Painkiller

There was nobody anymore. Jiyeon was alone.

Ever since the breakup of T-ARA, she'd lost contact with all her members. People started to hate her, she usually got insulted in the street if she went out. Jiyeon hadn't been outside for weeks. She hadn't had any communication with anyone for almost three years. She'd basically stopped living.

"What is the point of living when there's nothing to live for.." She thought one morning.

She stared out of the window and sighed, missing the times with her friends, all gone. She missed Hyomin the most. Hyomin was her only company. The others didn't really like her that much or treat her well. It was Hyomin who was always there for her when she was down.. But like the rest, Hyomin was gone.

"Hyominnie.. Come back to me.." She whispered sadly.

She looked to the front door, as if she expected Hyomin to walk in. Nothing happened. Jiyeon walked into the kitchen and opened the cupboard for pills. A while ago she'd purchased some for a bad infection she had. They were harmful, like all pills, if taken the wrong way. She walked into the living room, holding the box of pills and she sat down on the couch. She opened the box and took a handful of pills. Instantly she started to feel dizzy and cough. That made her think about when she had been seriously ill and her members had tried to help her recover. That memory made her even sadder. She missed them, even though sometimes they could have been mean, they were her only friends. Jiyeon crawled into her bed and stared up at the ceiling.

When will things be okay?
When will the sun rise again?

She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Jiyeon woke up the next morning and she felt worse. Yet again, she got up and walked around the house, looking out of the windows desperately hoping that Hyomin would come.. But as usual, there was nobody. Jiyeon looked over at the box of pills, still on the table.

I need a painkiller
Help me take my pain away...

She took more pills which made her cough more. She fell to her knees and coughed up blood. She looked at her hands and her bloodstained dress and started to cry uncontrollably. She took out her phone and called Hyomin's number. Even though they hadn't spoken in a few years, she knew Hyomin never changed her phone numbers. She tried calling Hyomin's mobile first. No answer. Then she called Hyomin's house. Still no answer. Jiyeon sobbed helplessly and called Hyomin's mobile again, this time leaving a voice message.

"Hyomin.. It's Jiyeon.. Help.."

Suddenly everything went dark. Jiyeon couldn't remember anything after that.

Meanwhile, Hyomin was just waking up. Her life was good, a lot better than Jiyeon's. She had a nice house, a decent amount of friends and a large amount of money. The first thing she did when she woke up was check her phone. She saw a voice message from a number she didn't recognise, but she decided to listen anyway.

As soon as she heard the voice on the other end, her eyes widened.

"Hyomin.. It's Jiyeon.. Help.."

Hyomin gasped loudly and dropped her phone. "Jiyeonnie..."

Ten minutes later, Hyomin was out of the house and speeding down the road to Jiyeon's house. She knew Jiyeon's address, because Jiyeon didn't move because she didn't like changes. Jiyeon's voice message echoed through Hyomin's head, causing tears to start falling down her cheeks.

"I'm coming Jiyeonnie.." She mumbled, tightening her grip on the steering wheel.

Hyomin pulled up at the front of Jiyeon's house. It hadn't changed, apart from the garden was overgrown with weeds. She got out of the car and tried to open Jiyeon's door. It was unlocked. She entered and saw Jiyeon lying on the floor, coughing up blood.

"Hyomin.." She groaned.

"Jiyeon... What happened?" Hyomin asked.

Jiyeon weakly pointed to the pills on the table.

Hyomin sighed. "This isn't the answer.."

"What is the point in living.. You ignored me for the past three years.. And the other members.. They couldn't care less. Everyone hates me." Jiyeon said, coughing loudly at the end. "You came too late.."

"What do you mean too late?" Hyomin asked, feeling worried.

"It's over.. All over.." Jiyeon whispered, then she collapsed fully and gasped for air.

"Jiyeonnie!" Hyomin cried, running over to the side of her fallen friend.

"I.. I love you Hyominnie.." Jiyeon managed to whisper.

"I love you too Jiyeonnie.." Hyomin sobbed.

Jiyeon weakly held Hyomin's hand and held it to her heart. "I never forgot.. About what we had.."

Then Jiyeon's eyes closed and she was gone.

Now there was nobody.. Hyomin was alone.
