CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Black ParadiseCHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Sanghyuk wakes up in a jolt, his body drenched in sweat and his body shaking. He couldn’t believe it; he didn’t want to believe it. Was he really the one behind Hakyeon’s wounds? Sanghyuk hopes that it was all a dream; that it was all due to the stress because of their increased number of assignments – but it wasn’t. It was a sealed memory he happened to come across.
The boy sighs as he finally calms himself and stands up from his bed. Looking out of his window, he sees that the sun wasn’t up yet and that it was still dawn. Knowing that no one would be awake at this time, Sanghyuk goes out of his room only to see Hakyeon making his way out of his own room.
Hakyeon sees Sanghyuk and smiles. “You’re up early, Sanghyuk. Is something bothering you? Would you like to talk about it with me? Of course, I’m not sure how much I can help you, but it’s always good to tell others your problems,” Hakyeon smiles.
Sanghyuk doesn’t say anything and ushers Hakyeon to follow him. The older boy does so, although a bit curious but still compliant. The two boys walk along the seemingly unending hallway until they reach the cafeteria. Making sure that no one was inside, Sanghyuk opens the door and enters, Hakyeon following soon.
Hakyeon opens his mouth to speak but was cut off by Sanghyuk. “You should have told me, hyung. I’m not a little kid anymore. If it was my fault, then you should have told me, heck, you should even punish me. What I did to you was unforgivable,”
Hakyeon doesn’t say anything and lets the boy continue. “It was wrong of me to lose control like that. Even though I don’t really remember what exactly happened, I’m sure that it was my fault and as a result, you got hurt, and I’m very sorry for that,”
“It wasn’t your fault, Sanghyuk. I admit that it was wrong of me to lie to you and keep you from finding out but I want you to understand this; it wasn’t your fault. You didn’t lose control on purpose. Someone had pushed your to the limit; making you lose control. I can’t tell you who and how because I myself don’t know but it’s not your fault, okay?” Hakyeon explains seriousness evident in his eyes. Sanghyuk only nods.
Hakyeon clasps his hands together and smiles. “Well then, now that that matter is settled, let’s move on to the other. I admit that at first, I was worried that something might happen to you, but seeing as how your memory has returned, I think it’s safe for you now. From now on, you will do your own assignments, Sanghyuk. Jaehwan and I won’t be dividing them between the two of us anymore. You’re finally old enough for it. But, I want you to remember to be careful, alright?”
Sanghyuk nods, excitement flowing through his body. Hakyeon sees this and loses his smile. “Do not take these assignments lightly, Sanghyuk because even with our genetic ‘enhancements,’ one wrong move can mean our life; and I’m not just saying that. This is nothing like what you are used to; having your target in front of you, tied and blindfolded; a gun between the two of you. No, it’s nothing like that. Keep this in mind, Sanghyuk, the assignments, so to speak, are nothing but experiments by the administration. It’s hitting two birds with one stone; they get their results and get rid of those they want gone,”
“And soon, we might be their next target,”
I don't even know where to begin. Sorry for the long wait and the crappy chapter. I tried my best. Seems a little bit rushed because it was; I had to get the whole Sanghyuk-Hakyeon problem out of the way. Also, I noticed that I haven't been writing about Jaehwan these past chapters so you'll be able to read about him (hopefully) in the next chapter.
I don't really know when will I be able to update again, hopefully soon because I really feel bad for making you wait long for a chapter. If you'd like, while waiting for an update, you can try reading Monstrosity too. Still a VIXX fic, however it's NEO-centre. Anyway, yeah. Belated happy holidays.
