✌ OO2: Tips on Giving Your Story A Title
✌ Writing Learning Center: Guides, Advices and TipsHerro, your crappy teacher is back after uploading her story chapters. LMAO, don't mind my craps, please.
Today's class will discuss about story titles which affects a lot on catching readers to read your story. I really suggest you to focus on this one alongside your contents rather than your fonts, subscribers, upvotes, or comments. I see a lot of authors using long titles, but there's a lot of authors who use short titles as well. But most importantly in this discussion is: What makes the readers interested by the titles?
Tip 01: Use the proper capitalize and spelling.
Tip 02: The title has to be somehow related to your plotline, so it'd make sense otherwise people would be confused.
Tip 03: Short titles with meanings (i.e, "Obsessive" "Black Rose" "Unbreakable Tie") would help.
Tip 04: Long titles which reveals half of plot points would also help... I think. (i.e, "Kim Jongin is My Husband?!" "Living Next-door To An Idiot." "He Made Me Fall In Love." it proves me well, after researching on the tags, stories with long titles revealing some plot points receive a lot of subs, upvotes and comments).
Tip 05: DO NOT CAPITALIZE ON ALL WORDS OF YOUR TITLE. (i.e, I'M MARRIED TO BYUN BAEKHYUN?!!). Do not even write your title without the right capitalizing form. (i.e, a bunch of love for my unicorn princey.)
Tip 06: Obviously, dOnT wRiTe TiTlE lIkE ThIs!?
Tip 07: If your story is a sequel, better not to write (_____'s sequel) besides the actual title of the story. Just use the tag 'sequel' or write them on your foreword.
Tip 08: You can use hangul, but make sure it's the right translation. But people didn't really caught up to this. (i.e, title / hangul translation).
Edit your titles if it's included in one of the tips above. Titles play an important part to gain more readers, note that. Play with words, don't use common titles, people would think that your story is cliche. I'm certain, if you're asking for reviews in reviewshops, you'll learn more than what I talked about here. They will note your mistakes, tell if your title is common, your plot is cliche, your grammar is wrong, etc.
Hope the class discussion today helps you, feel free to subscribe and comment if it helps you. Good luck with your stories! xx.
