A Heart In The Sand

Jessica's POV
I walked along the beach, my body now bronzed from the sun. Taeyeon treaded beside me, staring intently at each spec of sand that she left her footprint in. She seemed quite serious; far too serious.
“What’s the matter, Taengoo? What’s on your mind?” She looked to the ocean, and I wished I could hear her thoughts as I could hear the waves crash into the sand at my feet. I opened my mouth to ask another question, but she spoke quickly, in a low voice. “Ehm, have you ever been in love? Like, for real?” I thought about it for a while, and we walked in silence. The moon would soon replace the sun, and we’d have to be heading home.
“Yeah, I have been in love.” She smiled too soon, excitement growing, and then dying just as fast. “What does it feel like?” I sort of lost my breath. I remembered Tiffany. Pictures flashed across my mind. When we danced, and held hands, when she smiled, when we laughed and when we sang together. I shook the thought.
“It’s like summer, every day. It’s like dancing with the moon, and even better than shooting stars. It’s like the reddest apple in the tree, or the most resilient little daisy in the dirt. Love is taking a walk, and kicking the same pebble along with you for a mile, and you don’t even realize that it’s autumn because your eyes are trained on her eyes, and her lips, and her hair. Love is everything, and nothing. It’s something, and anything. Love is wearing your pajamas and drinking
