Every night. Every night you come to bed with me, yet every night I know it is only a matter of time. A matter of time before you slip away to indulge in your addiction. You cuddle into my body, you tell me you love me in our own special language you positively purr when my hand your back. But no matter the love and devotion for me that I see shining in your eyes, no matter your words or how you crave for my touch, we both know that you'll sneak away in the middle of the night to partake in that one, terrible obsession. No matter that I will fall asleep holding you in my arms, I always know that I will wake in the middle of the night... Cold, lonely, abandoned. And yet every night when you return, I can smell it on you. That addiction,  that forbidden taste that you can't get enough of, despite all I give you. I put up with it, though, because I know you'll come back. Because I know that every CAT craves dog food.
