E-Den was tired of waiting. Not that he had waited for long, but every second that passed made his heart beat faster. To say that he was nervous was an understatement. He was scared. Scared of ruining everything he had with his best friend. Today was the day he had decided to grow some balls and confess. And now he was starting to think that his friend had ditched him. He was just 5 minutes late, and E-Den was already dying inside.  

                   He thought about every moment they had spent together since they were kids. The thought that his friend would beat the crap out of him was a bit nerve wrecking. Yes, J-Hyo was very strong. Well, E-Den was stronger,  but that doesn't mean he would be able to fight back. Not when the other guy was J-Hyo. He had somehow along the friendship road, fallen into the hole of love. And it was more than scary. He didn't want to turn things more awkward between the two. They were already less closer than before, and he regretted it. He had become more friendly with King to try and not bother J-Hyo. 

                  The three kids had spent all of their childhood together, since their families were really close. It was only the three of them. They had never made other friends before they went to live by themselves. They always knew they were different from other children, and so they decided to stay away so as not to harm anyone. They were special, as E-Den liked to think. But inside, he knew that the best definition was 'beast'. They were beasts. They had a vital need to fight and destroy. They survived on human's fear and respect for them. They were monsters. But still, they were just like every other human being. They were fragile living beings with hearts. Hearts that were just as equally fragile as the others. 

                  And so he couldn't help but to fall in love. His heart wouldn't calm down for a second when the younger one was close to him. Just his smile would make his problems disappear. But he knew it was awkward for J-Hyo, who always showed signs of hating that. Even knowing it, he decided it was better to tell him everything he felt. It was like a big weight he had to lift from his chest. And as the time passed, he felt the weight getting heavier, almost choking him. Until he heard someone calling his name. 

                  He turned around to see who it was, and he automatically smiled. It was good to see that he actually came. That J-Hyo still cared about him. Even if as just friends. He was running to him, with a worried expression. E-Den couldn't help but sigh from relief. When was it that he started falling for his friend?

--Flashback--

               "Yah!! I wanna play with that toy too!!" J-Hyo protested, to which Rasa pouted. "But it's mine! And I'm playing with it!". J-Hyo didn't like the reply, and frowned, "But I wanna play!!! Give me that!!". The two started fighting violently over the stupid toy, and E-Den had to separate them. "Yah, just let him play. We don't want any destruction here." the mature one said with a straight face. And as if he hadn't just protected his precious toy as if it was his life, ready to kill if necessary, Rasa started crying and got up. "I HATE YOU". With that, he ran inside the house, probably to his mother. E-Den sighed and picked the slightly broken toy from the grass, handing it to J-Hyo, "Here". J-Hyo looked at him and accepted the toy, before playing with it sadly and guiltily, almost not moving, and not making any sound. He felt bad for losing control over a toy. And he blushed as well, thinking of E-Den's behaviour. E-Den thought it was cute. That the maknae blushing had a priceless and heart warming sensation in him.

--End of Flashback--

                J-Hyo stopped in front of him just for his hands to reach his knees, as he tried to recover his breath. E-Den stopped smiling when he realized something. J-Hyo was panting. And that was weird, since they had extremely resistant bodies. "From where did you start running?" he asked, only for J-Hyo to look down a bit red. He eyed the younger curiously, and his heart skipped a beat. "Home, actually...". He blushed more, and E-Den chuckled. Cute, he thought. "I could've waited five more minutes". No. He could not. He knew it really well. His mind was already read to explode before. J-Hyo said nothing, and he took it as another awkward silence ready to establish between them, so he broke it before it was formed, "Wanna go get some ice cream?". J-Hyo looked at him surprised, with eyes wide open. "Are we not going to wait for the others?". E-Den knew a question like that was going to pop out, but he wasn't ready for that. "Uh... Ao and King needed to study, so Rasa stayed home to help them" he lied, and J-Hyo blushed again. He was really considering teasing his dongsaeng about that, but he had no guts for that.

                 "So it'll be just the two of us..". "Yeah" E-Den answered and they started walking. J-Hyo felt somehow confused with it. "We haven't spend any time alone since... Years ago?" he said with a hint of sadness and hurt on his voice. E-Den bit his lips and restrained himself from replying. He feared he would say things in a way he hadn't planned. His words were already piercing through him enough. So J-Hyo just continued his small speech that was cutting his throat. "You got closer to King and decided to leave your previous bestfriend behind.". Ok, E-Den knew he was right. He knew he was the one to blame for everything. For their current distance. For the feelings he had. Everything was his fault. If only he hadn't fallen for him. It's not like he had asked for it. He wasn't even sure if the feelings appeared along the freindship road, or if they were always there, but he had no clue about it. He let out a faint 'sorry' and both fell silent.

                 They got their ice creams and stopped their walk near some benches that were turned to the sea view. It was beautiful. And romantic. J-Hyo realized it, and started playing with his cap. E-Den smiled, watching the scene. His friend would play with it whenever he felt out of place, and it always amused him. He had talent, that was sure. But it wasn't his dream to work in a circus. J-Hyo loved that cap. It was like his favorite thing, ever. There wasn't a single day he wouldn't bring that cap with him. He needed a distraction, specially when he was with E-Den. The awkward silence that would appear whenever they were together scared him so much. He wanted things to be like before. He wanted to be able to touch his friend without feeling like he was bothering him. He hated to be annoying. 

                  The conversations would be short and either about the weather or their fights. It almost seemed like the previously best friends had turned into just random guys that knew nothing about eachother. It hurted. A lot. And E-Den gulped, trying to think about any way to break the silence once again. He cleared his throat, "Why don't you make that move you always do like a pro?". J-Hyo looked at him with a cute and not forced expression. "I'm not that good...". E-Den shook his head, chuckling, "Not good? You're great! You have talent, kid". J-Hyo blinked and looked at his cap, smiling a bit. "Ok, but don't laugh if I fail". The eldest nodded and leaned on the back of a bench. 

                     He continued playing with his cap, while E-Den clapped. For a moment, everything felt like before. J-Hyo finished his act, and the older one continued clapping, while sending sincere compliments. It made J-Hyo blush a lot more and turn to the sea view again. The silence fell upon them once more, but not as awkward as before. It was almost like it filled the empty space between them. E-Den would steal some glances from his crush, and take several deep breaths before he started, with his voice shaking a bit. "J-J-Hyo..". He looked at him and he tried to calm down, which was showing to be impossible. "Yes?" J-Hyo encouraged him and held his cap tighter, feeling that what he was about to listen was going to be very important. 

                          E-Den took one last deep breath and turned to him, "I love you". The younger one didn't react, although he froze inside. E-Den took it as a rejection and thought he was about to get beaten up, so he decided to explain everything. "J-Hyo, I can't help it. I've been so close to you and Rasa since we were babies, but for some reason I get this weird feeling of confort whenever your hand brushes against mine, or I see you smile. Your happiness makes me the happiest person alive. I can't help but love you so much more every day. I even had to become closer to someone else for the sake of our friendship, and for you not to get disgusted. I really don't want you to hate me, or anything. I just wanted you to know that I want to protect you forever, even if you don't need any bodyguard. And I'll always be there for you. I swear I wont approach you anymore if you ask me to. I just had to tell you, I understand if you want to kil--" "SHUT THE UP" J-Hyo shouted, clearly angry. It left his Hyung startled, thinking that it was it. J-Hyo was going to kill him right there. 

                               But no. Instead, he took a step forward and placed a sweet lasting kiss on his lips. When he pulled back, after three seconds or so, E-Den didn't know how to react. Their lack of reaction sure needed to be improved into positive reactions. J-Hyo smiled and cupped his face, caressing it. "Babo. I've loved you since god knows when! You have no idea how many times I wanted to beat King up so you would look at me...". His eyes softened along with E-Den's, and both of them smiled lovingly.

                                "I'm sorry, I lied to you before." E-Den started. J-Hyo frowned, "What do you mean?". The Hyung chuckled, "Well, the three of them went somewhere... They didn't stay at home". The younger one laughed, "I know that. Rasa can't lie, remember? He told me he was going somewhere with the maknaes today. I knew you were lying from the start". And it was E-Den's time to blush. 

                                Their walk home was quiet. No words were needed anymore. Their long lasting awkwardness had left to be replaced with their old friendship with an upgrade of mutual love. They stopped by the door. It was night already, so they tried to be as quiet as possible. They turned to eachother and stared into the others' eyes, no longer embarrassed. "J-Hyo...". "E-Den... I don't know if it's a good idea to tell them... It's too soon". The older one nodded, and took his hand tightly. "I know.". J-Hyo bit his lower lip and grabbed the other by his neck to pull him into a heated kiss. They just wanted to kiss a little more before they had to pretend to be just friends again. And just then, the door opened. They pulled back in shock, and Rasa laughed. "Seriously guys? You could go eat eachother's face on your shared room instead of making a show for the neighbors".
