Reminiscence
I started the engine right after I buckled HaeSeok's seat belt. This morning, we have the same routine as usual. I'm going to drive him to the day-care center. Though it's always been this way, I never heard HaeSeok complaining about it. I did ask him once if he's bored already being in the day-care center for the whole day. He said he wasn't bored at all and he understood why he can't be with me during my work hours.
"I'll be back later, HaeSeok-ah." I told him when I walked him to the door of the day-care center. "I'll try to be out as early as possible so we could go to the mall. Yay!"
HaeSeok was jumping with a big smile on his face. "Thank you, Mama."
"But I won't promise, okay? Mama will try."
"Yes, Mama." He said. I kissed him on the forehead, the same moment another car arrived and halted to a stop beside mine. Our attention was suddenly focused on the newly arrived guest. The driver's door opened and a man went out of it. I didn't know him but my son seemed like he knew him. "Uncle Luhan!"
Luhan guy smiled and waved. To my surprise, HaeSeok ran to greet him. "Hello, little fellow. How's your morning?" He asked as he ruffled my son's hair. I can't help but watch him adoringly messing my son's hair like that.
"My morning's great!" HaeSeok exclaimed. Then he dragged the man to me and I stepped back subconsciously. "Mama, this is uncle Luhan. Uncle, this is my mama."
I awkwardly smile and stretched my hand. "Good morning, Mr..." I trailed off, unsure what to address him.
"Oh, just call me Luhan. Just my name and I'll be fine." He said as he gripped my hand firmly for a handshake.
I couldn't stop the smile from appearing on my face. "My name's Haekyung."
"Haekyung... Nice name." He smiled even warmly at me I felt my heart melted for a second. I shyly looked away for a moment, managing to choke out a 'thanks' from my throat at the same time.
As if I remembered I was already late, I flinched. "Oh, I'm sorry but I have to go." I said, pulling out my hand from his grip. I only realized he was holding my hand for long.
"Oh, yeah." He smiled sheepishly as if he had done something crazy or something. "Take care then. I mean, drive safely."
I smiled once again. "Thanks." I looked at my son and found him smiling. Oh stop. "Bye, HaeSeok-ah. I'll be back later."
"Bye, mama." He waved goodbye. As I drove off, I looked at them through my rearview mirrow and saw Luhan holding out HaeSeok's hand. I found myself smiling, somehow. Oh God.
“Is there a chance for me to date you?" Mr Choi, that one guy who seemed really interested in me, asked. Saem should've been in my place right now but the freaking woman decided to leave for work today. I ended up attending him as his physiotherapist because he kind of requested it. Unfortunately for me, I'm not busy and who am I to decline the request of our client?
