Once Upon A Valentine – final

Prompt: The bus halted abruptly and made her fell onto his collarbone which was awkward.

- From a Valentine’s story.

                The first meeting of the two of them was on Valentine’s Day and trust me it was awkward. School just ended for Yixing and he was on his way home. His bus finally came and as soon as he boarded it, he noticed this abnormally tall guy with amazing features and unconsciously stared at him. He went into a dreamy state and the other was getting fidgety under Yixing’s stare so he told Yixing to stop staring at him. Yixing’s face turned red with embarrassment and apologized profusely to the taller male and he found it cute.

To his dismay, the bus halted abruptly when he was apologizing and he ended up falling into the latter’s embrace. Not exactly but when the bus stopped, Yixing had no time to hold onto anything so he fell into the other’s broad chest which added onto his embarrassment. The tall guy had his strong hands holding onto the Yixing’s arms tightly and it was an awkward situation right there and then.

”Are you okay?” He asked, which Yixing noticed that he had a beautiful deep voice. Yixing apologized and bowed to him apologetically and the latter was frantically trying to calm him down which he then said, “Hey, I’m really fine. It’s not your fault so you don’t have to be sorry about it,” and smiled sincerely to him. Yixing felt his heartstring pull and a tinge of pink crept onto his cheeks. Once the ordeal with the bus was over, Yixing and the other guy alighted at the same stop and talked a bit more. They properly introduced each other and laughed off the awkwardness.

“I’m Chanyeol. Park Chanyeol, how about you?”

“I’m Zhang Yixing. Nice to meet you, Park Chanyeol.”

They exchanged numbers and bade each other farewell. They met up the next day and the following days after that incident. Now spending time with each other was the most natural thing to do in Yixing’s life until his friends asked him about them.

“Hey Yixing, who is that guy you always went out with?” Jongin asked pouting, pulling the older onto his lap and wrapping his arms around the waist and resting his chin on his shoulder.

“Yah! You should respect me Kim Jongin,” Yixing wriggled in the younger’s embrace and Jongin held him tighter and blew cool breathes in the crook of Yixing’s neck. Yixing cringe since he failed to escape Jongin’s grasp.

“Jongin ah, don’t bully your hyung please and Yixing, I’m also curious about that guy. Are you together or something?” Luhan, his best friend, asked him too.

Yixing almost retorted at him when Chanyeol popped into the class. He found Yixing and waved stupidly to him. Yixing waved back to him and heard his friends cooing at him. He quickly shot a glare at both of them and packed his things to go home with Chanyeol. He blushed madly when Luhan shouted at him.

“Have a good date with your boyfriend!”

Chanyeol and Yixing were talking about nonsensical subjects when Chanyeol suddenly stopped Yixing in his tracks. He turned to face Yixing and he swore he could see the giant blushing. Chanyeol rubbed his neck nervously and was stuttering his words out while trying to convey his message to Yixing.

“Erm, Y-Yixing ah…” Chanyeol started.

“Hm?” Yixing answered innocently, thinking that Chanyeol stuttering is kinda cute.

”Can I say something stupid?” He rubbed his neck again, feeling awkward.

“Go on.”

He took in an ample amount of air and let everything out like a bullet train, “Since we first met, I thought you were the most beautiful person I’ve ever met and although I think you didn’t realize, we met on Valentine’s Day too. Every time we hang out together, we got closer and I even think you were cute even if you were clumsy and a complete glutton. We shared secrets and stupid stories with each other and I would always fall in love with you every minute. I would start to miss you although we just parted and I always longed for you when we aren’t together. So what I meant to say is…”

“I love you! Will you be my Valentine?” He literally shouted his confession and Yixing had to cover the giant’s mouth in case someone passing by heard him.

Yixing blushed furiously when he heard Chanyeol’s confession and it’s true, he didn’t realize that they met on Valentine’s Day exactly one year ago and heck he was really clumsy and have a thing for food. He almost dreamt off when Chanyeol’s deep voice woke him up.

He noticed Chanyeol’s elf-like ears burning with red and eyes looking at him expectantly waiting for his answer. Now it is Yixing’s turn to awkwardly rub his neck. He is still embarrassed about the other’s confession and clumsily replied to his confession.

“Erm, y-yeah. Yeah, I would love to!”

Yixing shut his eyes tight and Chanyeol was flooding with euphoria. He instantly pulled the smaller’s into a tight hug and dove in for a kiss. The kiss was long and sweet, Yixing could feel Chanyeol’s love for him and it made him happy. That was the happiest day for the two of them. The subsequent day, Yixing’s friends noticed his change of behaviour and the air around him feels light.

“Yah. Did something good happen to you?” Luhan nudged his best friend, hoping to get an answer.

“Not telling!” He brushed it off with aegyo towards his best friend.

“Xing Xingie!” Chanyeol waved at him.

Yixing brightened when he saw his love waiting at the door and bade his friend farewell, running towards his new boyfriend. Luhan smirked when he noticed they were holding hands and was about to tease the younger who had a thing for Yixing when he saw the devil standing at the door, looking like a sad puppy who got abandoned by his owner. He got up and glance at where he was looking at. He saw Yixing and Chanyeol talking happily with Chanyeol’s arm around Yixing’s waist. Luhan pitied the younger and sighed.

“Don’t worry, you have me,” Luhan back hugged Jongin and whispered to him, causing the younger to blush.
