Being handcuffed to a Korean Idol isn't as bad as she originally thought.

“What do you think you're doing?!” Runa hissed as she yanked on her arm and forced him to lean down at her level, “Do you want to expose yourself to all these people?!”

 

“Having some fun,” he replied with a slight smirk, “Besides, you need to lighten up and get your mind off of Vinh for a moment.”

 

She stared, “That's none of your business for one! And aren't you going to get in trouble?”

 

He shrugged, “I haven't gotten in trouble just yet and come on... There's like thousands of people auditioning at the moment, so lets just slow down and enjoy the festival. But thank you for your concern about my well-being, you're such a sweet friend~”

 

For some reason, that made her blush, “... F-fine, but I'm not going to be held responsible for anything that happens to you.”

 

“I'll take full blame, but you're going to have to explain why I'm handcuffed to you,” he teased, only to get whacked on the arm, “Aigoo!”

 

“Shut up,” she hissed as he sent him a glare, “A-and... I don't know why you're doing this. I can't sing to even save my life, you can... And I don't do well with people staring at me...”

 

“Don't worry,” he reassured as he pulled her close to him and gently took her hand with his, “I'll be here...”

 

“You know Nic,” she muttered as she looked at him, “You're taking this whole handcuff thing a bit too well... It's kinda scaring me.”

 

He chuckled, “It's better than making a chaotic scene and getting us both in loads of trouble. And I also find you really interesting.”

 

Once again Runa found herself blushing as the both of them were guided up to the stage. Immediately Runa felt really uncomfortable, but out of nowhere, Nichkhun squeezed her hand gently and flashed her a reassuring smile. This action caused her to relax a bit.

 

“Thank you for participating in our little competition,” the host grinned as he stood next to the duo, “So, you guys requested a duet? Mind telling us your names and what song you will be singing?”

 

As the mic was placed near Nichkhun, the male merely laughed, “Uh... I'm Nic and this awesome and beautiful girl right next to me is my bestie in the whole wide world~”

 

“How sweet,” the host chuckled as he then turned to Runa, who was somewhat hiding her face, “Mind telling us your name, sweetie?”

 

“Go on, tell them~” Nichkhun ushered gently, causing Runa to look up at him for a moment before swallowing hard and looking at the host.

 

“H-hi... My name's R-Ru-Runa...” she finally said through the mic. There were a few people who applauded encouragingly.

 

“Okay, nice to meet you Nic and Runa,” the host greeted, “Now, tell the festival what you will be singing for us today?”

 

“I don't know any songs,” Runa suddenly whispered as she yanked Nichkhun down again, “I'm just embarrassing myself!”

 

“Don't tell me you don't watch any TV or anything?” he questioned.

 

“The only thing Korean that's in my life is my family, my food and a drama here and there... And the Korean news since my mom's always watching that,” she answered.

 

“A drama song!” he exclaimed quietly, “What have you seen?”

 

“I can't remember...”

 

“Well, think Rue... Think!”

 

“Uhm... Uhm... Invincible Lee Pyung Kang...”

 

“Obviously A Man by MC Mong and Maybee,” he grinned, causing Runa to look at him.

 

“I like that song...” she muttered, “I won't do that song justice though... You rap?”

 

“Better than nothing~ And yes, I do,” he laughed as he straightened himself up and looked at the host, who immediately placed the mic near him, “We're going to sing to you Obviously A Man by MC Mong featuring Maybee~”

 

“Oh, this has to be good~ Good song choice!” the host nodded as both Nichkhun and Runa were given microphones, “Alright, ready when you are~”

 

Oh my God, I can't believe this... Runa groaned mentally as the beginning instrumentals began to play. Looking at her handcuff buddy, she sent him an unsure look, but once again Nickhun merely smiled down at her and bobbed his head to the beat of the song.

 

And when it came down to her cue, she inhaled softly and gently sang out while looking directly at him, “Just for you~”

During his rapping session, he suddenly began to walk around the stage, dragging Runa along with him, who was practically stumbling around behind him. The audience had already began to clap along with the song when Runa had sang out the very first thing of the song. But even though she was stumbling around, Runa couldn't help but be mesmerized by Nichkhun's rapping.

 

And when it came down to her singing part, she stomped her foot down and yanked her arm back, causing Nichkhun to stumble back and immediately Runa began to sing. The audience couldn't help but laugh at this.

Rapping the English parts, Nichkhun grabbed Runa's cuffed hand and brought it close to his chest while he rapped to her. This caused Runa to look at him, her eyes widening just a bit as she blushed and suddenly smiled. When he went back to rapping in Korean, she quickly looked away but continued to smile.

For most of the song, both Runa and Nichkhun basically walked together around the stage, singing or rapping out their parts and every now and then, Nichkhun would do these silly hand gestures and make himself look all gangster like. Off the side, Runa would laugh at this, while the audience—which grew and continued to grow—cheered and clapped with the song.

 

Nichkhun: Na ran nam ja

It was at this part that he stopped his rapping and began to actually sing out the lyrics while pulling Runa close to him. He then made the both of them to sway along with the beat, Runa rolling her eyes but allowed herself to sway with him.

 

Before he got to his final part, Nichkhun managed to have Runa look at him, the both of them staring at one another as he began the speaking and final part of the song, “Sa rang eur bi wo bwa... Na ran nam jae kke...”

 

During the fading instrumental, Nichkhun leaned down and gently placed his forehead against hers, causing the audience to go wild. Of course, Runa couldn't help but smile and suddenly laugh while he embraced her with his free arm and pulled her close.

 

Hiding within the crowd, a rather familiar figure stood, his arms crossed as he titled his head slightly at the duo. He merely shook his head, a light smile on his face as he turned around and instantly disappeared into the crowd.

 

Soon the host came up to the stage, along with a few other people and immediately went to greet the duo, who were still in each others embrace, “Wow, I have to say, that was a wonderful performance! You two sounded so perfect together~”

 

Runa was the first one to pull away slightly, however still had Nichkhun holding her close to him. She then lifted her free hand, which had the mic she was using and brought it close to her, “T-thank you... That was actually a lot of fun.”

 

“Is this your first time on stage?” a woman suddenly questioned as she stood next to Runa.

 

“Yeah, it is actually,” she admitted with an awkward grin, causing a few others to laugh gently.

 

“How about you Nic?” the host asked as he stood next to Nichkhun, “Though, you give me that vibe that you've been on stage before... And you know, you sound really familiar too.”

 

“Really?” Nickhun questioned, acting stupid, “I admit that I've been on a few stages before... And you're not the first whose said I sound familiar. I get that a lot actually.”

 

Again, everyone laughed as they clapped and cheered. It was then that the woman began to speak, “Have any of you thought about doing this professionally?”

 

“Erm...” Runa paused and blinked, “N-no actually...”

 

“Really? You should think about it,” the woman laughed, “Actually, they're holding auditions—”

 

“Oh crap! The auditions! I totally forgot!” Runa suddenly shouted as she shoved the mic at the lady, who jumped at the abrupt action. Nichkhun merely blinked as he too handed the host his mic and found himself being dragged off the stage, which left a really dumbfounded crowd of people.

 

As if the world was going to end, Runa and Nichkhun practically bolted for the audition area. There was a huge crowd full of people, waiting for their numbers to be announced. But just when Runa was about to get inside, a security guard instantly stopped her.

 

“Hey! I need to get in there!” she shouted, but the guard merely shook his head.

 

“I'm sorry ma'am but—” however the guard was interrupted when Nichkhun stepped up.

 

“Let her in, she's with me,” he announced. The guard merely stared at Nichkhun, who rolled his eyes behind his sunglasses. He then removed his glasses and the beanie before sending the guard a look, “You going to let us through?”

 

“Oh, sorry,” the guard apologized as he stepped aside. Runa stopped for a moment, turning to Nichkhun... A grateful smile on her lips.

 

“You really are an awesome person, you know that?” she muttered.

 

He smiled back and attempted to ignore the light feeling in his heart when she smiled at him, “Awww, come on! We need to get inside~”

 

Runa nodded as she dragged him inside but then Nichkhun walked ahead and guided her to the back room before they found themselves at the auditioning area. They were suddenly greeted by loud music, Runa's eyes landing on her ex boyfriend who was currently on a stage with four other boys as they danced to SHINee's Lucifer (but Runa wouldn't really know that). He was currently in the front, rapping out with his deep voice before he jumped back and another boy went up to rap.

 

She merely stood there, this emotionless expression on her pretty face as the boys were ordered to stop and take a quick break. Once the boys high fived one another, Vinh instantly looked up and saw Runa standing there. However before he noticed her, Nichkhun quickly hid behind the red curtain that was behind her. With a sigh, Vinh merely rolled his eyes as she was about to leave, but Runa called out to him.

 

“Vinh, please!” she shouted loudly, ignoring the stares she was receiving, “Please... Talk to me at least... Just give me something, anything! And... And I'll leave you alone!”

 

Runa watched as one of the boys who was up on stage with him say something to him before he nodded and walked up to her, this slightly angry look on his face.

 

“Runa, just stop it,” he told her lowly when he stood in front of her, “Give it up, let it go. I'm tired okay?!”

 

“Vinh...” she sniffled as tears began to form in the corner of her eyes, “I just want to know why... Before you were my boyfriend, you were also one of my good friends and it really hurts that you're trying to avoid me without giving me a reason... I love you, Vinh... So much.”

 

He shook his head and quickly ran his hands through his sweaty head, “I was angry at myself, alright? Hurting you and treating you like my prior relationships. You know how I am Rue... I'm a flirt, hell... I'm a qualified player! I can't live without having ten different girlfriends every week. But, you're special girl to me Runa... You've been my best friend since I can remember and you were always there for me. And it killed me to see you angry and hurt whenever I looked at another girl and openly flirted with them....”

 

“Vinh...” she muttered as her tears fell from her eyes. The boy then shook his head once more, a small smile appearing on his lips as he moved closer and wiped away some tears.

 

“Runa Choi, you deserved a much better person,” he whispered as he placed his hand on her cheek, “I'll always love you and be there if you need me, but I can't be that special person. Give your heart to someone who'll cherish it more than I did...”

 

Although she was sobbing, Runa nodded slowly as Vinh leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. Soon after, he turned away and returned to the other group of boys, who were casually talking. Runa continued to sob quietly, her head down as she sniffled. Out of nowhere, Nichkhun gently pulled on their handcuffed wrists, causing Runa to turn around and stand in front of him. Instantly, she found herself in his embrace, where she cried loudly in his chest.

 

“You going to be alright?” he questioned when she finally calmed down and pulled away. The girl sniffled, but nodded anyway.

 

“Yeah,” she muttered as she began to wipe her puffy eyes, “I'm sorry that you had to listen to that...”

 

“It's okay,” he reassured as he gently wiped a few extra tears that escaped from her eyes, “You're a very strong person, you know that right?”

 

“No I'm not,” she laughed sarcastically, “I didn't want him to see me cry, but I cried anyway... I'm weak...”

 

“You're not weak Rue,” he spoke as he left his hand on her cheek, “If anything, you're genuine... If you love a person, you'll love that person forever and you're willing to do anything for them. I've never seen a girl so determined to save her own relationship that she'll follow her loved one to some unknown place, even though there was that chance that he'd reject her in the end.”

 

“Ha... Others would find my actions creepy... And stalkerish material.”

 

“But I'm not like others,” he corrected. Looking up at him, Runa couldn't help but just stare. Nichkhun had been in disguise for most of the day so she never really had the chance to really look at him. And she had to admit, he was pretty hot.

 

“Yeah... You're right,” she smiled as he leaned forward and place his forehead against hers once again, “You're definitely not like others... You're too smiley to be like others.”

 

“Being happy a lot isn't exactly a bad thing,” he laughed.

 

“Being happy isn't, but being way too smiley can be really creepy~” she countered as she stuck out her tongue at him. Out of nowhere, he suddenly part his lips and clamped them on her tongue, causing her to gasp and pull away.

 

“Now, that my dear bestie, is creepy,” he finished with a victory smile.

 

“You just indirectly kissed me!” she babbled, her eyes wide and her cheeks red, “Or is that a kiss?”

 

“Runa, that isn't a kiss...” he frowned as he pulled her back and pulled her close to him as humanly possible, “This... Is a kiss.”

 

“Huh?” she blinked and before she knew it, she found herself in a lip lock with her handcuff buddy. Although very shocked, she found herself practically melting as her eyes slowly closed as she parted her lips just a bit; however, he took this opportunity to slide his tongue inside and transform the innocent kiss into something deeper.

 

Eventually, the duo pulled away, but Runa was left breathless, “Oh wow... Do all idols know how to kiss like that?”

 

“I wouldn't know,” he answered slowly and slightly confused as to why she would ask him that kind of question.

 

“Ehehe,” she blushed as she looked at their cuffed hands, “You know what...”

 

“Hmmm?” he questioned as he watched the girl pull out a bobby pin from her hair and after some twisting and digging, Nichkhun found himself released from the cuffs, “Wait, you knew how to do that this entire time?”

 

“Yeah, I always played with these handcuffs as a child and I sometimes got stuck, so I managed to figure out how to get out of them by using a bobby pin~” she replied as she removed the cuffs from her own wrist and placed them back in her bag, “Nifty trick isn't it?”

 

He rose a brow at her, “Why didn't you do this earlier?”

 

She blinked, “You know, I was so engrossed about that fact that I had a Korean Idol handcuffed to me and about my issue with Vinh, I totally forgot!”

 

“...” he frowned, “No, you just wanted me to hang around with you because you knew that I am a Korean Idol.”

 

“Is there something wrong with that?” she questioned with a playful smile, “Be happy, you probably have another potential fan... But that's if I like your music.”

 

“Oh you will, I'll make you like my music,” he smirked as he wrapped both his arms around her waist.

 

“We'll see about that~” she challenged as she laughed.

 

“I have the rest of this day all to myself,” he informed her, “Handcuffs or not, you're going to be stuck with me for a good amount of time.”

 

“Is this your weird way of asking me out on a date?”

 

“Maaaaaaybe~”

 

“Okay fine... Just because I find you good looking...”

 

“I knew you'd see it my way~” he grinned before pulling her into another kiss, which Runa was more than happy to return.

“Huh, these Asian music festivals aren't as bad as I thought~” Soo Min giggled as she turned to her side and laughed, “So, who are you guys again?”

 

“Super Junior!” the large group answered and posed for her.

 

“Yeah, I think I'm going to like this~” she smiled as she ushered all over them to her and cameras began to flash.
