The Vast Pit of Doom for Romance (VDPR)

Description

Yoseop sighed again as he watched the girl of his dreams smile into another man's apporach. If he could only be more than her best friend, he would do anything- but alas, he was stuck... in the FRIENDZONE. The Friendzone, also known as the vast pit of doom for romance (he nicknamed it the VPDR), was awful- he had been stuck in it for years. as soon as she met him, she had stuck that horrifying label on him. Horrifying, and infuriating- but there was nothing he could do to change it. Believe it or not, he had tried, and had tried multiple desperate attempts, but none had worked out. It always ended with her laughing it off as a joke, or not quite getting where he was trying to get to. He was just too awkward in the arts of flirting.

"Yoseop!" A bright, happy grin immediately formed in the poor, unwilling victim's face. He couldn't help it- the smile automatically appeared when he heard her voice. It was what made his day- and although it was cliche, it was true. One sided love tended to be that way.

"Hey." He glanced around to find the boy gone. Good, he thought. That boy was starting to irritate him. "How's everything going?"

"Yoseop, you won't believe what just happened!" Yoseop grimanced inwardly. he could guess what was about to come- he was always right- "I just got asked out on a date!" Why was he ALWAYS right?! He hated himself for that. That, and the fact that knowing didn't lessen the pain that came with his smile.

"That's great!" He forced a grin. He was getting good at that- he didn't want to risk his friendship by letting her know how he felt. Perhaps that was why his flirting attempts always failed... He shook his head slightly, and mocked exasperation. "Now, if you'll actually achieve getting PAST that stage..." No, no, please don't get past that stage. Just seeing you smile at another boy makes my heart ache. I wish you'd smile only for me. She laughed, making his heart ache for something he couldn't achieve more than before. Please, laugh like that just for me...  But the girl of his dreams only continued laughing delightfully, ignorant of his pain, ignorant of the sadness seeping out, pleading her silently. Why can't I be the one for you?

"But here's the thing-" Her eyes began to twinkle. He loved it when she did that- he'd feel alive when she did so, and he'd be able to imagine the impossible. That she'd be his, and that her eyes would only look at him. "I..." she paused dramatically, and what she said pained his heart more than he imagined. "There's a good chance that he'll officially ask me out tonight." pain. pain. pain.

"W-what?" He stuttered a bit, surprised and hurt. "but, but this is your first date! It's not possible that he'd want to date you on the first date-"

"Yoseop, that's not it." she smiled dreamily. "We've actually been seeing each other for a bit. We never went out on dates, like, date dates, but... we're in the same club afterschool. you know, the new one I just got in?" The one he couldn't sign up for, because he had failed  his test before. "Well, we met there... and.." He was no longer listening. He could hear her talk, hear her smile and laugh, but he couldn't hear her anymore. Why is this happening?

"Sooooo.." She grinned again, and Yoseop snapped back into attention and heard the last bit. Why did he have to hear the last bit? Why? "I guess he'll be my first boyfriend."

With that, all he could do was smile an inch and lie about having to go to the bathroom. But all along the way, all he could think was this: Am i not good enough for you?

Foreword

Hi. I'm new on asianfanfics and I thought, cool! I'll write a story about Yoseop and a imaginary girl who I have no idea who to ship with, but yeah. i don't know whether or not to keep writing or not. yeah, i get that it's the description, but I didn't want to go through the hassle of adding another chapter.

So, let's just say this is my way of saying hello.

...Hi?

okay, bye!
