dominant hand was covered in graphite and you moved to the sink to wash it off.

“Why not, your drawing was amazing!” Sunggyu looked at you a little confused but followed you into the kitchen.

Turning on the water, you took a deep breath and placed your hands under the warm water, rubbing them a little you then got some soap and started washing them.

“No they aren’t.” You quietly retorted.

“Yes they are! The drawing of me actually looked like me!” He beamed leaning against the counter behind you.

“No they aren’t, it is just something stupid that I do. It isn’t anything special.” You got a little louder while you washed your hands more furiously. The suds started to form between your hands with a tint of grey from the graphite on your hands.

Sunggyu walked over and pulled the sketch book from under the pillow, he opened the cover and saw the first page, and it was a beautiful ‘This Book Belongs to…’ page. With your name perfectly placed on the line, he smiled and flipped the page, page after page he saw a different talent through each page. If it was animals one drawing, people or abstract then next it was yours and you made it unique and beautiful. Walking back over to the counter, he placed your book on the counter while he flipped page after page, his jaw dropping at each unique masterpiece that was before him.

“You have a talent! These pictures are all so beautiful” Sunggyu commented while you finally rinsed your hands. Turning off the water, you grabbed a towel and dried your hands.

“Sunggyu!” You yelled when you saw him looking through your sketch book. Reaching in front of him, you pulled the cover back over the book and took it away from him.

“What?” Sunggyu questioned you while his attention turned to you.

“I don’t want you to see them.” You admitted softly while your fingers played with the edges of the sketchbook.

“Why not?” Sunggyu looked into your eyes while your eyes dropped off. Placing the towel on the counter, you let out a deep breath just trying to find the right words.

“I don’t think that they are good.” You thoughtfully remarked. Sunggyu looked at you with heart felt eyes and took a step towards you.

“I think that they are.” Sunggyu reached out and placed his hand on your shoulder while his thumb gently rubbed against your skin.

“You are my boyfriend, you have to say that.” You glanced up at him while clutching your sketchbook closer to your chest.

“I don’t have to, but I do.” He moves closer to you. You fell silent at his words, placing the sketchbook on the counter, you bit your lip once again but this time your eyes moved up to meet his.

“You really think that they are good?” You asked him softly, hope filling your eyes. A smile pulled his lips letting his show off his teeth to you, a nod soon followed. Moving closer to you, he pulled the sketchbook between the two of you.

Starting at the first page, he told you two things that he liked about it and with every page turn he added two more. Page after page, he only said good things and amazing compliments. Looking over at his side profile; you saw that he really meant what he said. The words coming from his heart, you couldn’t help but smile and move closer to him.

Wrapping your arms around him, he wrapped his free hand around you and placed it on your back. Then after every finished page was turned, he looked down at you and wrapped his other arm around you.

“Didn’t I tell you that you were amazing and talented?” He whispered into your hair.

“Everyone else is so perfect and they can make them look like you and I didn’t think that you wouldn’t like my art because it wasn’t like others.” You confessed.

“Did you know that everyone has their own talents and are on different levels with those talents, not everyone can be just like everyone else? Everyone has their own stages in their talents, some find their earlier than others but as long as you do your best and you improve from your last drawing, that is all that matters. If you love it then there is no reason for you to compare, it will only make you sad but if you look at yourself and see how far you have come, you will be proud and more confidant.” Sunggyu lovingly said. “I love your talents and I love you.”

Sunggyu kissed your head gently while holding you against his body, he rested his head on yours and you tightened your grip around him.

“Thank you.” You whispered softly. At those two little words, he smiled and rubbed your back gently.

“Would you mind if I used you one day for like a model and I draw you?” You questioned him quietly, your ear was pressed against his chest and once you asked your question, you heard his heart pick up pace.

“You really think I am that handsome?” He questioned cutely.

“You are.” You whispered. “Would you do it for me?”

“Only, if I can see the drawing when you are finished.” He smiled lifting his head from yours, lifting your head from his chest, you looked up at him with a smile.

“I guess so, but you are the only one that can see them okay?” You proposed

“Okay” He whispered softly before lifting your chin and pressing his lips to yours.
