I'm sorry.

Don't Love Me

Sungyeol tried very hard to forget his face, his smile, his scent, his eyes, and everything about him. He tried, he really tried. But why he couldn't erase him in his heart? Why did the one he wanted to forget was always in his dreams? Everytime Sungyeol wanted to forget him, he always ended up crying while holding the picture that he wanted to forget although he still loved him.

The tall boy regretted his decision, but what could he do? He already said it. Nothing could change the fact that he already said it to his one true love. He missed him. He missed his warmth, his smile, his lips and everything about him. Sungyeol just missed it so much. But nothing could change the fact that they were not together anymore. He and Kim Myung Soo were over.

~*~

Sungyeol got out of his room and tiredly walked to the front door. He wore his shoes, put his hoodie up and fixed his cap. “Where are you going?” A lovely voice, clearly his mom's, greeted him. There was slight concern in her voice because she knew what his son was going through. Hurt, and broken to bits.

“I want to have some fresh air.”

“Sure, take care dear.”

The tall boy just noded weakly and twisted the door knob open before walking out from the house. He didn’t know where he wanedt to go so he just walked around aimlessly. Somehow, he ended up sitting on a bench near the neighbourhood's playground.

He still remembered how he met Myungsoo right at this very place.

Sungyeol smirked.

-FLASHBACK-

“Daeyeol! Don’t run or you will fall down and get hurt!”

Sungyeol chased his younger brother around the playground. He kept calling for his stubborn younger brother and didn't stop chasing him until he was suddenly bumping into someone - it was a boy. The sudden impact made Sungyeol and the random boy fell down to the ground with a loud thud

“Oww!” Cried Sungyeol.

Sungyeol was panicking when his palm suddenly started to bleed. It was probably because he'd accidentally pressed his hand againts a stone as he did his dramatic fall.

“Are you okay?”

Sungyeol looked up just to see a handsome boy in front of him, wearing a worried expression across his face.

“I-I’m okay, I think...”

“I’m sorry for bumping into you.”

“Nah~ It’s not your fault, it was my fault actually. I’m really sorry.” Sungyeol slightly bowed to the boy but winced in pain when his hand touched his shirt. There was a smudge of blood at where he'd touched it.

“You’re bleeding!” The boy exclaimed, eyes widened.

“Y-yes...”

“Oh god! I’m so sorry! Here, let me help you.”

“It’s okay--”

“No, it’s not okay.”

"But--"

“No buts, follow me.”

The boy took Sungyeol’s other hand and dragged him to a near bench.  The boy immediately opened his bag and took out a bottle of water and a pink coloured handkerchief. He then opened the water bottle but suddenly paused for a moment before extanding out a hand to Sungyeol's way.

“Give me your hand.”

Sungyeol hesitantly gave the boy his bleeding hand. He knew that it will hurt like hell but he didn’t know why he just quietly follow every order that was given by the boy.

“It will hurt,” The boy said as a matter-of-factly.

Sungyeol nodded.

“Please hold it in.”

Sungyeol nodded .

“I will pour the water, okay?”

He nodded again.

“Are you afraid?”

He was about to nod again but stopped himself when he realized what the boy was saying.

“Don’t worry, I’ll treat you an ice cream later.”

“I’m not a child.” He grumbled back.

The handsome boy just chuckled and Sungyeol froze at that. He didn’t even feel the pain as the boy diligently cleaned the blood on his palm and wrapped the pink handkerchief over his palm. Sungyeol just kind of stared at the handsome boy. However, when the boy raised his palm to give it a kiss, he was back in reality.

Sungyeol's eyes got wide.

“W-what are you…doing?”

“Oh, I’m so sorry. I don’t know why I did that.”

Sungyeol looked at the boy in confusion.

The boy laughed breathily. It sounded heavenly to his ears. “I always do that to ease up the pain. I’m sorry if you feel uncomfortable.”

“Oh, it’s okay.”

Sungyeol smiled and when the handsome boy smiled back, Sungyeol melted into a puddle.

“By the way, what’s your name, cutie?”

Sungyeol pouted.

“I’m not cute!”

“Then what is up with these cheeks of yours?”

The handsome boy playfully pinched Sungyeol’s right cheek.

Sungyeol swatted the hand away. “My name is Lee Sungyeol.”

Sungyeol. Hmmm. Cute name for cute boy.”

“I’m not cute!” Sungyeol said while pouting and crossing his arms over his chest.

The boy laughed. “My name is Myungsoo. Kim Myungsoo”

“I didn’t ask for you name though.”

Myungsoo only smirked back.

“Hey, wait a minute. Where’s my ice cream? The one you'd promised earlier.” Sungyeol pouted again.

Myungsoo laughed once more. Sungyeol was acting like a kid and to him, the whole thing was adorable as hell. “Such a kid, haha. Sure Yeollie, let’s go.”

Before Sungyeol could even blush at the new nickname, Myungsoo had already pulled him up and both of them walked to a nearby ice-cream shop.

And Sungyeol totally forgot his younger brother. Well... whatever.

-END FLASHBACK-

Sungyeol suddenly felt thirsty so he got off  the bench and made his way to shop. Yeah, the same ice-cream shop. The one where Myungsoo had bought an ice cream for him. It made him stop in his track when he remembered the memory of him and Myungsoo. Tears began to form in his eyes. He quickly turned around and walked off to another direction. He was already crying.

He made his way to the side of the road, waiting for the traffic light to turn green so he could go across it. A minute later, the light turned green and he started walking. It was that moment when he saw a very familiar figure on the opposite side of the road.

Kim Myung Soo.

Myungsoo stared straight into his eyes and he couldn't move as if his feet were glued. So he just stood there. In the middle of the road.

“Hey you! Do you want to die? Get off from the damn road!”

Someone yelled at Sungyeol. Startled, Sungyeol immediately turned around and walked quickly to the crowd of people. At that, Sungyeol had completely blended into the crowd and he lost sight of him. Without Sungyeol knowing, tears started to roll down his cheeks. Again.

I blankly pace back and forth and look at the sky
Then the traffic light changed and I saw you
I couldn’t take another step and just turned around
As I turned around, on top of my footsteps
Tear marks were engraved one by one

~*~

Myungsoo watched as Sungyeol ran into the crowd. He was in shock. He didn’t know that he’d meet Sungyeol here. He missed him. He missed Sungyeol. And then, someone was poking his arm gently. He turned around to see his fiancée smiling sweetly at him. He couldn't help but sigh.

His fiancée was pretty, kind, and sweet but he didn't love her like he love Sungyeol. No, definitely not. Oh, he missed Sungyeol so much.

Myungsoo forced out a smile. “Let’s go.”

The girl smiled back, taking Myungsoo’s hand into hers and start walking.

~*~

I'm such an idiot! Why can’t I forget him? It's already 4 months since I broke up with him! But why can’t I forget him?

Sungyeol sobbed loudly as he laid on his bed. The moment he met Myungsoo earlier till now, his tears didn’t stop falling down. He actually came home with ugly tears on his cheeks, running into his room and locked the door. Luckily, his mother didn’t saw him, or else she'd be worried as hell.

I’m the one who broke up with you
I’m the one who said it’s over
But it hurts too much when I passed you by

Sungyeol regretted everything. Sungyeol regretted breaking up with Myungsoo, but what could he do? He's just a human. And humans make mistakes.

He still remembered everything Myungsoo's mom had said to him.

-FLASHBACK-

“I want you to break up with Myungsoo.” She said calmly, as if it wasn't a big deal.

“B-but why aunty? I-I thought you accepted our relationship…”

The woman laughed. And Sungyeol felt a little scared by that.

“Why would I want you to be my son-in-law?” She smirked.

Sungyeol gulped hardly. He needed Myungsoo now. Even though it'd already been two years since him and Myungsoo got together, he still couldn’t face Myungsoo’s mother alone.

Myungsoo! I need you!

Sungyeol screamed in his head.

“Look Sungyeol, I know you love Myungsoo. In fact, he loves you too. But Myungsoo is going to take over his father’s company. And he can’t do that if he's with you.”

“Why?”

“Because he’ll be married to my friend's daughter. My husband and my friend’s husband will run this huge company together. And it’ll be more affective if Myungsoo marries my friend's daughter.” She said while drinking her tea calmly, ignoring the crushed look on Sungyeol's face.

He was completely shocked. He couldn't even say a word.

“I hope you’ll break up with him. Actually, I did ask my son to break up with you but he didn’t want to. But I'm sure he'll definitely listen to you. You love him, right?”

Sungyeol nodded weakly, still speechless.

Mrs. Kim smirked. “Then, you should break up with him for his future.”

“I-I… I don’t know if I want to do that.”

“Yes, you will Lee Sungyeol. I mean, you don’t want your father's company to bankrupt right?”

Sungyeol stared into Mrs. Kim eyes in shock. How could she even...

“So you’ll break up with him, right?”

Sungyeol thought for a minute before noddding furiously. He started crying.

“Good boy. Now Myungsoo will be happy without someone like you.”

-END OF FLASHBACK-

Why… why this happen to me. I don't deserve this.

Sungyeol remembered how Myungsoo reacted when he told him he want a break up.

And it hurts so much.

-FLASHBACK-

Sungyeol and Myungsoo were sitting on the couch in the living room with Myungsoo's head on Sungyeol’s lap. They just sat there in an odd silence before Sungyeol broke the ice.

“Myung…”

“Hm?”

“I…”

“What?”

Myungsoo opened his eyes, staring into Sungyeol's eyes confusedly.

I can’t do it! But…I need to do this. I have to.

Sungyeol took a deep breath before releasing it slowly.

“I...I want to break up with you.”

Sungyeol closed his eyes for a moment. Not believing that he'd just said those disgusting words.

“Hahaha, you must kidding me Yeol~ Don't say that. It’s not funny at all, okay.”

Myungsoo said while snuggling into Sungyeol’s stomach.

“I’m serious. Let's break up.” Sungyeol said with a serious tone that sent shivers to Myungsoo's spine.

Myungsoo immediately got up from Sungyeol’s lap. With tears in his eyes, he said, “Please. Don’t.”

“We must break up.”

“But why?”

Sungyeol stayed silent.

“See! Even you can't figure out the reason! So there's no need for us to break up.”

“I… I don’t love you. Not anymore.”

Myungsoo eyes widened as his mouth slightly trembled from holding back his tears.

“I don’t love you. I don’t love you. I just don’t love you anymore, okay? I’m sorry.”

“No! Please Sungyeol, don't do this to me!”

Myungsoo started sobbing loudly and Sungyeol hated seeing that. He wanted to comfort the crying boy so badly but he couldn’t. So he just stared guiltily at him.

“Tell me... it's not... true.” Myungsoo said between his sobs.

“I’m sorry.”

“Look into my eyes and say that you want to break up.”

Sungyeol looked into Myungsoo's eyes. He carefully wiped away the tears and gently caressed Myungsoo's cheeks. Myungsoo leaned into the touch, still didn’t break the eye contact. Sungyeol brought their faces closer before carefully kissing him on the lips. The kiss was sweet and Myungsoo's tears tasted slightly satly on his lips. It was a slow kiss. It was their last kiss.

Sungyeol broke the kiss and stared into Myungsoo's eyes.

“I’m sorry Myungsoo... but please don’t love me anymore.”

Don’t love me
Don’t love me
Don’t love me

Suddenly Sungyeol felt a hand on his cheek. Myungsoo had just slapped him. He looked at Myungsoo and guilty started to rush in. Myungsoo cried hard. He felt the pain on his cheek but he knew it was nothing compared to Myungsoo’s pain.

Lies I say as I hold it in alone, as I swallow it in alone
It hurts this much after I left you
So I hope you aren’t hurting like I am

Sungyeol hugged Myungsoo tightly, trying to collect the familiar scent into his mind. Sungyeol loosened the hug and looked at Myungsoo's face, saving it all in his mind. He didn’t even miss an inch of Myungsoo's face. He pulled Myungsoo's face closer to him and kissed his forehead, and then his nose, and lastly his lips. They stayed like that for a few minutes. Eyes closed and enjoying the kiss for one last time.

Sungyeol got up from the couch but stopped when Myungsoo grabbed Sungyeol's leg. “Please don’t go.” Myungsoo started to cry again. Sungyeol pushed Myungsoo's hand away carefully and immediately he made his way out of the house, never looking back. Myungsoo cried as hard as he could. He still couldn't accept the reality that their relationship had ended just like that.

Little did they know, someone was watching the whole cene from upstairs and smiled evilly.

-END FLASHBACK-

As I look back at our love, as I turn back our love
I’m only filled with regrets and it hurts like this

Sungyeol weakly got up from his bed and walked towards his table. He took out an album and brought it to the bed with him. He opened it and saw a photo of him and Myungsoo eating ice cream together. He smiled weakly. He opened the next page and the next and the next while tears kept falling down.

A few moments later, he fell asleep with the album still opened on his laps. There was a picture of him and Myungsoo smiling widely at the beach. And he dreamed about Myungsoo again.

Don’t love me, don’t love me, don’t love me
Lies I say as I hold it in alone, as I swallow it in alone
It hurts this much after I left you
So I hope you aren’t hurting like I am

~*~

A few months later, an envelope arrived at Sungyeol’s house. It was written ‘Lee Sungyeol’ at the front.

“What is this?” Sungyeol opened the envelope but it suddenly slipped out of his hand and fell down to the floor. He crouched down and took it back to read the contents. Sungyeol started to cry. His mom then rushed to him, asking why he's crying and Sungyeol just passed her the envelope.

And it stated:

“Kim Myung Soo and Choi YeHwa wedding.

Mrs. Lee immediately pulled her son into a hug and Sungyeol couldn't help but cry even more.

Why I’m like this. I should be happy.

I love you love you love you love you love you
Because of my tears
My baby baby baby baby baby
I can’t even see you
I love you love you love you love you love you
As much as I loved
My baby baby baby baby baby
I’m hurting like this, why?

Should I go? Or should I stay? I'm afraid if I go there, I’ll break down in front of everyone - in front of Myungsoo, and ruin the whole wedding.

It hurts this much after I left you
So I hope you aren’t hurting like I am

Now Sungyeol realized that Myungsoo wasn't as hurt as him. He was getting married anyway.

But little did he know, Kim Myungsoo still loved him and will always love him.

No matter what.

Chapter 1: This so much sounds like a romantic K-drama, I cringed a little, simply because I don't like romantic K-dramas xD
You are using language nicely, but what I would suggest is to use some descriptions after the direct speech, add the way how it was said, the emotions that could be seen.
And also don't leave such huge white spaces between the direct speech parts.
Also, writing 'flashback'is not a must. You can use another code - italics, separate the parts with asterisks, use different color maybe. That though is a minor thing.
Do continue. You have something cliche here, but I believe you will ad a twist to it ;]
Keep on writing <3
