Chapter Forty-Three

Long Time No See

Luhan kept in touch with Daniella through phone calls, text messages, and skype. They both were too busy with life that they didn't have enough time for each other. Daniella had to go into a private study room when skyping with Luhan. She wanted to see Luhan, but she had to be Daniel for soccer practice all the time.

It had been three months since Luhan had seen Daniella. “There's going to be a huge school fair with entertainment, lots of food and everything you love! Do you think you can come? I miss you” Luhan asked. Daniella felt sad that Luhan thought he hadn’t seen her for months but actually she has been next to him every single day.

“Actually my mother’s club is doing a couple of booths which I have to help out with” Daniella watched Luhan's expression turn from a smile into a frown. “We can spend time together afterwards?” Daniella suggested but Luhan continued frowning. “Luhan what do you want me to do?” Daniella was getting frustrated. “I can’t just come up every day to see you. The residence doesn’t allow me to stay overnight” Daniella looked away from her computer screen.

“I know, and I'm sorry. It's driving me crazy not having you around” Luhan confessed. Daniella smiled and looked back at her computer screen. “Summer break is coming soon, and I won’t be in school. You and I won’t be busy, we can spend summer vacation together twenty-four seven” Luhan watched as Daniella smiled back at him.

“I'd like that” Daniella blushed and pictured Luhan in swimming shorts. She then pictured the two of them together in a cottage sitting next to a fire warming up.

“Let’s travel the world, let's go everywhere” Luhan would follow Daniella anywhere around the world.

“Luhan, please find me at the fair” Daniella couldn’t wait to be herself and cling onto Luhan. She wanted to be like the girls in dramas who would be loved by someone unconditionally. Whenever Luhan was around she would feel just like that. “I want you to win me a prize okay?” Daniella smiled.

“I promise to get the best prize there!” Luhan looked at the time and knew their skype would soon end, which made him sigh. “Huh I’m going to have to go to soccer practice... it's starting in twenty minutes” Luhan said and both of them frowned. “But I will see you at the fair, we're going to meet up not matter what, okay?” Luhan smiled.

Daniella nodded “I love you Hannie” Both of them leaned into their computer screens. They pecked the computer screen and said their goodbyes. Daniella quickly changed into Daniel and joined the team on the soccer field for practice.

Luhan and Daniel partnered up for warms ups. They were passing the ball across the field while they ran. Afterwards one of them had to kick the ball into the soccer net. “Hey! I have something to talk to you about” Luhan said making Daniella stop after kicking the ball into the net.

“Oh yeah? What is it?” Daniell gave the ball back to Luhan as they walked to the other side of the field.

“Well, your sister and I have been doing really good” Luhan started off. “And I want to do something special” Luhan started to get nervous. “Do you –“ Daniella covered Luhan’s mouth.

“I’m sure that whatever you do for Daniella would be great” Daniella couldn't help but smile, she was so happy that Luhan wanted to do something special for her.

“Yeah but do you think-” Luhan was cut off by Daniella covering her ears and shouting random words.

“Don’t tell me anything, it will slip out when I talk to Daniella and then it won’t be a surprise anymore” Daniella lied. “Now let’s get back into practicing alright?” Daniella slapped the back of Luhan's shoulder and started to run with the ball.

Luhan followed right behind. ‘I don’t understand why Daniel keeps ignoring or dodging any conversation that involves his sister’ Luhan shook his head.

After practice, Luhan went out to get a present for Daniella. He wanted everyone to know that Daniella was his girl even when they we're far away from each other. Luhan thought about the many times Daniella wasn't by his side. He wanted to protect her from the guys hitting on her and make sure her past boyfriends wouldn't stick around.

When it finally came to the school fair, Luhan walked around looking for Daniella and the booth she was helping out at for her mother’s club. Luhan kept his hands in his pockets, one of them holding the gift he bought for her. He wanted to win a prize and give the two together while they shared her favourite deep fried food together.

Luhan didn't expect the fair to be so big, or that there would be so many booths. Luhan swore he went through the whole fair twice without finding Daniella. ‘The fair just started two hours ago maybe her mother hasn't set up the booth yet’ Luhan thought as he continued to walk down aisles of booths.

“Hey!” Kris shouted from afar. He and his girlfriend walked towards Luhan. “Where's Daniella?” Kris raised his eyebrow.

“I don't know man, I'm still trying to find her in this huge maze” Luhan was getting frustrated, however he didn’t want to give up.

“Hyung~” Tao shouted as he came running towards Kris with a bag of popcorn, cotton candy and peanuts. Kris looked annoyed, his girlfriend elbowed him. “There is a kissing booth! Can I go?” Tao said sounding like a little boy.

“Tao why don’t I take you? While Kris hangs out with his girlfriend” Luhan said and winked at Kris.

“Thanks man I owe you” Kris whispered to Luhan.

“Come on Hannie” Tao mocked as he pulled on Luhan's shirt.

“How many times do I have to tell you only Daniella gets to call me that!” Luhan was irritated, only his girl would be able to call him that.

Daniella was at the back of the booth waiting to talk to her mother. “Mom, I really don’t want to do this!” Daniella tried talking to her mother.

“Don’t be silly you have kissed many boys before. What makes this so different?” Mrs. Oh moved her attention to some papers she had to fill out. Daniella tried to get her mother’s attention but she just walked away. Daniella sighed heavily. “I hope there are no old guys out there” Daniella prayed. She stepped onto the stage where she sat down on a chair.

Someone collected the tickets, afterwards the guys would sit down. Daniella would kiss them on the lips and quickly dismiss them. The line seemed to never end as it grew bigger and bigger. The kissing booth was the hottest booth out there. “Well, well” Daniella looked up to see her ex-boyfriend Jimin standing before her.

“I am not kissing you” Daniella stated. Jimin grabbed Daniella's wrist and forced her closer to him. Daniella slapped Jimin across the face causing a scene. Luhan jumped on stage and punched Jimin again.

“You!” Jimin pointed. “You ing bastard!” Jimin shouted making everyone whisper. Jimin charged Luhan knocking them both off the stage. Jimin got on top of Luhan and started punching him senseless. Sehun pulled Jimin off of Luhan and then kicked him in the stomach.

The fight soon became uneven when Jimin's friends got involved, It got so out of hand that Daniella decided to jump on Jimin's back strangling him from behind. “Enough!” Mrs. Oh shouted making everyone freeze. “Sehun and Daniella I expected more from you too, especially for a charity event!” Mrs. Oh shook her head. The security guards arrived uselessly late. “Take these boys out of school campus” Mrs. Oh pointed.

“Mom, Luhan goes here and he's your partner Mrs. Xi's son” Daniella pointed out. Luhan was able to stay, however all three was getting a lecture from Mrs. Oh about being high class and keeping up a good image. “Mom, I didn’t want to do the kissing booth. I kept trying to tell you that I'm in a relationship” Daniella told her mother.

“Please, none of those boys are good for you especially that Jimin. Why can’t you go back to Donghae? That fine young man” Mrs. Oh blushed.

“So you don’t want me dating Mrs. Xi's son?” Daniella crossed her arms. Sehun snorted, he couldn’t believe his sister was playing that trick. “And you don’t want Sehun dating Mrs. Bae's daughter?” Daniella said and Sehun's face dropped immediately.

“Oh my Goodness” Mrs. Oh looked at Luhan. “You're dating my daughter?” Mrs. Oh asked and Luhan nodded. “Finally! My daughter has good taste in men and my son, Bae Suzy? You know she's a real lady” Mrs. Oh couldn’t believe her children were finally dating people she approved of. Mrs. Oh left the room to tell her husband the good news.

“Well, I’m going to go and find Suzy” Sehun stood up and left. Daniella couldn't help but feel uneasy. She knew Suzy was starting to show and that people were gossiping around school. Someone started a rumour that Suzy had been sleeping around with guys and that she was knocked up and didn't know who the father was. Only Suzy and Daniella knew the truth that Suzy was pregnant with Sehun's child.

Daniella felt like she was going to throw up with her nerves for the two of them. Luhan had to snap his fingers to get Daniella's attention. “Hey are you okay?” Luhan was concerned. Daniella smiled and nodded. ‘You’re lying to me’ Luhan sighed. “Please Daniella” Luhan held Daniella’s hand.

“I love you Hannie” Daniella pecked Luhan's lips.

“Don’t call me that, Tao ruined that name” Luhan pouted.

“You know I only pecked those guys’ cheeks and I refused to kiss Jimin” Daniella fondled with the rim of her shirt.

Luhan held Daniella's hand stopping her nerves. “I know, I trust you Daniella” Luhan didn’t know if he should give the gift then or later that night.

They stayed silent, Daniella's thoughts kept going back to Sehun and Suzy. “Luhan, I think I’m going to head home” Daniella kissed Luhan again before she got up.

“Come on, we haven’t seen each other in months. I saved you from your ex-boyfriend. Then your mom found out about us and she was thrilled. Why leave? Stay with me and lets have some fun. Let’s stay and watch the fireworks” Luhan stood up and held Daniella's waist.

‘Suzy has enough evidence for Sehun to believe her and she would call if there were any problems’ Daniella tried not to worry about the  other couple. Daniella felt Luhan's arms around her waist and his lips kissing her neck. “That tickles” Daniella laughed. “Okay fine” Luhan hugged Daniella and twirled her in the air. Both of them walked out of building holding hands.
