Yixing smiled as he felt the curious stare of his boyfriend behind him while he healed up a young child’s sprained ankle. A white glow emanated from his hands as the crying boy stopped wailing enough to bring it down to sniffles and watch the mystery of Yixing’s abilities work on his slowly healing ankle. Yixing lightly hummed a short tune as the muscles started to stitch itself back together right under his hands. He heard a light gust of air leave his boyfriend’s mouth, knowing he always became entranced with his abilities.   After another few short minutes, he smiled proudly, looking down and gently touching his finished work, “Do you feel better now, little one?”   The little boy sniffed away his runny nose and wiped his tears away with his sleeve before nodding and smiling brightly at the healer, “I do, Xingie! Thank you!”   Yixing smiled brightly back at him as he felt a hand gently touching his upper back. He tilted his head up to see Luhan bending over and resting a hand on his knee as he slightly crouched, “Be careful next time. Okay, little one?”   Looking up with wide, innocent eyes, the boy smiled brightly again and nodded his head in understanding, “I will, Prince Lulu!” He giggled when Luhan used his power to gently lift the boy up from the ground so he could stand up again, “Thank you!”   Yixing and Luhan laughed as the boy gave them both hugs before running off towards his friends again. They smiled as they looked at each other before walking off towards their training grounds just inside the castle itself.   “I don’t get why I have to keep training if I’m already good enough,” Luhan complained, wrapping an arm around Yixing’s waist to lean his weight on him, “And I’m a prince too! Shouldn’t princes not work or something like that?”   The other laughed, easily wrapping an arm around the prince’s shoulders as he gently tilted his head against the other’s temple, “The queen believes your power is still growing.”   “Yeah, well,” the elder pouted, moving away to look at his boyfriend in the eyes, “She doesn’t know anything about my power.”   “Simply because she’s a user of water,” Yixing chuckled out, turning to give a quick peck to the other’s lips, “Which is why I don’t know how you managed to get the power of telekinesis since she’s an elemental user.”   “Dad is a mind user, Xing,” Luhan helpfully reminded, earning a nonchalant nod in response causing him to sigh and smile at his cute boyfriend, “You’re cute.”   “And you’re ugly.”   Luhan just stopped and stared at his boyfriend, eyes wide and mouth wide open, “What?!”   And then he saw the sparkle of mischief and amusement in the other’s eyes before lightly punching him on the shoulder in retaliation.   “You’re rude.”   Yixing just laughed in response before moving over to place light kisses all over the other's face, easily replacing the frown marring the prince's features with a beautiful smile in return.   xxx     We're happy.     xxx   Luhan smiled as his eyes started to lightly shimmer a silver color, only seen in the light. He watched as he lifted a large rock with his power before transferring it to another area in the large courtyard within the castle grounds. His eyes crinkled at the edges as he turned to see Yixing crouching down next to the garden and healing a withering flower. His personal trainer Yifan coughed to get his attention again, which worked as he immediately turned back around to see the other’s wings spread out wide behind him before motioning towards the sky with his head and flying up.   He snickered, nodding before turning his head again towards his boyfriend before focusing his power again, feeling a light weight settle in his head as he started to lift himself and Yixing up into the air. He laughed when he felt the other start to flail about in his mind.   “Luhan!” Yixing shouted out, turning his head to glare at him while still flailing about without solid ground directly underneath him, “Put me down! Now!”   “Come on!” he teasingly called out, smiling brightly as he lifted themselves higher up in the air as Yifan rolled his eyes at them before smiling softly at the sight, “You need some fresher air!”   “I’d rather get fresher air next to the plants!” the other protested back, trying to find a stable position in free space, “Lu Han!”   Luhan laughed again, making the other come closer to him so he could hug him lightly around the waist. “Xing,” he chuckled out, loving the feel of the other clutching onto his shoulders for support, “I won’t drop you. I’ll catch you, you know?”   Yixing glared at him again, tightening his hold on the other’s shirt in the process, “Last time you said that, you almost dropped me to the ground if it wasn’t for Sehun passing by and keeping me up in the air.”   He widened his eyes, shocked at that statement as he thought about that event some more. He let out a soft, ‘Oh!’ before looking back straight into his boyfriend’s eyes, “Blame Zitao and Jongin! They distracted me, and you know how I always end up in useless fights with Zitao!”   “Uh huh,” the other drawled out before he suddenly felt a bit heavier. His eyes widened as he instantly wrapped his arms around his elder boyfriend’s neck tightly, “Han!”   They heard a light sigh above them only for Luhan to remember that his training instructor was still there. “Stop flirting, and get back to training, Lu,” Yifan lightly reprimanded, already used to this type of event happening during each of their sessions, “You need to be ready to take the crown and protect your princess there whenever the time comes.”   “Hey!” Yixing suddenly shouted out, annoyed with what his friend said, “I’m not a princess!”   “If I’m the prince,” Luhan mumbled, leaning forward to give the younger a kiss on the cheek and causing Yifan to smirk down at them, “Then you’re going to be my princess.”   xxx     He is rare and unique, after all.     xxx   Yixing hummed as he searched through the large library inside their castle. He really should’ve known where everything was by now, but he still didn’t have that great of a memory to even be able to do that. He mumbled to himself, trying to find another medical textbook even though the books in front of him seemed to not relate to that certain subject at all, “These have to do with stars…”   He heard a light shuffling of feet behind him as he assumed Luhan went to go find a table to sit at while he was busy trying to find what he needed. He didn’t really understand why the other insisted on following him everywhere, but he thought it was okay, simply because he wouldn’t do anything if he was attacked by a random thief – in broad daylight – in the library – in their own castle. He probably wouldn’t even defend himself anyways since he was too kind-hearted. He rolled his eyes at the thought.   Everybody knew he was the personal healer of the prince, and if anybody who could harm him came close enough to him, guards and Luhan would easily take out the offender within a minute flat.   They’ve come a long way. Ever since he was first brought to Luhan when he was eight-years-old, Yixing felt an instant calling to him for some unknown reason. He was able to increase his abilities in a short amount of time, and by the time he was twelve, he was able to heal most wounds that the elder boy by a year could obtain and sustain.   His eyes lit up when he finally traveled far enough to get out of the astrology section of the library and into the medical textbooks section. He easily found what he was looking for, smiling and standing up straight to try and find his boyfriend. He hummed in thought, looking around at the other textbooks that they had.   They were in their early twenties now, with he turning twenty-two and Luhan being twenty-three. They were still developing their powers, which was highly unusual except for ten others that they were friends with. Usually, those born with powers hit the end of their ability scale by the time they reach eighteen, but with them, they were still learning new skills for their powers.   However, they all realized that with each new level mastered after that age, they lose something in return. The rest of their friends always joked with him because he seemed to become more and more forgetful each time he learned a new skill. It hasn’t become terrible yet, but Yixing thought that as long as he learned enough skills to protect and heal Luhan, becoming more forgetful would be worth it.   “Xing!” someone called out to him suddenly, causing him to turn his head to the source of the voice.   He smiled at seeing two people come up to him, “Jongin! Zitao!”   Zitao cutely waved at him before beating Jongin into hugging the shorter male, “Hi, Yixing!”   Yixing laughed, returning the hug before giving the other male a hug too, “What are you guys doing here?”   With Jongin and Zitao, they were one of the rare couples to grace this village. One could teleport while one could control time, and they had a simple calling to each other right when they first met as well. They were easily attracted to the other but were too afraid to do anything about it until he and Luhan did something about it.   “We were just walking around when we wanted to see our favorite healer,” Jongin lightly said, shrugging before laughing and looping an arm around the shorter male, “How’s Luhan?”   Zitao smiled at them before walking ahead of them to find their prince. Yixing laughed, walking in step with the younger male as he thought about the question a bit more, “He’s good. You know. Doing his princely things and everything.”   Jongin smiled and nodded, returning his attention back to his boyfriend in front of them before they reached a more open area to see Luhan talking to Junmyeon. Apparently, with Luhan’s mother being a water user, they considered Junmyeon and his family as distant relatives because of how the other could control water as well, even though it was a more common ability to have.   “Luhan!” Zitao called out, before running over to the other male who was sitting down and tackling him into a hug from the back.   They all laughed when Zitao was suddenly lifted up into the air and away from the other male. Yixing chuckled when he saw Luhan quickly turn around to see it was only Zitao before letting out an obvious breath of relief. “Zitao! Don’t do that to me!” the prince exclaimed out, earning more laughs from everybody else. He gently brought Zitao back to the ground, who was just grinning at him like a feline animal.   “I just wanted to give you a hug,” was the simple response before turning to Junmyeon, “Hey, Junmyeon.”   The other nodded and smiled, opening his arms to allow the taller male to hug him as well, “Hey, what’s up?”   Yixing smiled at the sight before he noticed Luhan was staring at him. He brightened his smile, causing the other to blush and look away to pick a fight with Zitao as usual. He felt a shaking on his shoulders and turned to see Jongin still had his arm draped around him.   “You’re getting more and more forgetful, Yixing,” the taller male commented softly, a bit jokingly before turning to look down at him, “What else have you mastered?”   All Yixing did was smile, because he knew the other just mastered a newer skill as well.   Jongin was becoming more susceptible to sickness.   He knew that whatever skill the younger just mastered, that was the last skill he wanted to achieve after months of not coming to him to be healed once more.   xxx     Others easily love him.     xxx   Luhan pouted. Any time his boyfriend met anybody new, they would instantly love him and try to be around him as much as he or she could. He watched as the other politely talked to some elderly people they were passing by as they walked throughout the town. For being a prince, he was able to be outside the castle a lot more than usual, especially since he could definitely protect himself and his healer.   He bowed politely to the elderly people as he and Yixing continued on their way. He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he became instantly jealous when another person would steal the attention from his boyfriend longer than he liked, which was the reason why he always managed to argue with Zitao a lot.   Zitao used to be Yixing’s ‘son.’ He came from another village to train in their town since it was well known to have some of the best masters and specialists for training. When they met, Zitao instantly became attached to Yixing’s kindness and hospitality that he simply just used to always follow him around like a small, cute animal.   “What are you thinking about?” Yixing suddenly and gently questioned him, snapping him out of his thoughts.   He smiled when he felt the younger slip his hand into his to tangle their fingers together. He looked at him out of the corners of his eyes, “How Zitao used to be considered your son before.”   Yixing looked at him, surprised by the answer, before laughing softly, “You remember that?”   “I’m surprised you do,” Luhan chuckled out, tugging on their hands to pull the other closer to him. He smiled softly when they bumped shoulders, causing the other to laugh at the action, “My vision keeps deteriorating with each new level of my power, Xing.”   “Really?” the other questioned, looking at him with eyes wide full of concern, “Maybe it’s time we should stop increasing our powers.”   Luhan frowned, thinking about it. Maybe they should. He sighed, letting go of the other’s hand to wrap his arms around the other’s shoulders instead. He was about to say something when he felt somebody crash into him from behind before arms wrapped around his torso. His eyes widened in alarm before Yixing suddenly shouted out in caution, “It’s Minseok!”   He let out a breath as he tilted his head backwards to see a tuft of light brown hair on his back. He sighed when he realized his boyfriend was right, “Minseok. You shouldn’t scare me like that.”   “But I know you won’t hurt me for real! We’re best friends,” Minseok happily said, loosening up his hold to smile brightly at him, “And I just wanted to give you a hug.”   Luhan laughed as he let go of his hold on Yixing to turn around and give the other a proper hug, “What are you doing here?”   “Prince Lulu!” a few children voiced out suddenly, running towards them to surround him and Minseok in a big hug.   Yixing laughed as he stared at them fondly, watching Luhan’s face light up and pick up the kids to make them float in the air and squeal in happiness, “You’re babysitting again?”   Minseok laughed, shrugging as he watched Luhan fly up after the kids and just do tricks in the air with them, “I need to earn money somehow, right?” They smiled at the scene above them. “Besides, the kids love little kind prince Lulu.”   “I heard that, Minseok!”   xxx     There are times when he needs protecting.     xxx   “Yixing!” Luhan called out, face filled with fear as he watched enemies grab his boyfriend and punched him in the gut hard, “Let go of him!”   His eyes slowly started to turn a paler color, silver, as he grabbed his sword out of another soldier’s stomach and pushed the three men surrounding him away for Yifan and Sehun to take care of. He thought this simple mission to deliver and create an alliance between their village and another miles away would be easy. He didn’t think they would run into rogue warriors trying to find out what was valuable on their persons.   “I’m fine!” Yixing grunted out, swiftly moving out of the other’s grip as they tried to keep a hold on him.   “Get to him!” Sehun called out, spreading his arms out beside him before moving them to control the winds to his command.   Luhan nodded before he focused and lifted the men surrounding Yixing into the air and jerked his hand to the side, sending them flying over the forest before hearing faint cracking noises. “He’s a mind-user!” one called out before his eyes hardened into stopping a dagger from hitting Yixing’s back. He quickly ran over to his boyfriend before standing in front of him protectively.   “Are you okay?” he quietly asked, ignoring the grunts and screams that filled the air around them as Yixing nodded, not wanting to heal his own stomach when he was sure he was already bruising badly from the punch. He didn’t want to attract attention to himself since he was one of the rare healers to be born with the power. Everybody who saw one knew they had to take the man or woman to be their own.   “Luhan!” Yifan suddenly called out, causing both Yixing and Luhan to look to him only to see a blur out of the corners of their eyes before it was knocked away. Yixing’s newest skill instantly appearing as his body glowed and a light barrier surrounded their forms.   Luhan’s eyes glimmered silver again as he glared, lifting the man up into the air before throwing him to the other side

Chapter 1: I am literally crying my eyes out right now. This was too sad, too cruel of an ending for the two characters that love each other so much. The sacrifice that Lay made for his friend, the country and everyone else and to rid Luhan of his pain, it broke my heart. Great job at being able to appropriately express the emotions of the two!
