Foreword

a/n: entry for  sky is the limit. cards will be revealed at the end of the story, and omg, i got a pairing card, im just going to go cry in the corner, brb.

and let the actually author's note begin.

[ 10/25/13: ] i didn't think i would find inspiration to write this, i was going to drop out, i don't know what overcame me to continue writing this, i don't know why i didn't write at this more, i just don't know, but as i continued to write, as i continued to think about the characters, think about yuri and tao, how these people we believe are perfect, they're all hiding something, whether it be something as simple as drinking or dancing like a maniac, they're all hiding and maybe it's because i decided to write more about the surrounding characters, how tao and yuri have a secret language as they speak, it got me thinking.

it got me thinking that we're all hiding something from someone, we all are, whether it be our first detention or falling in love or being around someone we shouldn't be, we're all hiding, we're all in our masquerade pretending to be someone we're not. and sooner or later, someone will find out. i'm not saying it's going to be someone you loved, it might be a complete stranger who knows exactly what you're going through.

just because we want a love story, we don't need one, just because we danced in the dark for so long, we can't let others find us. because if we didn't, who would ever catch the fireflies? you have your guard up so high, we can't get over it, you, yourself as well. and i'm not very smart, but stop hiding, let the colors show because not everyone is wearing a mask, and not everyone is going to love the mask. you have a color all your own, time to stop hiding.
