You're not here..

Description

Hyunmi and Sungjae shared something special - Hyunmi was sure of it. When they were together, they didn't need anyone else. It didn't matter that their relationship was a secret. All that mattered was what they had with each other. One day, out of nowhere, Sungjae died. While everyone else has their role in the grieving process, Hyunmi finds herself living outside of it, unacknowledged and lonely. How can she recover from a loss that no one will let her have?

This is based on the story my friend keeps talking and talking about. The name of the book was "You are not here" by.. erm... I have forgotten the name of the author... Anyway.. It gave me inspiration so.. Yeah....

This ish my first fic so.. don't bash me pwease. (She even borrowed me the book! I tried my best to memorize each page XD) Minhyuk will become the main when the fic almost ends. (He'll also pop up in some chapters)

Foreword

I'll just walk down this block and then take a right turn. Two more blocks and I'll be with Sungjae. For the first time in a long time, I know he'll be there, waiting for me. I sat down on the grass next to him. He had flowers, but I knew they weren't for me. I wonder... I wonder who gave them to him, but I didn't ask. I told Sungjae about my day. "I saw your dad at the supermarket today." But instead, nothing came out. I didn't talk to him - It's not like he knows who I am, and even if he did, I wouldn't know what to say, I watched him take things off the shelves, looked them over, and then put them back. There was almost nothing in his cart.

I wonder if he's always been like that, or lately been like that. "I miss you, oppa!" I asked if he had missed me too, then waited for his answer. "If that squirrel runs up that tree, then your answer is yes. If it stays on the grass, your answer is no." I said to him. The squirrel didn't move, and my breath was caught in my throat. After a moment, it climbed up the tree fast like lightning. I heaved a sigh of relief. I smiled and lied down next to Sungjae. I wished he could hold me, like he used to, but he didn't.

The warm sun made me drowsy and I fell asleep on my side next to Sungjae. When I woke up, grass was imprinted on my arms, legs and clothes. I brushed myself off, but Sungjae still didn't move an inch. "I'll see you tomorrow, oppa." I said as I reached out to touch him, and my fingers made contact with engraved words.
