Kris unraveled a large blueprint, covered in marks and symbols only readable to him and the other five 
that stood around him.

"Our only entrances are here, here, and here," He said, his finger gliding over the paper. "At precisely 
2230 hours the guards will begin to migrate to the eastern wall where construction is underway. The guards 
at each gate however, will remain. At this time we need to sneak in through the western sewers and surface 
in the courtyard. Once inside, silence is of the utmost importance. If we're discovered it's game over. 
We'll move in the shadows along the walls of the residential buildings until we come to a coded door 
facing North. Tao, our expert hacker, will get us through this one, and the one inside the building. EXO-K
 is on the right side of the room through the doors. Once we have rescued them, we need to escape back
 through the sewers to the R.V that Xiumin will have waiting for us on the other side. Failure is not an 
option. If we're caught they'll experiment on us, too." The members nodded, their eyes not leaving the 
blueprint.

"What if we're too late?" Luhan asked grimly.

"We won't be." Kris replied sternly. "The testing is scheduled for tomorrow night. We have plenty of 
time before then to carry this thing out." Luhan let out an uneasy breath as the others filed out of the 
room to head for the R.V.

"Don't worry, Ge." Tao put a hand on Luhan's shoulder. "We'll get them out in time."

Luhan shifted uneasily in his seat as the R.V bounced over rocky terrain. There were no roads to this 
facility, if there were it would have been shut down by now. Their other half - EXO-K - had been 
captured a while ago without EXO-M's knowledge. After further investigation into their mysterious 
disappearance, it was learned that they were being held captive in a remote research lab and tested 
with potions that would give them superhuman abilities. A new test was scheduled for the following 
night - one that would alter their bodies. It was dangerous and inhumane, so EXO-M knew they would 
have to speed up their plans of a rescue. Luhan's adopted brother - Sehun - was part of EXO-K, and so 
Luhan was more than a little on edge about the only family he had left being held captive and tested on.

There was a lightly rougher bump, before the R.V came to a halt behind a large rocky hill.

"The sewer entrance is a little further ahead, but you'll have to go on foot or we'll be discovered." Xiumin
 said from the drivers seat, not looking back. The others nodded, strapping on their belts and zipping 
their skin-tight jackets up.

"Remember. If you see people coming for you, just drive away. It's better that one of us survives than all 
of us getting caught." Kris instructed. Xiumin nodded with a serious look on his face, before the last 
of EXO-M moved out.

Luhan's feet grew damp as his shoes began to leak. He grimaced at the thought that there was more than 
just water that he was stepping in. Their footsteps weren't like ordinary ones. They had spent many hours 
practicing to make them sound like drops of water or rustling leaves rather than a rhythmic walking 
sound. This way even if they were heard, they wouldn't be suspected as intruders - they would be passed
 off as a natural sound.

They turned a corner, and Luhan knew they were getting close. Kris signaled for them to stay quiet 
and continued to step forward a few more metres before stopping smoothly. He pointed upwards to 
three shafts of moonlight streaming through the grates above them. He placed his long legs on either 
side of the sewerage tunnel and climbed as high as he could until he was doing the splits. He thinned his 
lips in concentration as he lifted the heavy grating quietly off of the hole, sliding it to the side and hoisting
 himself up. Once he was out of the sewer he did a quick check around to make sure there were no stray
 guards, before helping each of the others out one by one. The five pressed their backs against the wall 
and slid around the edge of the courtyard, their black skin-tight suits camouflaging them well in the thick
 shadows.

Once they reached the building that EXO-K was being held captive in, Kris turned around and stepped back, 
waiting for Tao to approach the coding mechanism. It was a digital code luckily - a DNA code would have 
meant a dangerous side mission - and Tao was able to crack it by sprinkling a light dust over the keys to see 
which ones had been more frequently used. Kris smiled and pushed the door open as Tao stood to the side 
with a smug grin. He bumped fists with Chen as the latter walked past before following the others inside. 
He knew there was no one in here besides the people they had come to rescue, so there was no need to be 
absolutely silent anymore. This was a soundproof building for obvious reasons.

"EXO-K should be right through that door." Kris said quietly. Tao smirked.

"Got it." He said, and walked towards the second numeric coding device. It took him a little while to work
 out, but he eventually got it, and the door swung open to reveal six kennel-like cages, in which EXO-K
 were being held. Luhan was the first to enter, silently walking down the hallway so he could see into each 
of the kennels. He began to panick when he reached the last cell and found it empty.

"Where is he?" Luhan asked, his eyes screaming desperation. "Why isn't he here!?"

"Quiet hyung! The guards will hear you!" Kai said nervously.

"We need to break them out quietly, but each door only has a DNA scanner as a coding device. Either we rip
 the doors open on the count of three and nothing happens, or we rip the doors open on the count of three
 and run like hell." Kris explained.

"Are you guys serious?" Luhan asked in panic. "Why does no one seem to care that Sehun isn't here!?"

" up Luhan! Of course we care!" Baekhyun cried, obviously distressed by the accusation. "But it's not
 like we can do anything to change that..." Luhan reached through the cage and grabbed Baekhyun by his 
collar, pulling him up against the door.

"What the  are you talking about!? Tell me where he is!" Luhan was suddenly thrown to the ground, a 
looming figure standing over him.

"Listen Luhan. If you don't calm down and stop yelling right now, we'll all be caught and killed, and it'll be 
your fault. Do you want that?" Chen spoke with a frightening seriousness in his voice. Luhan looked up at
 him from the ground and slowly got up. He remained silent as everyone heard a stampede of tinned footsteps
 rushing towards their location. Kris sent a scowl towards Luhan and pulled a container out of his pocket.

"Explosive putty." He said, passing some to each member. "You know what to do." Kris moved over to a wall 
on the northern side of the room and stuck several small pieces in the wall's weak spots. They had to move 
quickly now that the guards were on their way. It didn't matter if they were heard - they had already been
 discovered. The other members placed their putty on the hinges and DNA scanners of the cage doors, and 
stood back, readying themselves. Kris pressed a button in his pocket and instantly there were many small 
explosions, the walls creating thick clouds of dust and the metal cage doors slamming against the wall.

"Hurry, I'll radio Xiumin and tell him to meet us by the south-eastern corner. Don't turn back, and don't slow 
down. If you try and be a hero, you'll all get killed." Kris pulled a small radio out of his pocket and began to
 run forward as the nine others followed him out of the gaping hole in the wall. Luhan had thick tears streaming
 from his eyes, realizing that Sehun was not in the building, and that he may never see his brother again.

Kris turned a corner rapidly to run down the eastern wall. The guards weren't congregated around there any more,
 as they were all chasing EXO right now instead. The group jumped over various beams and holes that plagued 
the ground as they ran, narrowly avoiding several shots that had been fired at them from the guard tower above. 
Two of the guards on top of the high walls began pushing thick wooden and metal beams from their perches 
atop the scaffolding planks, triggering many more falling beams. EXO-K at the back picked up their pace as 
the entire construction site began to fall to pieces around them, poles and materials raining down and almost 
crushing them. 

At last they saw the R.V dead ahead, Xiumin leaning out of the door hastily yelling and gesturing for them 
to 'Get their asses in the R.V'. 

As the last of EXO-K finally got into the vehicle with EXO-M; the R.V sped off, Luhan watching out the 
open door as the construction site caught fire and the flames screamed bloody murder - though there were 
still some guards on their tails. He closed the door and sat down, slumping in his seat with his head tilted 
back. He shakily inhaled, before wiping the tears off of his cheeks.

"Now will you tell me what happened to Sehun?" He asked, his voice shaky and on the verge of tears. 
EXO-K exchanged unsure glances with each other, some looking like they were about to cry, too. Suho 
finally spoke up, after clearing his throat.

"You see these belts we have on?" Luhan looked at the black leather belts they all wore, each decorated 
with eight glass bottles. "Each of these bottles contains some of the potion they're been testing us with. 
The effects of each are only temporary, but still dangerous nonetheless." Suho explained. On his belt there 
were two bottles each for four colours. Pink, Green, Orange and Purple.

"So which one did Sehun drink?" Luhan asked fearfully.

"Well technically he's had all of them except the purple one. We all have. The pink potion gives you psychic 
powers, the green gives you healing powers and the orange gives you the power to see into the future. We 
don't know what the purple one does yet, and we don't plan on finding out." He said bitterly. "It's not about 
which potion he drunk, it's more to do with-"

"! They cut our gas hose with their bullets!" Xiumin interrupted, swerving slightly so they came to a 
stop on a flat surface. The air in the R.V grew thick as Kris frowned in thought.

"We need to get out of the R.V." He said. "If we stay in here they'll blow us up-"

"But if we get out they'll shoot us!" Kai argued.

"Not if we all run in opposite directions. I know it sounds stupid but there aren't enough guards to follow all 
of us. At least if we all run theres a chance one of us will survive." Kris bowed 90 degrees and stayed silent 
until he came back up. "It has been an honour and a privilege working with all of you." Luhan began to 
breath shakily and followed Suho out the door.

It was only when they saw the 50+ guards surrounding their R.V that they knew there was no chance anymore. 
The head scientist came forward with a rifle and a smug grin.

"Did you really think you could outrun the SM Labs?" He asked with a slight chuckle. "Don't be ridiculous. 
Now that you're trapped, you've got nowhere to go but 6-feet-under." Luhan's heart began to race as his mind 
blurred and there was only one thing he could think of to do.

"There is something we can do!" He cried, ripping the purple potion from Suho's belt.

"Luhan wait!" Suho cried. "We don't know what that does!"

"Then it's about time we found out!" Luhan cried. "I'm gonna drink it Goddammit!" The scientist began to 
look nervous, sweat pouring down his face. He knew what it did. He knew that everyone within a hundred 
metre radius was in danger.

"If you drink that you're putting all of your friends in danger!" He yelled from his barrage of guards.

"That's what you want me to think, isn't it!" Luhan cried.

"Luhan no!" Suho yelled. "Listen to me! The way Sehun died! It was because he took two doses of pink 
potion and became a mutant! He lost his mind and soul because he carelessly drunk a potion like you're 
about to do now!"

"I don't care!" Luhan began to cry, tears of frustration spilling from his eyes. "If that was his fate then maybe 
I can meet him on the other side if that's my fate too!" He ripped the cork from the mouth of the bottle and held 
it to his lips. "Let's see what happens, huh? Let's see if I can't get us out of this mess..." He said quietly, the last 
tear slipping down his cheek as Suho attempted to knock the bottle away.

 

 

 

The second the purple liquid entered his mouth, everything went white.

 

 

~* O n e  m o n t h  l a t e r *~

 

At 6:00pm, the evening news played the same story it had been for the past month.

 

"Police still haven't found any trace of what created this massive crator of a 200 metre diametre. Some are 
saying an undetected asteroid has buried itself in the face of the earth, other say it was planned by the government. 
There are even some theories that a large explosion created this wonder. The only links that had been discovered
 to this incredible phenomenon are the mess of burnt construction materials that lay in a pile of rubble at least 
500 metres from the outside edge of the crator. What used to be located here is still a mystery, though it appears 
to be some kind of fortress with what computer generated images tell us contained two guard towers and a 
courtyard as well as various other buildings. One piece of crucial evidence that the Police and forensics team 
have revealed today, is a mysterious piece of tattered notebook with writing on it matching colours to certain 
inhuman traits such as Healing, Future sight, Psychic powers, and Human Bomb. More on this story, later tonight."
