Thinking About Her

No One’s POV:
“I’m confessing.”
Sungyeol stared at L, wide-eyed. “What?”
“I’m confessing,” L said again. “Today.”
“Are you serious?”
L nodded, staring off into the distance as he said, “I can’t hold it in anymore. I need to make her mine.”
“But dude you can’t just ask her to be your girlfriend from out of the blue. Plus, she’s Sungjong right now. How weird would that be? It needs to be special.”
L thought about it. “I want to take her out on a casual date.”
“Casual date?”
“Yeah. Like, bring her to my house or something. Just sit on the couch and watch a movie, eat popcorn. Joke around, play board games. Play with my dog.” L absentmindedly smiled to himself. “That’d be nice.”
“Well then do it. No one’s stopping you. Do it after finals end,” Sungyeol suggested.
“But I just can’t wait,” L groaned.
“You’re gonna have to. Finals continue till Friday,” Sungyeol said.
“Ay Yeol-ah, remember those weekend parties that you used to throw back in freshman year?” L asked.
“Yeah. Those ones when my parents wouldn’t be home? God I was a rebel back then.” Sungyeol cringed at the memories.
“You should throw one this weekend,” L said.
“Why should I?”
“So that you can invite _______ and all of us would be in the same place. I could take her on a walk along the golf course behind your house. They always have pretty lights there at night,” L said.
“Wow you’re talking an awful lot today,” Sungyeol remarked. “Using me as your middle ground, I see.”
“Hyung.”
Sungyeol sighed. “Alright. It’s the weekend so my parents will probably be out anyways. I’ll invite everybody and you can have your little fairytale ending. But mind you that I’m only doing this for ______ and because I care about her. Araso?”
L smiled and hugged Sungyeol in response. “Thanks hyung!”
“Ew god, get off of me.” Sungyeol pried L off of him. L was smiling like an idiot and Sungyeol couldn’t help but laugh a little bit. “If I didn’t care about her so much I wouldn’t be letting you steal her away from me like this.”
“I know, hyung.”
“And if you make her cry you know that I won’t be hesitating to punch you, right?”
L laughed and nodded. “Of course.”
One morning L had actually woken up before any of the members did. He went over to go grab his clothes and shower when he noticed your phone lying beside your bed. Out of curiosity, he took a peek at your cell phone wallpaper. To his disgust, your wallpaper was still the picture of you and L. Joe at the Christmas Banquet.
“You’re so stupid,” L said to himself as he put your phone back down. “Carelessly leaving proof of your true identity. No wonder so many members know.”
L went to go take a shower, the whole time planning out how he should confess to you. He’s never thought about something so thoroughly and meaningfully before, even when he was in love with Woori.
Woori? L thought to himself. I haven’t thought about her in forever.
L then wondered what he’d even saw in her in the first place. She wasn’t nearly as pretty as you, nor did she care about him as much as you did. If anything, she’d made his self esteem reach an all time low, even to the extent of wanting to change his name for her.
After showering L came back to the dorm to be brightly greeted by you.
“L hyung!” you said cheerfully, brightening him up with just the sound of your voice. “Everyone wants donuts. Want to go get some with me?”
L grinned. “Of course, Sungjong-ah.”
“Wow what’s up with Myungsoo lately?” Dongwoo asked. “He’s been smiling AND waking up early?”
Sungyeol and Hoya eyed each other with matching smirks. Woohyun looked away, already knowing the reason why.
“Hurry up I’m hungry,” Sunggyu whined.
You and L skipped down to the local donut shop across the school. It was a sunny day, and the mood seemed quite bright.
While you were ordering L couldn’t help but look over at you with a small smile on his face. He couldn’t wait until Saturday. Plus Sungyeol’s parties were always the best. It was going to be nice to chill back with the guys like old times and confess to a girl that he liked as well.
You noticed L staring at you and looked back at him. “Hyung, do you want glazed?”
L snapped out of it. “What?”
“Glazed or sprinkles?” you asked.
“Glazed,” L replied. “Or whatever you’re getting.”
You grinned. “I’m getting glazed too.” You turned to the cashier. “And two glazed donuts please.”
L and you each carried a box of donuts as you both casually walked back to the school. The Infinite Boys dug into the box of sweet donuts and chatted before the bell rang for school. Life was good.
For the time being.
