Cheesier by the Second
My Landlady“That was quite dramatic.”
“Well, that’s the story. I'm sorry Soojungie.” Jessica puffed her cheeks, looking down shamefacedly.
“But you didn’t kill him unnie.”
“I just told you that I did, Soojung."
“The champagne you gave him had no poison on it. That night, when he was a guest in our house, I went to the kitchen because I was thirsty. I saw a glass of wine and figured I could have a small sip. But I accidentally lost hold of it and it fell, spilling all over the floor. I thought it was dad’s, so I quickly took another glass, refilled it, and cleaned the mess. I hurriedly ran off back to my room after that.”
"No that can't be. He died right after he drank it."
"But unnie, that glass was found broken on the floor near Mr. Tan's lifeless body. It was taken for examination but no trace of anything significantly deadly was found on it.”
Amber held her princess’ hand even tighter.
“Thank God that glass of wine fell or—”
“Or what?” Jessica glared at her.
“But my princess could have drank that. Why did you leave the glass on the kitchen counter anyway?” Amber pouted defeatedly.
“Alright it’s my fault okay? I just dashed out to get rid of the poison bottle and come for it right away but how would I know that my sister will have a sudden urge to drink at the middle of the freaking night? We all know how she can’t be disturbed in her sleep, not even if the house is on fire.” Jessica rolled her eyes.
Krystal chuckled.
“What’s happened had happened. We can’t do anything about it now. The doctors said he had a heart attack. He wasn’t poisoned or anything, so you did not kill him unnie. If you did kill him though, I don’t mind at all. He deserved it.”
Yuri nodded her head vigorously.
“So I was just really clueless why you were gone the next day. If you only stayed for a while unnie. You would have known. Then you would never have left.”
Jessica sadly smiled, but her grin dissipated when she realized something.
“Wait, why didn’t you tell me about Tan’s heart attack earlier Kwon Yuri?”
Yuri swallowed hard. Jessica looked pretty scary right now.
“Be-because you told me to shut up? I was going to tell you during your parent’s burial but you beat me to it. And besides, maybe you did kill him. He was too excited that you offered yourself to him that his heart failed to take it.” Yuri muttered.
“You know that was just all an act Yul baby.” Jessica cooed the sulking Yuri.

It was already dawn when the four decided to hit the sack.
Krystal simply won’t let Yuri sleep beside Jessica, while Jessica kept throwing daggers at Amber with her stare, so the two boyish girls decided to sleep in the security guard’s quarters for the time being.
They had just arrived inside Yuri’s loft and was about to prepare for bed when a fist pounded on the door.
Amber went to open it and was beyond surprised to see Krystal standing there, catching her breath like she had just run miles.
“Hey.” Amber mumbled.
She doesn’t have a clue why Krystal is in front of her right now, when they were just together minutes earlier, expressing silent goodbyes under Jessica’s laser-like gaze.
“Uhm, I was just. I thought you were uhm, I just wanted to make sure you’re here coz uh, I thought you might have gone to your room and I wouldn’t want you to go there since that Miss Lee--”
Amber stopped Krystal from blabbering with a swift kiss.
“Good night princess.”
“It’s already dawn stupid.” Krystal shyly retorted.
“Sweet dreams then! Of me.” Amber slyly replied.
Krystal rolled her eyes.
“Don’t get so full of yourself. You’re still my servant Josephine.”
Amber grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close.
“But you’re MY princess now. And that makes me the luckiest servant of all.”
“Stupid! I’m going back because you’re getting cheesier by the second.”
Krystal pulled away and began turning back, but before Amber could close the door, she hastily turned around and stole a kiss from the stunned tomboy.
“Sweetdreams!” She hastily said before hurrying back to her loft before Jessica finds out she’s not in the bathroom.
Amber just stood there completely mesmerized, when Yuri snapped her off.
“You’re damn lucky Amber. Miss Jung was never a romantic, but you made her become one. She's fallen pretty hard.”
Amber can only dumbly grin back.
“But you’re not as lucky as me though. My Sica baby does soooo much more than that.” She smirked ertedly. "Would you like to know about what she did on our--"
“Yah!” Amber smacked Yuri’s head. But the latter did not stop teasing her until they both drifted to sleep.
