That Dog

Once Kyungsoo reached his home with the dog he decided to change out of his uncomfortable suit and into his home clothes. Kyungsoo came out of his room after changing and looked around for the dog, "Doggy! Doggy where did you go?" As Kyungsoo walked around the house he started to notice the mess...

There was a urine stane present on the carpet, a book shelf was knocked down, dirt was smeared against their white couch. Dirty little paw prints covered the white love seat and curtains, a few chairs were knocked down in the kitchen and the picture of him and Jae Ah in the living room was on the ground. The dog ran up to Kyungsoo with a happy grin on its face. Kyungsoo sighed, "If Jae Ah sees this mess she'll surely kill me." The dog frowned and gave Kyungsoo puppy dog eyes as it whined. Kyungsoo smiled weakly, "I'll never be able to stay mad at you."

Kyungsoo led the dog into the washroom, "You're going to need a name aren't you?" The dog continued to pant with its tongue sticking out. Kyungsoo sat and pondered for a moment, what could he name this dog? "How about Kyungsoo Jr.?" The dog frowned and let out a growl. Kyungsoo laughed nervously, "Okay, not that. What about Jae?" The dog continued to frown. Kyungsoo sighed, "Not that either hmm? How about...Jun?" The dog seemed to like this name because once the name escaped Kyungsoo's lips the dog began to him. Kyungsoo laughed and grabbed Jun's front paws, "Alright, Jun. Calm down."

The warm water continued to fill the bath tub and Kyungsoo grabbed his tools. One extra large, yellow sponge, one bottle of soap, two super sized towels, and a hair dryer. Once the bath tub was approximately three quarters full Kyungsoo called Jun, "Jun! It's bath time!"  Jun ran happily into the bathroom and jumped into the tub successfully splashing water all over the washroom floor. Kyungsoo groaned and grabbed one of the towels as he dried the large puddles Jun created. "You're lucky I brought an extra towel, I anticipated this happening," Kyungsoo told Jun.

_______

Jae Ah dialled Kyungsoo's number and waited patiently for him to pick up. "Hi, it's Kyungsoo. Sorry that I can't pick up right now. Leave your name and number and I'll try to call you back as soon as possible!" It went to voice mail. Jae Ah groaned and tried calling their home. If Kyungsoo was home maybe he just wasn't using his cell phone?

It went to voice mail once again, "It's Kyungsoo and Jae Ah~ We're so sorry that we couldn't pick up. Please leave your name and number after the beep and we'll try to get back to you as soon as possible!" Jae Ah let out a frustrated sigh, why wasn't he picking up? No way Kyungsoo was asleep, it was only 8 o'clock and he still had to make dinner plus he told her that he had a lot of paper work today.

Jae Ah bit her lip nervously as she gripped the driving wheel tighter. "Don't think of the worst, Jae Ah," she told mentally told herself, "Kyungsoo is fine. He's probably just cooking." As Jae Ah drove closer and closer to their home her worries started to consume her and she was at the point of worrying he may be dead. Kyungsoo was in love with everything about Jae Ah but the one thing that always made him smile was how much she cared and worried about him. It proved how much she really loved him and he was always more than capable of returning the worry and care. "There's no way he's dead, Jae Ah!" she scolded herself aloud as she stepped out of the car and closed the door.

As Jae Ah stepped out of the car she continued to mutter to herself. She pulled the key out of her bag and slowly pushed it into the key hole. Jae Ah turned to the left and pushed the door open. She placed her bag down on the couch and hung her keys on one of the small wooden hooks next to the closet. Jae Ah slipped her black trench coat off and hung it up then slipped her heels off and wandered into the house after closing the door behind her.

Once Jae Ah entered the kitchen she was faced with a great mess. There was milk left out on the counter a bowl had half eaten mush in it the other half was splattered on the counter it seemed. Jae Ah's jaw gaped at the sight, Kyungsoo had never been messy, ever. She turned around and nearly fainted at the sight of their living room's state. It was at least ten times worse than their kitchen. The white couch had mud splattered all over it and were those paw prints? What the heck? The white love seats weren't any better at all having just as much or more mud and more paw prints. The curtains looked terrible with oh would you look at that, mud and paw prints. The mud and dirt on their black area rug was harder to spot but none the less, Jae Ah spotted it.

Jae Ah threw her hands onto her hips and finally snapped when she saw the dirt on the hardwood floor leading towards the washroom. "Do Kyungsoo! You left the milk out, there's food mush splatered on the counter top. Dirt is covering the couch, love seats, area rug, and the curtains! There is dirt and mud flung everywhere and there are even paw prints." Jae Ah eyed the living room once again and found a urine stain on the couch. "OH MY GOODNESS YOU PEED ON THE COUCH?? Kyungsoo did you turn into a dog and track dirt and paw prints everywhere in the house then pee on the couch?" There was no answer but Jae Ah heard laughter and splashing.

"Oh goodness are you with another woman too? Kyungsoo answer me," Jae Ah was starting to get even angrier. Jae Ah groaned frustratedly and walked towards the washroom. She slowly pushed the door open and found something that she certainly was not expecting. Well Jae Ah wasn't sure what to expect in the first place but all of her wild guesses were quite far off from what this actually was.

Kyungsoo looked up at his girlfriend and gave her a warm smile, "Hi, jagi. You're home."

"Kyungsoo oppa did you pee on the couch?" Jae Ah asked.

Kyungsoo stuttered, "W-What?"

"Did you pee on the couch?" Jae Ah repeated her question.

Kyungsoo stared at her with a puzzled expression, "No! Why on Earth would I pee on the couch?"

"I don't know, there was a urine stain on the couch and since urine does not just randomly deposit itself on couches I assumed it had to get there somehow," Jae Ah shrugged.

Kyungsoo couldn't help but laugh at her ridiculousness, "I would never pee on the couch, jagiya and I know urine does not randomly deposit itself on couches. Jun peed on it but I'll clean it up I promise." Kyungsoo pointed one soap covered hand at Jun.

"K-Kyungsoo... is th-that a d-dog?" Jae Ah stuttered nervously.

Kyungsoo nodded happily, "It's a stray and he was following me home. It was really dirty so I decided to give it a name. By the way I named it Jun." Kyungsoo turned to Jun, "Jun-ah, this is my girlfriend Jae Ah. Please be nice to her, she's really nice if you get to know her." Jae Ah's expression softened as she watched Kyungsoo's interaction with the dog, it was really quite adorable. Jun barked loudly and Jae Ah was snapped out of her happy thoughts.

"Kyungsoo... you r-remember that I-I'm a-afraid of d-dogs right?" Jae Ah's body was shaking slightly with fear. At a young age Jae Ah's neighbor's dog had tackled her into the grass and bit her wrist causing it to bleed. Her neighbors tried desperately to assure Jae Ah that the dog was really harmless and that it was just trying to play. They apologized frantically and Mr. and Mrs. Chung always said that it was alright. Ever since that time Jae Ah had not bothered to touch a single dog and just avoided them entirely.

Kyungsoo's face immediately paled at the statement and he started the apologizing, "I'm so, so sorry, Jae Ah. I completely forgot and... I'm so sorry. I..." Kyungsoo was at a loss for words and he started to ramble frantically.

"It's okay," Jae Ah mumbled as she offered Kyungsoo a weak smile.

Kyungsoo smiled up at Jae Ah and patted the spot next to him on the large towel. Jae Ah sat down timidly and Kyungsoo pecked her temple lovingly. It helped calm her nerves but Jae Ah was still feeling very scared. "Jae Ah, Jun really isn't that bad. He's really friendly I'm sure you'll like him, jagi," Kyungsoo tried to assure her.

Jae Ah bit her lip anxiously, "I don't know... What if he gets mad and bites me?"

"You don't have to go near him, Jae Ah. Just stay here and...talk to Jun," Kyungsoo assured her.

Jae Ah tried to swallow the lump in and began talking slowly, "H-Hi, Jun. My name is Jae Ah. I'm Kyungsoo's girlfriend." Jun had a bright smile on his face as he continued to pant with his tongue happily sticking out. Kyungsoo encouraged her to continue by flashing his innocent smile. "You dirtied my living room but Kyungsoo seems to like you a lot so I suppose you're alright..."

Kyungsoo couldn't help but stare at the beautiful woman next to him as she talked to the dog. With each sentence Jae Ah seemed to warm up more towards Jun and it made Kyungsoo feel happy. Once Jae Ah realized that Kyungsoo was staring at her a blush creeped onto her cheeks and she buried her hands in her palms. "I seem like a weirdo don't I? A crazy weirdo talking to a dog," Jae Ah said with a muffled voice.

Kyungsoo chuckled softly and gently pulled Jae Ah's hands away from her face, "You're not a crazy weirdo, Jae Ah."

"Then why were you staring at me?" Jae Ah questioned him.

Kyungsoo pinched her nose, "Because you're so cute."

"Shut up," Jae Ah shook her head. She didn't mind being called beautiful or y or things of that nature but when she got called cute it made her feel like some powerless little girl. She knew that Kyungsoo meant it as a compliment but Jae Ah never saw being called 'cute' as a compliment. Sure Jae Ah was only five feet tall but she was not some powerless little girl nor was she a damsel in distress.

Kyungsoo chortled and pressed a chast kiss on her cheek, "Alright." Jae Ah continued to speak to the dog and soon she started to inch closer and closer to Jun. Jae Ah started to help Kyungsoo wash Jun. Before they knew it, Jae Ah was happily washing Jun by herself. She laughed at the dogs actions and looked genuinely happy. Kyungsoo's heart felt warm, that dog had managed to make his girlfriend happy after the stressful few months at work.

_______

"That dog is really amazing," Jae Ah told Kyungsoo before sleeping.

Kyungsoo wrapped an arm around Jae Ah's waist and pulled her closer to him, "I'm just glad you're happy."
