Boredom

Unexpected encounter

Mir took another deep breath in and let out a loud and long sigh. He was bored. And as far as he could remember, he’d never felt that bored in his life. He glanced at his watch for the hundredth time. Of course, only two minutes had elapsed since the last time he checked. He whined desperately and laid his forehead on the table. He remembered that he read somewhere that animals would hurt themselves out of boredom… well, now he could relate. At least, he supposed chewing on his wrists would keep him busy! Just why did he agree to let his flat to Cheondung for his date? In the name of friendship? Screw this, friendship had led him here, alone in a café at an unearthly hour of the night. And soon, he’d be kicked outside in the cold because this place would close in like thirty minutes! He didn’t even have time to grab a book before he left his flat, hardly managing to take a jacket before he was thrown out by his best friend. Mir pouted. He was about to let out another long and painful sigh when he suddenly felt someone sitting across from him at his table.

“You’re here, baby! I was so worried! You should have told me you’d be here!”

Mir jolted his head up and straightened up on his seat to take a look at the person in front of him. He gasped in confusion and looked around him. Maybe the guy was mistaking him for somebody else or just talking to someone behind him. But the café was hopelessly empty. Mir furrowed his eyebrows unconsciously. This was weird!

“You must have waited here for hours, babe! I’m sorry, I should have known you’d be here!”

Mir looked more carefully at the man sat in front of him. He was handsome to say the least, because really, he looked like a model. He had an expectant smile on his lips as he was eying at Mir with a bit of distress, or was it pleading?

“I-I…” Mir stuttered miserably. He wanted to protest and tell the man he was mistaking him for somebody else when he saw a bit further, in the corner of his right eye, a girl peeking at them with her arms crossed over her chest.

The man suddenly settled his hand above Mir’s which was o the table. The gesture startled Mir. This was really weird! A guy was calling him babe and holding his hand! Okay the dude was hot but, come on, this was beyond creepy… but at least he was entertained now.

Mir tried to slip his hand out from the apparently older man, but the latter tightened his grip on it, his smile contracting slightly.

“Excuse-me…” Mir started a bit embarrassed as now, both hi cheeks seemed to be on fire.

“Excuse you?!” he got interrupted by the other, “No, I should be the one to apologise for making you wait for so long!”

Mir’s eyes widened. What was the deal here, exactly?! He breathed evenly through his nose several, trying to convince himself to calm down. He narrowed his eyes at the elder, then, he gestured for the man to lean down toward him, immediately doing so himself when he saw the elder obey. Mir leaned closer and closer until his mouth was at the elder’s ear as he smirked. From afar, it looked like he was whispering sweetly to his boyfriend.

“Is it this girl over there, the problem? What am I supposed to do?” He whispered, carefully keeping a sweet smile on his face.

The elder could feel his hot breath against his skin and his body shivered in delight. He thanked his good star that put this cute boy on his way.

“My sister tricked me to a blind date with her! Please, act as if we were together. I told her I was supposed to meet my boyfriend here now!”

This time, Mir couldn’t suppress a chuckle to escape his lips as he leant back in his seat. How ridiculous!

“Can’t you just tell her, you don’t want to date her?” Mir inquired, speaking softly so that his voice wouldn’t be heard from where the girl was standing.

The elder smiled back. This boy’s smile was contagious, he thought as he couldn’t help but admire the younger’s plump lips.

“I would, but she won’t listen to me.” The elder revealed, lowering his head in a faked shame.

Mir shook his head and said:

“By the way, I’m Mir.”

The elder smiled and nodded before he introduced himself:

“And I’m Joon. Sorry to bother you.”

“Nice to meet you, Joon.” Mir giggled softly as his free hand started to play nervously with his empty mug on the table.

“Do you want another drink?” Joon asked, as he just noticed the younger’s empty mug.

Mir smiled a little and shook his head: “No, this place will close soon anyway.”

Joon nodded and looked at the girl at the other end of the café. He smirked to himself.

Mir couldn’t deny he was somehow grateful that he met Joon. He was so bored he thought he could have died and now, as they were talking, time seemed to pass so quickly! He learned more about the elder. He was indeed a model occasionally to make the ends meet by the end of the months but truthfully, he was working as a touristic guide in Kyongbokkung. Joon was interesting. He knew a lot of stuff and his way of talking was almost mesmerizing. He was so vivid and easy-going. Mir almost had a permanent smile on his lips as he was listening to the other speaking. Joon had a beautiful smile and his personality was colourful. Mir couldn’t help but look up to the man. He was both handsome and funny. He was happy he met such a nice guy.

On the other hand, Mir was just like Joon expected him to be. Unexpectedly shy at first and then very outgoing. He would just marvel at the younger’s smiling face. You could see that Mir was a very sensitive person. He was a good listener and was straightforward. He surprised Joon countless time with his unabashed honesty.  Mir was really unique. He felt like you could never get bored in his company. And the boy, with his messy long bangs surrounding his adorable face, was very attractive, so much he couldn’t deny.

They were chatting happily, Joon tenderly Mir’s hand when the younger suddenly gasped. Joon instantly looked at what seemed to startle Mir so much and smirked to himself, thinking he was caught!

The girl sat up, and for a second Mir thought she would come to speak to them, but the woman just gathered her belongings and calmly walked out of the soon closing café, not even sparing one look at Joon.  He looked at Joon dumbstruck and, seeing the victorious but somewhat guilty smile on the other’s face, he slowly began to understand.

“Oh, my!” He smiled, faking annoyance. “I can’t believe you got me!”

Joon burst out laughing and eyed Mir from under his eyelashes, pleading silently the younger not to be angry at him.

“She’s not you’re blind date! You don’t even know her!” Mir sighed, annoyed at his own naivety. Joon’s laugh intensified as he saw the younger’s cheek turn a dark shade of crimson out of shame.

Mir shook his head, annoyed at the elder’s childishness and threw his paper tissue at him.

“You, little piece of…” he prevented himself from saying any other thing and laughed along with Joon who was already crying, unable to suppress his laugh anymore.

Mir sat up and began to put his jacket on which made Joon snap out of his fun:

“Where are you going?” He asked with puppy eyes, his lips shaped in a slight pout.

Mir scoffed and replied: “Home. This place is closing and I think you already had too much fun tonight. T’was a pleasure to meet you, Joon. Let’s not meet again!”

He didn’t know why he felt so angry against the elder. This was a simple prank and honestly, it was funny because, yeah, it was daring and cheeky and it just fuelled Mir with another reason to like Joon. So why was he so flustered? Sure, he’d been fooled but, he couldn’t say he didn’t appreciate the time they’d spent together. But something in Joon’s laugh had grazed his pride. Maybe because he had taken a liking to the boy immediately.

“No, please!” Joon pleaded, his voice surprisingly sounding more desperate than intended as he’d gripped at Mir’s forearm to prevent him from walking away.

He leant his head aside and bit on his lower lip.

“I’m sorry, okay?”

Joon looked very upset and it was now Mir’s turn to enjoy the situation.

“It’s just… I saw you from outside and I thought… you are very attractive and I just wanted to get the chance to know you… I’m sorry I made this up.”

Mir tried his best to keep a stern face, but Joon was so cute right now, embarrassedly staring at the ground, his voice almost tearing. He smiled and laced his arm around the elder’s and said:

“Gotcha! Now let’s just leave because this place is closing!”

Joon couldn’t believe the younger had tricked him. And he liked him already so much that he didn’t even think it was a prank and had run for it. He sighed and smiled, somehow relieved.

He let Mir guide him out of the café, blushing slightly at the sensation of his warm body close to his.

One ce they were out, Mir untangled his arm from Joon’s and said a bit embarrassed:

“Well, I suppose it’s time to say goodbye!”

Joon panicked a little. He couldn’t let go of the sweet boy in front of him. So he just blurted out the first sentence that came to his mind:

“Why don’t you come to my place?”

He mentally face palmed when he realised he’d just implicitly invited the younger in his bed. Now, Mir would certainly think he was disgusting.

Mir frowned, feeling his previous anger rushing back to him:

“Just who do think I am, exactly?”

Joon was at loss. The situation was getting worse by the second, he had to clear this misunderstanding and quick!

“Do I look like such an easy lay to you?” Mir went on.

Joon shook his head desperately. Why so aggressive?! He just wanted to spend more time with him! Of course he wouldn’t mind sleeping with him, even the contrary, he’d really enjoy it but that just wasn’t his intentions in the beginning!

“If I thought you were such an easy lay, do you think I would have bothered to make this whole story up with this girl?”

He was himself surprised at his cocky answer. It just came out so naturally. He thought Mir would definitely hate him now and think of him as a prick. But, unexpectedly, he saw a mile stretch Mir’s lips and heard his small chuckle.

“You… Joon, has anyone ever told you what an insolent, vain and stupid man you are?”

Joon slightly grimaced at the adjectives… obviously, he didn’t leave the best of impressions on him. Just as he was about to apologise, he felt a pair of hands tug at his collar and pulled him forward and his mouth collided on a pair of sweet lips. His eyes closed instantly and his lips began to move, responding willingly to the younger’s. He soon couldn’t take anymore teasing so he took advantage of Mir’s slightly parted lips to slide in his tongue, somehow forcing the younger to give him access. Mir moaned in appreciation as the kiss became more sloppy as their tongues were greedily tasting each other.  Mir was surprised at his own daring. He wasn’t that kind of person, it really wasn’t like him to kiss an almost total stranger on the street. But Joon had something almost irresistible. He was like a magnet to him and Mir just wished he could drown in him. Joon’s arms had s around Mir’s thin waist and he kept on pressing him against his own body as if he wanted to melt in him. And really, he’d never felt more aroused than now. This kiss was driving him mad. Mir’s lips were addictive and he just wanted to taste them longer. But he couldn’t help but want to taste more of him. He didn’t only want his lips, he wanted his whole body. He wanted to taste every single inch of skin of the younger. His eagerness was almost aggressive now as his kisses had become greedier. And the soft moans and whimpers he elicited from Mir were just intoxicating.

He parted his mouth from Mir’s, out of breath and already incredibly . He leaned further and Mir’s ear lob, causing a shiver to run down the younger’s spine:

“I want you.” He whispered huskily, making the blush on Mir’s cheek darken. “Please, come to my place.”

Mir was almost speechless, he was burning with desire already. He just couldn’t deny the elder. And Cheondung had still not contacted him to tell him he could go back home, so really, it was a case of emergency, he needed a place to stay at. And Joon was just his sweet reward for being so patient. He nodded the crook of Joon’s neck and laced his arms around Joon’s neck, pressing a soft kiss on his lips before he them enticingly:

“I hope you live close from here.”

Joon smiled happily, suddenly feeling shy due to the younger’s y demeanour. He caressed the small of Mir’s back and they untangled from each other, staring intently at one another, their breath short.

Joon took a hold of Mir’s hand and started to lead the way toward his place, thinking he didn’t regret any of the things that happened that night. Mir was an unexpected and beautiful encounter.

Here it is! My JooMi one shot! I hope you liked it. I know it’s anecdotal but I thought, hey, this is a oneshot, it’s just really hard to make a whole story out of it.

whoaaa, you got me too.^^
in the beginning, I feel pity for the girl, who supposed to be Joon's 'blind date'. Think about it, I pitied every girl that compared to Mir (including myself) .
Later when I found out that she's totally stranger, I can't help but laugh hard and pitied her more.
Well, I think Joon (or you) should be praised for thinking such a scheme to hit on Mir.
It's gorgeous, thank you for the story, I love it a lot! ^^
